Today’s drawing is for an autographed copy of BLOOD MAGIC. The book was donated by QUILT LADY. Thank you Quilt Lady!
I’ve done a few interviews lately…
Witches are paranoid about these things since so many “interviews” have actually turned out to be nasty interrogations.
But no worries, these were actually fun! So I thought I’d share the fun. To get into the drawing for the autographed copy of BLOOD MAGIC, answer this one question:
DO YOU BELIEVE IN WITCHES?
My answer? In “real life” no. But real life is boring! I write fiction to escape real life! In fiction, I totally believe in witches and magic and a world filled with hot hunks!
So do you? Believe in witches?
I’ll randomly pick the winner and announce it on the blog Friday. Please Note that Friday’s blog will be up later than usual as I want to wait until all the comments are in before I randomly choose the winner.
Good luck! And tell your friends!

no they do not exist in reality; fantasy is another story.

Who am I to say that something doesn’t exist? I guess it depends on the “level” of witch. I know there are wickens. So do I believe in witchs? Sure.

Wiccans are earth witches, more in the sense of communing and working with nature as healers. So I guess they would be a lower level of witch.
Yeah, I believe, but would I hire one?
Doubt it.

My family is rooted in Native American traditions and there is “magic” involved. Put me down in the *yes* column with the caveat that I don’t believe in Harry Potter levels of magic.
When is the magic appletini hour, Jen?

Wait…Harry Potter’s not real? Seriously?? *sigh* Figures. I’ve been trying to figure out that whole Animagus thing for months now.
ANYWAY – I also am aware of the Wiccan religion and know of people who do practice, but witches, like the kind in fiction, real and in person, no, I don’t believe in that.
Call me for happy hour!

Dru, that’s my feelings too. Now if I could just learn to tell the difference between reality and fantasy!

Lynn, I love your attitude! I studied Wiccan a bit in research, it’s a very earth based belief system and kind of cool. So yeah, I’d have to agree with you that I can’t exactly say they don’t exist.

Margaret, good point! Like I was saying in the last comment, the Wiccan belief system is interesting and from what I understand, very much about not causing harm.

Silver, you always seemed magical to me and now I know why
But dang, I really believed in Harry Potter while I was reading the books. That’s allowed right?
Anyone else notice that the whole appltinin cocktail hour is getting earlier? OH WAIT! That’s because of Daylight Savings Time…so it’s okay! Let’s start shaking up our appletinis!

Erika, I always wanted to play that game in the Harry Potter Series…Quidditch? I think that’s the name of it.
Hmm wouldn’t it be cool to get our flying monkeys to play a game like that while we watch and drink appletinis?
Boy did I ever get off the subject!

I believe in Earth magic and postive and negative thoughts. I don’t believe in magic like in Harry Potter or Bewitched kind of magic.
March 26th, 2009 at 1:32 pm · Link
I would love for there to really be witches like in HP or Bewitched but I think not. If there is they are really really good at hiding. lol.

Jen, we can turn the firefighter, cowboy, and soldiers into cheerleaders for the flying monkey Quiddich game. We can sit back in our lawn chairs, drink appletinis and enjoy the show!
The mark of a good paranormal/fantasy writer is the ability for the reader to suspend belief and fall head over heels into the world the author has created. Like BLOOD MAGIC!
Magical? Me? *dies laughing* Me and the fairy godmother…
And Daylight Savings Time? YES! I’ll drink to that!

I will say that I really, really, want to believe in witches, but have never met a real one in real life. I still think your Trolls are really evil! Please don’t enter me it the contest! I got your book out last night. Junt didn’t get a chance to read it.

I’ve never seen or met a witch, but I think it’s possible that they exist.
March 26th, 2009 at 4:33 pm · Link
Not sure if there real or not but like reading about them in books!

Lisa W, perhaps there is earth magic that we get so used to, we just overlook it. I’m all for being more positive!

PamK, wouldn’t that be great? Even better if we turned out to have those powers

Silver, yes! Let’s round up the flying monkeys and the hot men for an afternoon of entertainment!
Thank you so much on Blood Magic! My editor is fantastic at world building, so she deserves credit for pushing me there.
And heck yeah, you have magic!
Have you seen the appletinis anywhere?

Quilt Lady, I hear you on the trolls! I’ve got the protection guys working on it!
Hope you enjoy the book when you do get time to read

Jane, always good to keep the possibility open. I should see if I can find a woman who considers herself a witch and have her do a blog. It would be fascinating!
March 26th, 2009 at 5:02 pm · Link
TeresaW, great answer! And lately there are more books about witches to keep us entertained.

I looked up my flying monkey trainer, he says they should be Quiddich ready by this weekend. Appletinis, hot men and sports. I’m ready!
March 26th, 2009 at 5:22 pm · Link
Erika, did you find the flying monkey trainer in the yellow pages? Google? Crystal ball? You know how hard it is to find a good one!
We’re gonna have a rockin’ witch weekend!

Woohoo! We can start at my place with Bloody Marys and Villains for brunch. And then fly over here for an afternoon of fine men, fun drinks, and fantastic flying feats.

Oh! I found the appletinis! Sorry. *pours and passes*

Well since watching Charmed I think I do believe that there is witches even if only they was not as magical as what we saw!I like a witch that can battle against demons & warlocks rather than witch who only tease people for fun..
