THOR!

Okay, so yesterday Wizard took the day off. Usually Mondays are super busy, but I woke up at 5:30 am in a panic that an RT (Romantic Times) article was due THAT DAY.  So I popped out of bed and raced to my computer to check.

I was wrong! It’s not due until the 21st! But since I was up I jumped in the shower and went to the gym. I asked my sleeping Wizard if he wanted to go with me. He peeled open one eye and growled. Okay, yeah, it was a little early.  I left him to dream of me (cough-cough) and went to the gym.

So what’s my point? I got done with everything early on Monday and had time to go to the movies! Wizard and I saw THOR and I loved it! I think the beginning was a little slow with all the backstory, but once it got moving, I loved it.  When it ended Wizard said, “Wait, that’s it?”

Gleefully, I said, “Yep, there will be a sequel!”

Wizard signed manfully and said,  “We’ll be going to that, won’t we?”

“Oh yeah! Now where are you taking me for lunch?” And we went to lunch. As we ate, Wizard confessed that he liked the movie too.

Then we came home and ate a ton of M&Ms.  Which probably explains why I’m trying to make myself join Weight Watchers on Thursday…I’ll let you know if I follow through on that.

And that was my Monday–what did you do?

So happy you got to see it. Do you agree that it had a real story as opposed to most comic movies? I think that’s why I liked it so mush, well that and Chris ;). Did you stick around for the after credits sneak peak for the avengers? With Thor and all the other action figures it’s going to be great. Sam Jackson won’t hurt it either.

Oh THOR!!! I want to see that! I’m hoping to see it this weekend. My former boss and I are going to the movies this weekend to see either THOR or FAST FIVE. I’d prefer THOR, but former boss lady is a big fan of Vin and Paul. I think Chris is hotter :D Glad you finally got to see it, Jen!

My Monday was pretty boring. Ate. Did laundry. Read. Went to work. I’m on my second week of my new position at work. I can’t say I’m loving the hours (7pm – 3am) and I’m not really able to do a lot yet. I’m still waiting for access to some of the programs I need. *sigh* I do love that I can wear real clothes again. No more steel toe boots and company tees and sweatshirts. YAY!!! And it’s full time. No more wondering if I’ll work 20 hours or 30. It’ll be soooo nice to have a steady paycheck :)

I’ve been a little leery about seeing Thor. I loved his comics when I was young, and I don’t want the movie version to blow. Thanks for the review of it. Now I can stop worrying. =o)

I spent parts of yesterday hanging out with Max. He’s so bored and lonely which is why he’s making trouble. (Yep, you’re right. He’s at that stage.) Other than that, my husband found an awesome new website for dream house browsing – hotpads.com. It’s a total timesuck. Two hours of last night down the drain, but we had fun. =o)

Monday went by quick for us! Got up and took kids to school, came home and did Hip Hop Abs, LOVE Shaun T!! Then went to the store, picked the kids up, made lunch, went to the store for some supplies for hubbies work, dropped them off, came home, made dinner, and played referree while the kids fought. :-? Then it was bed time, tried to read and stay up to wait on hubby but he took to long so I just went to bed! lol

I’ve been pushing hubby to see Thor but he hardly ever has a day off so no go…..yet!

Viki, I do agree! I really felt the backstory in the beginning was clunky–BUT that could be because I sat through 20 minutes of previews for other fantasy type movies and was impatient. But once the story got going, I was HOOKED! And the story had some depth. I really did love it!

I didn’t stay for the preview, we were starved :-)

Dawn, my son saw FAST FIVE. He said as long as you don’t think too much, it’s good :-)

Man those hours are brutal! I don’t know how you do it! But once you get everything you need for you new job, I hope you love it. But real clothes and steady hours are a definite plus!

B.E., I never read the comics, so I can’t compare. I totally get what you’re saying. I really enjoyed the movie but my expectations could have been different from yours. I wish I could help more!

Max needs extra love right now, the poor kitty. He’s so lucky to have you.

Oh man, I am trying not to go to that website! But I know I’m going to cave and then I’ll fall right into the time suck too!

Shiloh, I’ve seen the commercials for Hip Hop Abs (I think), now I’ll have to pay more attention :-)

You did have a busy day! And refereeing the kids doesn’t help! No wonder you couldn’t stay awake to wait on hubby.

Yesterday was a milestone for me…I finally actually WROTE 345 words on my new story! *jumps around all happy-like* I know, not very many words, but they are words. *BG*

OOoo, I’m jealous, Jen! I want to see Thor. But I have to wait until it comes out on DVD. My brain can’t handle the movie theaters yet. :( Too loud for me.

Are you going to see the new Pirates movie?? Oh I REALLY want to see that one.

    BTW– hot pic!

I’m another who worried the movie wouldn’t live up to expectations – probably because they ‘dumb down’ every fantasy/sci-fi/comic movie now-a-days and make it all about the action and forget the STORY !!! Glad to hear two of you saying it’s more than just glam shots of Chris’ beautiful biceps ;)

I loved Thor! I thought the backstory at the beginning was great. It didn’t seem slow to me, but I’m weird like that.
Yesterday was just…Monday. lol I’m ready to go back to college, where I actually have a set schedule that forces me to do things when I have free time because all other time is taken up. And, when I am at college, I get to see my fiance every day, and not just once a week, because we live 20 minutes apart and gas is too expensive when you have no job. But anyway…

I want to see this movie! But like Ash, I have to wait for the DVD. And Ash, congrats on the words! You go, girl!

I wish I could remember what I did yesterday. It’s pretty much a blur of “same ol’ same ol’.” But for the season finale to CASTLE last night. OMGOMGOMG*breathes*OMG! I want to write a book that has that much emotional impact!

Is it hump day yet? *whine*

Ashlynn, congratulations! That’s fabulous progress and I’m celebrating with you!

I hate to admit it, but I’m not into Pirates–what’s his name doesn’t do it for me :-( Maybe if I watched it, I’d change my mind.

Ban, those are some really beautiful biceps :-) I’d be interested to hear what you think of the movie if you see it.

Kel, it probably was just me. I suspect I was just being impatient with the backstory.

I know what you mean about a set schedule, and it’s a lovely bones that you’ll get to see your fiance everyday at college too!

Silver, I didn’t see Castle, darn it! I hear it’s so good, but I usually am in bed *trying* to sleep.

I’m sure THOR will be out on DVD soon!
