Dog or Bunny

It’s one of those Random Days where logic has no say…

For years we had a bunny named Willy who looked like this:

Willy was a great pet! When we got him, he’d never been out of his cage. The first day we let him out, he ran about 10 feet and  then flopped over on his side, exhausted. But he got used to it, and loved the freedom. He had the run of the back yard, and the hill where he dug holes. He came in his cage every night (we locked him in for safety).

Willy had many adventures…like the time he got out of the yard but I didn’t know it. I was taking out trashcans one day, when I heard this noise. Imagine my surprise when it was Willy hauling ass around the street corner WITH A DOG CHASING HIM! I thought Willy was in the backyard!  I was completely stunned. The rabbit saw me, ran right for me and leaped into my arms. Then he played dead (it’s a rabbit thing).

The dog skidded to a stop on my drive way and started at me.  I said, “No!”  The dog dropped his head, totally bummed that his fun was over, then turned and trotted off.

Anyway, I’ll stop boring you with Willy stories. But what made me think of Willy? This dog picture on a shelter website:

Doesn’t he have a bunny face? What do you think?

Question of the Day

Yesterday totally got away from me, so I’m doing a cheater blog today. Just a question:

What is your favorite cookie?

Everyone knows I’m a chocoholic, but I’d say my absolute favorite is Chocolate (chunks of chocolate!) chip.

Monday Roundup

I’ve been cleaning out closets and I feel like this puppy. No matter how much I do…there’s soooo much more to do!

And seriously, how can the kids that have moved out have so much junk left in my house? I should charge them a fee for storage!

Otherwise it was a pretty quiet weekend for me.

How was your weekend?

Reading Craving

I’ve been reading category and suddenly needed a sexier read. I get a specific craving every now and again like that–historic, erotic, vampires, non-romance, mystery, suspense–all kinds of reading cravings. This time, it was for something hot and sexy. So I downloaded a Lora Leigh book–can’t get much sexier than that! And you know what I’m realizing?

It’s not the sex that keeps me reading.

It’s the emotion.

She’s digs into the heart of her characters and makes the reader feel their deep, secret need to be loved. Not just the heroines, but the heroes too. And somehow, it works. They men don’t come across as wimpy.

Sigh…

And that is all, because I must go back to the book and see if the characters get their hearts broken or their dreams fulfilled!

Now for my question:  What’s your reader craving?

Happy Monday!

Wizard hid my Kindle from me! I walked into the family room,  and it was GONE!

But of course, I handled it with grace and maturity.  I looked at Wizard and  said, “GIVE IT BACK!”

“What?” He looks up at me from where he’s sitting all smug.

“My Kindle! I want it now!”  (uhh, yeah, super mature!)

“Did you lose it? Then he LAUGHED!

And just as I was ready to zap a beehive onto his lap, he relented and gave me a hint.  “Think Witch, what  did you just yell at me about?”

I was really considering that beehive. “My kindle! You stole it!”

“Before that,” he says all calm and reasonable.

I thought…. “I told you to stay out of the fruit snacks…oh!” I ran to the cupboard and found my Kindle next to the snacks.  I grabbed up my Kindle, hugged it and did a happy dance.  “All this because I told you to stay out of the fruit snacks?” He would hold my Kindle hostage? What kind of man does that?

“Nah…I was just bored. There’s nothing on TV. And you’re entertaining as  hell when you have a hissy fit.”

Sigh. So how was your weekend?

What Are You Reading?

I feel guilty. Ever since I got my Kindle, I’ve been buying electronic books. Brick-and-mortar bookstores are in trouble and need my support, and what do I do? Buy electronic books.  Even worse, I love reading with my Kindle.

I blame Biker Witch (my sister)–she got a Kindle first! She showed me how super cool it is. Yeah, it’s Biker Witch’s fault.  As a penance, Biker Witch and I are going to have to do some serious spending in a bookstore! We’re good at that :-)

But for now, I’m reading on my Kindle.  I’m on a Harlequin Intrigue kick right now. First I read HelenKey Dimon’s NIGHT MOVES which is very plot focused.  Now I’m reading WILD STALLION by Delores Fossem, which is a bit more character focused. I like the variety :-)

Okay your turn, what are you reading?

Favorite Hero Names

Roarke! Ha I said it first! Roarke is one of my all time favorite hero names!  I love the “In Death” Series by JD Robb and if I could only figure out how to get rid of Eve, Roarke would be mine! All mine!

Unfortunately, Eve can and will kick my butt.

Anyway, where was I? Oh hero names! In my books (both Lyon and Apodaca), I think my some of my favorite hero names are Axel, Phoenix, Ram, Gabe and Nick. That’s just what I can remember off hand.

For a new proposal, I’m thinking Sloane.

So my question of the day: What hero names are your favorite (and YES! I do steal! If you put them here and the name resonates with me, I will steal it!).
