I Think It’s Defective…

“Mom, I know how bad you want a dog so…” My oldest son pulled out his present from behind his back.

Oh a cute little puppy! But then I tried to play with it–sadly all it knew how to do was lay there and play dead.

Then I tried to feed it, but it wouldn’t eat.

I’m starting to think this isn’t a real puppy… anyone have a spell (or app) for that? Or a spell to get back at my smart ass kid, LOL!!!

My weekend was good.  I went to my local chapter RWA meeting on Saturday, and Mother’s Day on Sunday turned out great in spite of the suspicious puppy.  And Bailey Dog came over to play with me!

So how was your weekend and your Mother’s Day?

Aww, what a cute idea. I wouldn’t throw a spell at the kid. When you can’t have the real thing, a toy is better than nothing. That’s the only way Daughter got a brand new Chevy Avalanche for x-mas. It’s only 12″ long. ;o)

The weekend was pretty awesome. Hubster got me a new computer and a digital camera for upcoming my birthiversary (anniverthday?). They should be here this week sometime. Oh, and my book order shipped, so I’ll have Silver’s book soon, too. Yay. =o)

Maybe if you start pretending the puppy is real hubby will get the idea?

Saturday was the yearly gathering of my husbands clan, Its huge, at a local amusement park, Knoebel’s. We get a pavilion and picnic and ride rides. It is his mom’s Mother’s Day gift to herself. To bad the weather didn’t cooperate, it was extremely windy and cold. But we had a good time anyway.

I worked Sunday but kids cleaned the house and hubby made dinner so it was good. Daughter made me a slideshow of pictures from when the kids were little, it was very sweet. To my horror I teared up, my mom tears up over EVERYTHING, I so do not want to be that way. I hope this isn’t a sign, lol.

BE, you will love Silver’s book! I got mine and finished it awhile ago, read it in an afternoon, just couldn’t put it down.

We did that for my middle son for Christmas a few years ago. He told Santa he wanted a puppy but he has a dog already and we told him that Santa would check with us before giving any live animals. So I found a little stuffed puppy that I thought was really cute. My husband said he’d be mad but he LOVES that dog, carries it everywhere with him. :) See mom knows.

Friday night we had our Kelley Armstrong signing and it was great to meet her, then my friend and I went out for a few drinks. Saturday I ended up going shopping with my mom and got some new dresses for the summer and work. And Saturday night we went to a friends for a BBQ. Sunday I laid around reading until it was time to go to the baseball game. Nice weekend overall.

Today my oldest son is having a book signing for his class, they have published a book. He did it last year for his class too, such a fun thing for the kids to do.

My weekend was quiet. My mom went out on a mother’s day event with her friends and she had a good time and that is what counts.

I went shopping and bought a new digital camera and played with the iPad that was on display.

Ohh Jen, that is soo precious! At least Kid was thinking of you. And knowing you are surrounded by witches, he probably thought we could conjure up a spell for the puppy! And Val is on to something… Start acting like it is a real puppy and maybe Wizard will get the idea… Put it on a leash.. and take it for walks and leave a water bowl out and food bowl out… and toys… and talk to it!! He might think you are a little off your rocker, but it might wear him down!! LOL!!

My weekend was okay… Here is to hoping my Monday is better!!!!! Appletini time and Lair time………. BIG TIME!

Awwww, BE and Val! Y’all rock!

Jen, I agree. Go with the “pretend puppy is real.” Give it a name. Be sure to “let it out do do it’s business” when The Wiz is around. Keep a bowl of water and an empty food dish–growing puppies eat constantly, you know, so the dish would always be empty. ;)

My weekend was busy! The Only graduated on Saturday. Lots of family here. Sunday, we brunched and then sent everyone home. Glad to have my space back. I also got a contract for the novella. Today is filling out paperwork around the piles of laundry. LOL!

Did somebody say appletinis? I’m there!!!!

Val, I am! I tried to convince Wizard to go with me to Petco yesterday to buy a leash and collar.

Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate, but it sounds like you all enjoyed the gathering in spite of the wind.

Your husband and daughter are both so sweet! And tearing up is just a sign of how much your daughter’s thoughtfulness meant to you.

Amanda, exactly! Moms know their kids! My son was just teasing me. And I do love the puppy. He also brought Bailey out for me to play with :-)

So glad you got the chance to meet Kelley Armstrong!

The booksigning for your son’s class is wonderful!

Dru, so cool about your new digital camera! I haven’t seen the iPad yet, but one of my sons (he’s a manager at Best Buy) says it’s pretty cool.

Silver! Congrats on your daughters graduation! That is major! You have a lot to be proud of in that kid!

And congrats on the novella contract! That was quick, didn’t you say it’d take a month or son? It’s cuz you’re so awesome!
