Monday Mania

cat-makes-evil-plansSee the picture? That’s what I’ve been saying! It’s a lot of work to come up with evil plans!

And now I’m completely slammed with work. Hey…evil plans and books don’t come up with themselves…

And how the neck did November sneak up on me?

Anyway, I might be scarce for a while.

But don’t leave me alone! Please!

For starters, tell me how your weekend was,  I really want to hear!

My weekend was fine.  Halloween night was a light turnout.  The rest of the weekend I was either working or fretting about working!

Okay you’re turn!

Halloween was great, the kids all had fun. I won the Halloween costume contest at our taekwondo party during the day and my husband won for the men. He was Bret Michaels and I was an 80s girl.

I finished reading three books over the weekend, I told you that extra hour would help me. I finished JR Ward’s Covet, Nora Robert’s Bed of Roses and of course Soul Magic. I LOVED it!!!!! It made me laugh, it made me cry, I couldn’t put it down at all.

My weekend was a study in frustration. Mostly. I have to rename my trilogy for my editor and her editor. :( I’ve been wracking my brain and nothing comes to mind. And I’m at the point in the publishing process of the second book where I have to go begging for cover quotes. I HATE that part. Yeah, it’s Monday and I’m whining.

NaNoWriMo started Sunday and I seem to be off to a good start. I like this WIP and have hopes for it. If you get the chance, I introduced my characters over on Penumbra today.

Jen, I’m sorry you’re slammed. FYI? I LOVEDLOVEDLOVED SOUL MAGIC. Absolutely and totally devoured it! It was the high point of my weekend!

Okay, I’m slinking off now to burn more brain cells. I think today is going to be a four pitcher appletini day. Just sayin’…

My weekend was good. Halloween was light (thank goodness) and the rest of the weekend was busy. I have one chapter left in SOUL MAGIC and it was killing me to stop and get my ass to work this morning. I must say I am extremely frustrated with this book, I won’t say more for your other readers, just that it’s in a good way.

I spent Saturday morning at B & N with my friend Venus. She was checking out my WIP and quite frankly, I left a little deflated. *sigh* It’s all good though, I’m new at this, I’ll figure it out.

    Happy Monday witches!

November was definitely sneaky this year. Where did October go? I needed more time before NaNo. I shouldn’t be too scarce, though. I’ll just be cutting back on the TV time.

Halloween was nice. I took a book and the candy outside and read while I handed out to the trick or treaters. We didn’t get a whole lot of kids, which gave me time to focus on the non-fic I’ve been meaning to read. Nothing like Krakatoa to jazz up a fall evening. ;o)

Other than that, I spent yesterday hitting my NaNo goal and watching sports. One more win and the Yankees take the World Series. =o)

Oh Jen, I am sorry to hear that you are so slammed. But I promise to never you leave you alone, lol!!!

Well, this was my weekend!!! Friday night, Halfing Witch & her bff asked if we could go eat out and see Saw 6. I told them they had to wait till Scary Man (hubby) got home because since i know on Friday’s he is tired from work all week long. He was game. We went grab a quick bite and went to the late show. At first, I was not going to see the show. I am a big chicken… but when My Witches called me chicken, I bought a ticket for myself, lol! It was still a gorey movie, but it explained a lot about what the motives were for. So it was a good movie.
Then Saturday, I had to pick up my edible present from my Mom (a fruit basket that they cut and prepared fruit to look like flowers and are ready to eat). I also had to pick up a couple of things while I was out. Then it was party time…. We had a great time. Hubby was scary looking! After the party at my house, we went out to a club in Thibodaux that was having a halloween party. We went and had a great time. We got home a little after 2. And when I hit that bed I slept sooo good! Sunday though, I did not want to do anything… but The Witches insisted that we go to Baton Rouge. I complained the whole time that all I wanted to do was lay in a chair and read, lol!!! But we managed a good day. Even picked up a couple of groceries, lol! Although I still have to go today, because I forgot a few things, lol!!
But over all it was awesome! Now, I just want to rest for a while, lol!!!! Glad that I only do that once a year, lmao!!!

And Jen, I am happy to report that I will be reading Soul Magic tonight!! I can not wait to start it!!!
And I also wanted to thank everyone for all the wishes for my birthday!! You guys made it even more special for me!!! And I can not tell you how much I appreciated it!!! Thank you!

Me and the sis took our girls to the mall to trick or treat – so much safer than wandering around the neighborhood, esp. these days :(
Haven’t started Soul Magic yet – I’m not allowed to buy myself anything now but it’s on the TOP of my Christmas wish list ;D
Oh, and no fears, I’m not going anywhere either !

Amanda, congratulations on you and your husband winning the costume contest! I cracked up at Bret Michaels, my kids used to be big fans of his.

