Catching Up and Release Day!

A quick note:  If you’re looking for the winners of the Book A Day Give Away, scroll down to Monday’s blog.

We’re back to the normal blog now! I missed you all! I’ve mostly been doing promo stuff for SINFUL MAGIC. But Wizard took Friday off,  so we had a 4-day weekend. On Saturday, we went to the Midway Museum in San Diego. The Midway is a retired aircraft carrier and so awesome! We had a lot of fun.

Monday was quiet, we made ribs and hung out in the Jacuzzi.

Today is the official release of SINFUL MAGIC! After waiting so long, it’s hard to believe both books (NIGHT MAGIC and SINFUL MAGIC)  are out now. I really hope readers like Key, Roxy and Dyfyr’s (the dragon) story.

Okay now it’s time to catch up with all of you! I know Ban got her puppy,  what else is going on with you all?

A Perfect 10 and Bailey

Let’s get the required promotion out of the way: SINFUL MAGIC got A Perfect 10 review from Lenore at Romance Reviews Today. The actual review will post on June 1st.  Here’s a clip:

SINFUL MAGIC is yet another sizzling and thrilling novel in Jennifer Lyon’s Wing Slayer Hunters series. Key and Roxy are characters to fall in love with. The chemistry and spark works perfectly with just enough sexual tension to keep readers on their toes. Lyon not only writes a heck of a love story but an action packed thriller as well. The plot moves smoothly and quickly, sucking readers in deeper page after page.

… A Perfect 10 in every way, I loved SINFUL MAGIC and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

As you all know, I was worried sick about this book. I just couldn’t tell if I had adequately captured the story.  Now I have hope that I did :-)

And now, it’s Bailey Time! My youngest son moved in with Bailey and my two older sons earlier this year.  All three of them know I love, love, LOVE Bailey. So youngest son sends me an email yesterday with the subject “Ha ha”. I open the email and find this picture:

And this message: “You don’t get to play with him. ”

Tell me again, Why did I have kids?

THOR!

Okay, so yesterday Wizard took the day off. Usually Mondays are super busy, but I woke up at 5:30 am in a panic that an RT (Romantic Times) article was due THAT DAY.  So I popped out of bed and raced to my computer to check.

I was wrong! It’s not due until the 21st! But since I was up I jumped in the shower and went to the gym. I asked my sleeping Wizard if he wanted to go with me. He peeled open one eye and growled. Okay, yeah, it was a little early.  I left him to dream of me (cough-cough) and went to the gym.

So what’s my point? I got done with everything early on Monday and had time to go to the movies! Wizard and I saw THOR and I loved it! I think the beginning was a little slow with all the backstory, but once it got moving, I loved it.  When it ended Wizard said, “Wait, that’s it?”

Gleefully, I said, “Yep, there will be a sequel!”

Wizard signed manfully and said,  “We’ll be going to that, won’t we?”

“Oh yeah! Now where are you taking me for lunch?” And we went to lunch. As we ate, Wizard confessed that he liked the movie too.

Then we came home and ate a ton of M&Ms.  Which probably explains why I’m trying to make myself join Weight Watchers on Thursday…I’ll let you know if I follow through on that.

And that was my Monday–what did you do?

Weekend Roundup

Saturday was awesome! I went to my local RWA Chapter meeting. Got to sign NIGHT MAGIC and chat with readers.  One lady bought the book for her mom, her 89 year old mom who loves hot, sexy paranromals.

How cool is that?

And Leanne Banks gave a brainstorming talk. I hung out with Laura Wright and had the pleasure of meeting Wendy, a FB friend, in person. Just a fun day.

But Sunday–ugh. Wizard had a fun day planned with his friends and that was canceled by rain. I was stuck home writing blogs–and I could not figure out a Murder She Writes blog. Wizard felt sorry for me and took me to see THOR.

But we got to the theater and found out the projection machine broke and the movie was cancelled. I was so freaking bummed.

We came home and I forced out the blog. You really don’t want to read it.  Just one of those days.

But I am sure today will be better!

How was your weekend?

Hunk Fail Friday

Friday and it’s time to party! Let’s break out the appeltinis and hunks!

But I must say one thing, I like unicorns as much as the next witch, and I think this one is gorgeous:

But THIS IS JUST WRONG!

Have a great weekend!

Mini B, My Hero

On Mother’s Day, my oldest son gave me flowers, a card and a little stuff dog. Meet Mini B

He’s named Mini B because he looks a bit like Bailey Dog

So I showed Mini B to Bailey, who was like, “Dude, you can’t eat it, and it doesn’t squeak.”  Bailey was perplexed as to why I liked Mini B.

So finally we sat down to dinner when I looked over to see Bailey, with his paws on the coffee table, checking out Mini B. (Sorry, I didn’t get a picture of it)  He sniffed the dog from all sides, studied him intently, and finally deemed him UNWORTHY. Bailey found one of his squeaky toys and played with that.

But a couple days later, Wizard and I were playing with Mini B. Yes, we are that weird.  Anyway, here is the amazing part. Mini B was pushed fell off a chair, rolled a little ways under and FOUND MY GOLD EARRING THAT HAD BEEN MISSING FOR TWO WEEKS!

Mini B is awesome! Wizard and I both looked everywhere for that earring!

So Bailey was wrong, Mini B is worthy!

Yeah, I know. I really need to get a hobby…or therapy  :-)
