Guess who surprised me with a visit and made me Oh So Happy?????
It’s Bailey Dog! I have missed him! He brought one of my sons with him to visit too. Sure, I missed my kid, but Bailey is so much fun. In fact we played so much that by nine at night he looked like this:
He could barely keep his eyes open but he refused to go to bed until I did.
And you know what? That night I actually SLEPT! That dog has some kind of magic since I’ve been in a monster battle with insomnia lately.
Otherwise, my weekend was pretty good. Still in synopsis hell. I don’t want to talk about it. I just want a fairy to show up and write the darn thing for me. But that’s not happening so…dang it, I have to do it myself.
I want to give a big shout out to Biker Witch today on her first day as an UNEMPLOYEED SLACKER! Yay Biker Witch! You’ve earned it, enjoy!

Bailey’s so darn cute. Yay for him tuckering you out enough to sleep. Can’t have a sleepy witch, now can we? Sorry for your synopsis hell. Nothing like trying to boil a full length manuscript into a few pages of scintillating prose. (Scintillating? Ya right. I’m lucky if I get logical.)
I spent a lot of this weekend doing research. Not writing research, though. I was watching that show Who Do You Think You Are on Friday and I got the bug to start researching my own genealogy. I even downloaded a free family tree making thingie. Total timesuck, but it was fun and interesting. I also got 1000 new words out on a suspense I haven’t touched since ’09, so it wasn’t a totally wasted weekend. =o)

Weekend? Hrm….
Saturday, I went with Lawyer Guy for the siren tests. (He’s a HAM radio dude and his net does storm siren tests for a local municipality.) We met the kids, dumped more of their stuff from the garage and took them to lunch.
Sunday, I cleaned house and worked on deep edits. Almost done. Secret Agent Lady will be happy this week, I hope!

B.E., writing a synopsis is weird for me, some books I can doing it pretty quick, some kill me. This one is sucking the marrow out of my bones.
Genealogy? That does sound like a time suck! I hope you’re finding out surprising info!

Synopsis?? *gags* Oh, I feel for you. I really, really hate synopsis. I have yet to write one BEFORE I write a story. I don’t know how you do it. Sends faeries your way! Anything’s gotta help!

My yellow lab will wait up with me for only so long before he gets up and starts bugging me to go to bed. On the weekends he gets completely disgusted and goes to bed without me. What a whimp.

Awww! Bailey dog is adorable! My mother in law is always calling asking when I’m bringing her boys to visit, and she likes to say “of course you and my son can come too” lol
Unfortunately my weekend wasn’t so great. My cousin, who is only 32, is home with hospice care. He is dying, so I’ve been helping out with him the past few weeks. After talking to my mom today, I found out he’s probably not going to last but a couple more days before he passes. That’s been hard, him and I have always been close. Other than that I didn’t do much this weekend.

Oh Shiloh, I’m so sorry to hear about your cousin. that’s heartbreaking and dreadfully unfair. I’m just so sorry. Hugs and prayers for all of you.
