Reading!

Okay first a shout out to Kate Carlisle and Maureen Child for being finalists in the National Reader Choice Awards! I’m so happy for them! Kate’s a finalist for her Desire:  SWEET SURRENDER BABY SURPRISE. Maureen is a finalist for her novella, THE WRONG BROTHER in Under the Millionaires Mistletoe Congrats Kate and Maureen! I am thrilled for you both!

Now onto my new love THE VAMPIRE ACADEMY by Rachel Mead. I read the first book over the insane four days Wizard and  I had Thursday through Sunday and loved it!! Then I bought and downloaded the second one, FROSTBITE to my Kindle yesterday and started it. I’m so hooked! You all have been telling me, and I finally got a change to read it. Awesome!

And lastly, five weeks from today until Key’s book, SINFUL MAGIC, comes out. it seems to be taking a really long time! I’m so curious how readers will react to that story.

Okay, what are you all reading?

I started Jill Sorenson’s The Edge of Night last night for book club but I’m not very far into it yet.

So glad you are enjoying Vampire Academy, they are one of my favorite series and I am looking forward to the spin-off.

I just finished an older book (Wintermind) that was the sequel to a book I picked up at a thrift store (Masters of Solitude). It was good enough that I’m glad I hunted it down on Amazon, even if parts of it were harsh. Now I’m reading Dark Oracle by Alayna Williams (aka Laura Bickle).

Daughter’s read Vampire Academy, but I never picked up that series. Might have to check it out when I have the time. I can’t wait for Key’s book, but having 5 weeks before it comes out might give me a chance to shorten my TBR pile before it arrives.

Last night, I finished Amanda Quick’s QUICKSILVER, 2nd book in the Looking Glass Trilogy/book 11(?) of the Arcane Society series. LOVE these books. I have to wait until May 1st to get FACE OF DANGER, Rocki St. Claire’s next Guardian Angelino book. Paperback is out today, but Kindle doesn’t come out for a week. :-P I also did a marathon read of all the Demonica books by Larissa Ione. Yeah. Another autobuy. *sigh*

I should be like B.E. and attack my paper TBR pile while waiting on SINFUL MAGIC. I just know that book is going to rock!

*wanders back from TBR pile* OK. I snagged the re-release of two of Debra Webb’s Colby Agency books. I haven’t read these two so yay! I’ll have them read just in time to start Rocki’s book!

Later, witches, I have a long scene to rewrite. Gotta switch from Omniscient POV to a deeper third person. *sigh*

Unfortunately I have finals next week, so all I’ve been reading other than technical books is your blog! *sigh* I should definitely thank you all for keeping me sane, even if you didn’t know you were! Lol

Amanda, I love these books! Wish I could afford to buy them all this second :-)

I haven’t read Jill Sorenson–another one to check out.

B.E., I had heard about Vampire Academy books in several places. Young Adult doesn’t always appeal to me, but I love these so far!

Dark Oracle I’ve head of, but I don’t think I read it.

Silver, you have quite a pile of reading! And I’m so glad you like the Demonica series. Another author and I was just talking about Larissa writing yesterday–her world are so vivid and real!

I now how much you love being forced out of omniscient. But I promise, all the pain is worth it!

Shiloh, wow that’s so cool to hear! Although if I tell Wizard this blog is keeping you sane, he’d laugh himself sick. He seems to think I walk a very fine line of sanity :-)

    Good luck with finals!

Five weeks :). Gives me some time to catch up – yes, I have over 100 books around the house and on my Kindle that call to me. How I wish I could read faster.
I’m currently reading Holly Black’s YA RED GLOVE. It’s a very interesting world she’s created.

Viki, 100 books is a lot of books! But can we ever have too many books? The problem is choosing which one to read next :-)

I keep telling my husband that one (ME) can never have too many books ;).
It is so hard trying to figure out which one to read next. If I have library books out they take priority so I can get them back for other people. But all of my books – I just try to figure which I the most behind in and go there :).

Viki, we do suffer for our love of books (and apparently, your husband suffers too–LOL)!

But isn’t it great to know you have all those books just waiting to be read!
