One More Day!

Soul Magic is out tomorrow!

Over the weekend, a bookseller (wildwitchca) read SOUL MAGIC and commented on TWITTER.  She loved it, but it was quite an experience for me, checking Twitter to  see what she thought as she progressed through the story.  At one point, she said she only had about 90 pages to go when I signed off in the evening.

Did I actually get up in the middle of the night to check and see if she finished?

Almost. I woke up and thought about it, but then I knew that if I did it, I’d never sleep.  If she hated it, I ‘d be crushed. If she loved it, I’d be excited. If there was no comment,  my imagination would go into overdrive!

I waited until morning and was thrilled that she loved it and said she was going to make SOUL MAGIC a Staff Pick in her store.  So cool! I’m Appletini-Happy!

I believe my guest blog is will go up at RR&H Novel Thoughts today if you’d like to hop over. I scheduled these a while ago,  so I’m gong by my calendar.

Still VERY slow in reading–one book this week. SILVER FALLS by Anne Stuart.  I have to say, I found the actions of the heroine uneven and often baffling, BUT the plot caught me. I love the good brother/bad brother dynamics. All in all, it was an interesting read.

Your turn! How was your weekend?

My weekend was full of packing and moving, one more week to go, next weekend the furniture and last little bits go. Can’t wait for it to be over.

I did find time to read a little, finished Karen Robards – Pursuit. It was passed on from my mom and I read just about anything but not one of my normal choices, wasn’t bad but a little underdeveloped I think.

Cecile, how did the party go?

My weekend was good. I finally finished the quilt I was working on and I like it. I’ll hate to see it go.

I just finished reading two books, “Locked In” by Marcia Muller and “Mischief in Mudbug” by Jana DeLeon and both were enjoyable.

    Congrats on the good review.

Not bad as weekends go. At least it got warm enough to melt most of the snow. My football team lost, but my baseball team won – so everything evened out. I made some awesome mini-burgers last night, and Daughter made coconut brownies. A usual weekend at the Sanderson household.

I’m currently reading Dune – because I never did read it, and it was 10 cents at the thrift store. Now I see why it’s one of the must-read SF books. Much better than the movie, but I can’t help seeing Kyle McLachlan’s face as I read.

Val, moving is endless! Then the unpacking and organizing. I really do feel for you!

I used to read Karen Robards all the time. Not sure why I stopped.

I hope Cecile had a great party and is resting up today!

Dru, I know you loved that quilt! Do you have a home for it?

You got in more reading than me. I haven’t read Macia Muller in a while either.

B.E. glad your baseball team won! I’ve been trying to tell the Wizard that yelling at the TV will NOT help his teams. He insists it does. Whatever…

Dune? I have to go look that one up. It sounds like something I should read!

Hey Jen… I am so excited that she loved it!! See, I told you!!! And I so can NOT wait to have that book in my greedy little hands to have be able to pet, I mean stroke, I mean… to have Sutton in my hands! LOL!!!

My weekend… You ladies ready… Get those appletini’s ready!
Firday night, we took baby witch out to eat. Boyfriend was suppose to come, he wind up not coming. I was miffed with him for doing that. But not my place. So, proud papa and mama and her bff made it the best dinner we could! Then we went get the food for the party after we ate. Saturday we woke up… and started planning what we needed to do. We cleaned house together and got everything in place. Then we picked up her bff and went to town to get her cake! Beautiful! Went home and started situating everything. Before we knew it, it was time for the girls to start getting ready! Kids started showing up at 6 (baby witch forgot she put on myspace that party started at 6 instead of 7). That was okay though, it was just the girls that were showing up early. We had about 25 kids at the house. They enjoyed themselves. We only had one incident and that was handled and taken care of. The last kid left by midnight.. and whew… it was time for the party to be over! Sunday was recuperation time! Seeing my baby witch turn into a half full witch… crossing over that hump of 15 to 16… And her and little boyfriend broke up Sunday evening. She is okay, she seems to think it comes from her standing up for herself, which I told her never back down from telling someone how you feel. And if can not except that you stand up for what you believe, then he is not worth your time! So, with all that behind us, she is moving forward with a smile on her face! What a weekend!!! Now can I please have an appletini!!! I know it is only 10, but man! **looks around… I am going find Axel!**

Val, I agree with Jen, moving is endless! I told hubby that if we ever move, we need to rich enough to have people do it for us because I am not moving another thing or packing another box!

Oh Dru, I hope you have a good home for your quilt! Do you have a picture of it?

BE… Well LSU won, so I was very excited! And the Saints won too! So it was a good weekend over all! And Jen, yelling at the tv sometimes does help, I should know! LOL!
I am in teh process of finishing The Mark of the Vampire Queen by Joey W Hill.

My weekend was good. I spent some time working on my cross stitch project, which I am 75% of the way done with the stitching, and I watched the Arizona Cardinals WIN BABY! Against the Giants! In New York! It was a good day.

Of course she loved your book! She would have to be um, not a witch, to not love your book. Although I understand that validation is needed. Congrats to you! My copy from amazon is a comin’!

    Happy Monday witches!

Cecile, what a weekend for your daughter! First let me say Kudos to you on not saying much about the bf not showing up for dinner. Been there, and kept my mouth shut until asked. It worked well!

