My Weekend with the Wizard

I married an accountant. We call him The Wizard.

Why? Because he makes us! LOL! See years ago, The Wizard and I challenged another couple to a game.  The four of us picked several stocks and we all tracked them. The Wizard put the stocks into a spreadsheet…okay never mind. Yeah, we are THAT exciting. Anyway, we picked names for this game (oh stop laughing…it really was fun!) and my husband picked The Wizard. And for the record, he won the stupid game.

He wins everything. We played couple’s Bunko for a year or so, and he won all the time there too.

However I feel compelled to point out that The Wizard has not won LOTTO! At least not a big one. He’s won a few dollars, but come on Wizard, put that magic to use and win the big one!

Anyway…I was going to tell you about a conversation with The Wizard. I figured I’d give him a name instead of just the husband, or the one he really hates, hubby. So on weekend mornings, we make breakfast and chat. We’re sitting there talking, and he says.  “Your birthday is on a Saturday.”

“How do you know that?” My birthday isn’t for a while and I haven’t looked to see.  So I’m wondering why he has.

“I was flipping through my calendar at work for all my deadlines.”

I groaned at that word. DEADLINE makes me shudder right now.  “I haven’t even looked to see what day my September first due date is on. I don’t want to know. I just want to focus on the book.”

The Wizard grins at me. “Don’t worry,  Jen. If your late on your due date, they’ll just perform a cesarean.”

I stared at him in horror. “Like they’ll just cut me open and pull the book out?”

The Wizard laughed, thinking this was hilarious.

I’m having nightmares of editors chasing me with really sharp knives.

So how was your weekend? By the way, I saw THE PROPOSAL on Saturday and loved it!

I love that poster! I just need one with a brunette gal, so I can hang it over the spot where I read. ;o)

Sorry about the nightmares. Sometimes the most innocuous comments can do that. Ugh. From here, though, it was funny. But I have a weird sense of humor.

Hang in there. You’ll hit your due date, and everything will be fine. :hugs:

*gigglesnort* We need to throw The Wizard and Lawyer Guy into a dungeon and see who out-similes the other.

It’s Monday. I must face WallyWorld and then do some cleaning so LG can put up the fan we bought over the weekend. Ooh…blog post for tomorrow. Explaining all that. Yay! At some point, I hope to get some edits in. Ms. Editor is off until after the 4th and I promised her FAERIE FIRE in the inbox on her return.

    What time for appletinis?

B.E. thanks! I’ll make the deadline because I’m driven that way :-) My husband makes me laugh all the time. It was funny!

Ban, I’ll make the deadline just for you! And no that’s not my husband, LOL! I found the poster of photobucket and liked it. I never had a c-section and I don’t want to start now :-) My hats off to you though–I never figured out how new moms handled a new born and recovered from surgery!

Silver, sympathies on Walley World! And please, if we put the Wizard and Lawyer Guy in teh dungeon, they’d just come up with new ways to torment us…just saying… Marrying clever men has some drawbacks.

How far on you on your edits?

I’m already behind this morning–there were 95 emails in my box, and my brother called and stuff just keeps happening.

Let’s move up Happy Witch Hour and start mixing appleinis!

We had a pretty good weekend. Saw Transformers Sat– LOVED IT!! Then yesterday we went to a car show/fireworks show. Was Fun!!

Then got home late last night to read email. My Critque partner had already read ON EDGE and LOVED IT!!! I was thrilled!! To quote her she said “If you can’t sell this puppy quick, fast and in-a-hurry I’m not even gonna bother trying.” hehe

Jen, you will make your due date. Because we all want to read the next one!! :P And you’re Wizard sounds like he has the same type of humor my hubby does. hehe

LOL! My husband is definitely not a wizard.

My weekend was good, saw Transformers, thought it was AWESOME! I was worried because the previews were not impressive IMO.

I had 3 c-sections. You get 3 days in the hospital to recover before they send you out into the world on your own. It’s not that bad. :D

Kira, Transformers dominated the box office, so it must be good!

So cool that your CP loved your book! Isn’t that the best feeling?

My wizards humor has gotten us through some tough times, I bet your husband is like that too.

Erika, 3 c-sections! Okay, see you probably don’t realize how amazing that is. I had three kids, and it was tiring enough with a newborn (and I had a hell of a lot of help from my husband). So sseriously, you are incredible!

You saw Transformers too? I’m totally missing out.

*mixes and pours* Appletinis are up, witches!

Jen, I’m on page 200. 143 pages to go, plus going back to rework 5 pages I wasn’t sure which POV to use. WallyWorld is done. I’m caught up on email and blogging. Next is dinner prep and some housework then I’ll settle in for some editing.

You’re right about Wiz and LG. But dude, to be a fly on that wall? Priceless!

My weekend was good despite attending a wake for my adopted father.

Everyone is talking about Proposal so it’s definitely on my list of movies to attend.

Dru, I’m sorry to hear about your adopted father. I hope the wake was a fitting celebration of his life.

Go see The Proposal when you get a chance!
