I’ve started my last round of revisions on SINFUL MAGIC. For some reason, I was dreading this. I mean really dreading it. And yet once I stopped procrastinating yesterday and went through all my editor’s notes, I began to realize it’s not as much as I thought.
Then I dove in and got through about 115 pages pretty quickly. I’m so relieved. I know what it is–I love this book so much, I love Key, Roxy and the dragon (I LOVE THE DRAGON!) and want to tell their story to the best of my ability. I was so involved in the first round of revisions, it was a little intense around here. I was…
Well Wizard has a word for it OBSESSED. Helpful, isn’t he?
The point is, I was worried–what if I went through all that, and still hadn’t nailed the story? But my editor seems to think I did, and now it just needs a little smoothing. I suppose I won’t really know if I succeeded or failed until the book is out (May 24th, 2011). But for now, it looks like this round of revisions will be a lot less obsessive intense than the first round!
Isn’t it a nice surprise when something we were agonizing about, turns out to be pretty better than we thought?
