Geeky Witch!

Yesterday, I was hanging out with my sister.  She went with me to look at a laptop, and then laughed because I am super excited.

Over a laptop.

Yeah…My name is Jen and I’m a geek. So sue me.

Then I came home, pulled up all the specs on the laptop and showed my husband. (He knows more about computers than I do and he’s great at thinking of something I missed.)  I bounced around the house, chatting about the laptop, plus the new desktop being built at Dell, and how I’ll need a router and..

Yeah, I’m a geek. Only about computers though. My sister showed me her super-awesome phone.  It has a great screen, a slide out keyboard, AWESOME, except I don’t care. Love the phone for her, but me? I have a simple flip phone that calls, texts and takes an occasional picture.

But I’m soooo gonna buy this laptop! Soon!

What bout you all? What brings out your inner geek?

Definitely computers. Oh and books. And video games. Okay, there’s a really big list here so I’m not going to tell you all of them and shame myself. :D

Ereaders. Specifically the Sony 700. And maybe the iPhone. My daughter has one. It’s…sexy. But I’m not really a geek. I have no clue how computers work. I have a desk top. I have a laptop (it was an inherited gift – long story). I don’t own an iPod, would have no clue how to use said iPod. My phone is pretty simple but a b!t+h to text with. I did discover on a recent trip that it is 3G (whatever the heckfire THAT means) so I could access the Weather Channel radar maps.

I’m a witch. I want to just magick things. *nods* That said, I can’t wait to hear all about your new goodies, Jen!

    I’m a geek. Totally.
I LOVE pc stuff. I’m like you, Jen. I get excited about computers. I love learning how to make them work and everything that is involved with it. I do pc maintenance for my hubby’s business. :) That’s how geeky I am.

    And that’s only the start.
I love history, going to ren faires and yes I have a wench constume. hehe And Sat me and hubby went to garage sales– I bought a book called IN SEARCH OF LOST WORLDS & THE WARRIOR KINGS OF SAXON ENGLAND. He just rolled his eyes. If that doesn’t tell you how big a geek I am, nothing will. lol

Aw, Erika, come on! TELL! SPILL! We want to know just how big a geek you are! My oldest son does online gaming, and it sounds super fun. But it’s too much of a time investment for me. I never did get into video games, mainly because I knew I’d get hooked.

Silver, YES! I would love to magic things! I’m not a geek in knowing how computers work, but I do love them! I have an iPod and LOVE it. I am thinking about an eReader too, probably a Sony, but that’s not in the budget now.

I have no idea what 3G means. Maybe Kira does?

Kira, you’re light years ahead of me! I’m hugely impressed that you do pc maintenance! I know how to turn mine on :-) But I can do a little coding and website stuff. I can figure out stuff like that. The hardware and guts of a computer? Not so much.

LOL on the book! That was a true find! Your poor hubby just doesn’t understand, but I’m excited for you!

I’m a geek when it comes to computers, electronic gadgets and books. I took a class a few years ago and we learned how to build a computer from scratch and I was my most happiest in that class.