Wonderful that her party went so well! You and your hubby are very brave :-)

I’m sorry about the breakup, but impressed with how well she’s handling it.

We should have appleinins all week long…we need them!

Erika, glad your team won even if the Wizard is a die hard Giants fan :-)

Thanks on the book. So your copy is on the way? Awesome!

We usually watch a lot of football, but have not really had the time this season. I am proud to say my favorite team is undefeated. I have to agree that yelling at the TV does help, my kids just laugh at me when I get all excited. I think I get more worked up than hubby does.

Glad your party went well Cecile. Kudos to your daughter for not letting that boy ruin it. My 16 year old son is in the dating pool and the ups and downs are so not fun. Is it wrong to want to put a nasty spell on a teenage girl?

Howdy, witches! I’ve MISSED ya’ll! Jen, I’d be bouncin’ over here if I had the energy. Can’t wait for SOUL MAGIC!!!!!

Happy Birthday to the Halfling Witch, Cecile! Glad all survived. My weekend was spent in bed sleeping. I’m still nowhere close to even 50% but at least I don’t think I’m going to die anymore.

Erika, my copy of SOUL MAGIC seems to be lost in the Nether Lands. Can I steal the flying monkeys to track it down for me? I know having it in my hands and reading it will make me all better–the perfect spell to chase this nasty flu away!

I’ve finished the first two books of Karin Tabke’s Blood Sword books and started the third before before getting too sick to read. I hope to finish it this week. Awesome books! Especially if you like medievals.

I had a pretty good weekend myself.
The Steelers beat the Vikings! Can I get a WOOT! HA! I was so happy to see Brett Farve fall. :P And, er, I yell at the tv too. My hubby just rolls his eyes at me.

And I found something terrific over the weekend. You will have to stop by my place to find out what it was though. :P I’ll be at the store first thing tomorrow morning.

Cecile it sounds like your girl is growing up for sure. To handle her BF trouble so well. Good for her!!

Jen, I understand needing the validation, but I know SOUL MAGIC will be awesome. :D

Silver, we missed you! As you know, I was worried about you!

Too sick to read? That is some wicked sick!

I’m picturing flying monkeys all over the US carrying copies of SOUL MAGIC. Man, that would be some awesome promo!

    Get well, Silver!

Wooohoooo! SOUL MAGIC tomorrow! I’ll be heading to Meijer right after work (they’re the only thing open that early.)

Silver, welcome back. We missed you too. Hope you feel better soon.

Jen, I have to agree with the other witches about yelling at the TV. I do it every time I watch my Buckeyes or Red Wings. Mostly when the refs make a stupid call.

Nothing exciting this weekend. Read Kate Perry CHOSEN BY DESIRE. Really good book, but I didn’t know it was the second in a series and I haven’t read the first. I hate reading series out of order. Also read DEEP KISS OF WINTER by Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter. Couldn’t put down either story.

    Silver welcome back.

oh I’m excited because the Yankees are in the playoff and crossing my fingers, I may get to go to one game.

I am so waiting for Soul Magic. I spent the weekend weeding my cutting garden, pulling up the spent petunias and planting 160 tulips bulbs. I celebrated the blister in the middle of my right palm with pizza and Heather Graham’s Seance.

Dawn, glad you’re excited :-) Thanks!

All this yelling at the TV! Witches, don’t you know I’m trying to convince the wizard that he’s powerless? You’re taking his side! What am I going to do? Oh well, he’s probably not going to see the blog today :-)

I’ve been hearing about DEEP KISS OF WINTER! I’ll have to pick it up!

Yes – I devoured this book! I’m plastering it all over my work (Chapters in Canada), on my website, on Myspace, on Goodreads, on Chapters website and more.

We must spread the word and the publishers must realize that this lady is an amazing talent. She has a true talent with words. Her story leaves you hanging…then she surprises you! But your books should have a warning: “Do not start this book unless you have 12 uninterrupted hours because it will not be a put-down book!”

Off to promote this on the Chapters website, Myspace and more! People MUST find this!

Now for the inevitable question…when’s the next one! lol

    Huge blessings to you!

Wildwitchca, thank you! I’m just speechless by all the lovely things you said :-)

The next book, BLIND MAGIC is in with the publisher, but it doesn’t have a release date yet. As soon as I know, I’ll spread the word!

Authors couldn’t make it without booksellers like you MOST ESPECIALLY midlist authors like me! Thank you!

Thanks to all you witches out there for wishing my baby…oops Halfing Witch a happy birthday! And yes, she is showing me every day how “grown” up she is! And yes, I think we can cast spells over the “other” person… boyfriend/girlfriend… of our children! One of my friends called him a turd… and I thought that was being nice, lol!!! But I was very impressed with the way she handled herself. Thank you all!!

    Dru, your quilts are amazing!!!
Silver, I am so glad that you are back from jury duty but I am sorry to hear that you are sick!
Sorry that we keep taking up for the wizard, but when it comes to yelling at the tv during football, yea.. I am going to have to agree with him… BUT ONLY THIS ONCE!!!!!!
Send the flying monkeys out for all of our books!!! I want mine in my hand!!!! And Jen…. YAYAYAYAYAY Blind Magic is in publishers hands… YAYAYAYAYAY!!!! Honey, we all know you can write, and we know this one will knock our socks off!!!! Have a great night witches!!!