You did get a lot of reading done! I’m jealous!

Thank you on SOUL MAGIC. That really makes me happy today :-)

Silver, WHY do you have to rename it? Oh hell, I’m sorry. I hope you come up with something! You’re good at this, so I know you’ll do it.

I hear you on frustration–my weekend was filled with it.

I’ll get over to you blog a bit later, I really want to see.

Thanks on SOUL MAGIC. It’s lovely to hear, that book has had me in knots.

Erika, I’m sorry your so frustrated with the book!

On leaving deflated from you session with your CP, I know how you feel. It still happens to me with my CPs, with revisions, copy edits….it’s natural to feel overwhelmed and unsure. Just hang in there, you’ll get it!

B.E., I know! It’s really freaking me out that it’s November. How did that happen?

Glad you got to read while handing out candy. And congrats on hitting your NaNo goal!

Cecile, you saw SAW6? I can’t do it! Don’t like the gore. I’m so impressed!

You’re weekend was full and fun!

It was fun to celebrate your birthday with you!

I’m wondering if you’re going to be too tired to even read tonight after that weekend!

Frustrated in a good way, so it’s a positive thing, nothing to be sorry for.

Thanks for your vote of confidence, I appreciate it.

Ban, glad you’re not leaving me as I pull a vanishing act now and again.

The mall does sound safer than the streets these days for trick or treaters.

Hope you get what you want for Christmas :-)

    Erika, okay…got you! Hmm, I’m thinking it’s Phoenix…

You will get through this tough spot in your writing, but I hate those dark moments.

Ok, no more playing, back to work for me!

Uhm because Tir Nan Og is hard to say and looks funny? *sigh*

Erika, hang in there. It’s always hard when you first start out learning your craft. The good news is, we do learn and we do get better! You have wonderful characters and fresh ideas. You’ll get the hang of it. Promis!

Jen, love the pic. And the evil plans? Hehehe, I love coming up with those :D

I spent most of my weekend reading. I finished two of the stories in SUN, SAND, AND SEX. Then Saturday I started THE SEX ON THE BEACH BOOK CLUB. I finished it before going to bed, which meant I was up WAY later than normal for the weekend. And I had to add Brad to my list of people on whom to cast evil spells :)

So sorry you are frustrated, Jen! Wish I could help ya out, but I spend my days in frustration all the time anymore. Mine is frustration because I don’t have any time to write. Bleh!! I wouldn’t mind the frustration of writing itself. :)

My weekend was BUSY! Friday night ran some errands, Saturday was clean house day then that night my in-laws came over and the kids went trick or treating. Sunday morning we left early to take my daughter to Drum Day. It was from 11-6. We took her drumset apart, carried it all downstairs, loaded it in the truck and my car (yes, it’s that big), unloaded at building where Drum Day was held, then carried it inside the building, put it together, then afterwards took it back apart, reloaded it the cars, took it home, unloaded it, carried it back upstairs and put it back together. PHEW! I was wore out! And she played solid for FOUR hours.

Good news– THEY BROKE THE WORLD RECORD!! It was a blast! I’ll post pics of it over on my site this week. But for now, I have a snippet posted if anyone wants a short read. :D

Jen, I haven’t had a chance to start your book and its been killing me!! But I will start it tonight. I think I finally have some down time.

    Erika, LOL, love it!

The same catalog where I saw that T-shirt also has a pendant. One side says “good witch” the other side says “bad witch.” And I saw a bunch of other great tees. “Careful or you’ll end up in my novel” made me think of all the writers here. My faves for me “Nation Sarcasm Society – like we need your support” and “Sarcasm – just one more service I provide.”

Hey guys! So sorry I haven’t been replying! My day is just long, have to get a ton of stuff done. it’s going to be like this through Thanksgiving.

Amanda, I don’t haev a release date on the third book yet. It’s look like it might not be out until 2010, but that’s not definite.

A special hello to Joni! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dawn, Brad the Cad is on my list too! And I’m laughing my ass off at the T-shirts! Love the sarcasm ones!

Silver, I’ll take the appletinis and do you have a spell to clone myself? I need about three of me :-)

I’ll try to do better tomorrow!

Man, NaNo caught up on me too! I’m so unprepared, and am already behind on my 2,000 word per day schedule. It’s my first year participating, and I probably won’t finish it (me and procrastination are good buddies), but I figure that I can try and see what happens. Good luck with your novel B.E.!!

Halloween was fun – I went to the homecoming game at the University of Delaware. Then I watched the World Series – that is, I watched the Phillies lose (urgh…why Phillies, why?).

Anyways, glad to see that everyone had a lovely Halloween.

My Halloween was like yours in the fact that it was light. Not many kids but I dressed up and had fun. The rest of the weekend I got lazy and did nothing for a change.
