What Are You Reading?

I’m trying to write this blog when I’m drained of all Brain Cells. But the good news–I finished the proposal and sent it to my agent yesterday. I’m hoping she has time to read it this week and give me her feedback.

One of the many things I can count on with my agent is that she is always honest. Always. I know she means what she says.  I love that, even when I don’t love hearing what she has to say.

I really want to tell you all about this idea! But I know I must be careful, dang it. It’s killing me!You guys are my witches, and I think I should be able to share everything!

Let’s change the subject before I do say something I shouldn’t.

I finished reading STORM’S HEART by Thea Harrison. I didn’t love it anywhere near as much as I loved DRAGON BOUND.  But then, DRAGON BOUND is a hard book to follow up!

I’ve just started FIRST GRAVE ON THE RIGHT by Darynda Jones. I’m only a couple chapters in, but so far, it’s very entertaining!

So what are you reading?

Sorry to hear that Storm’s Heart isn’t do it as well as Dragon Bound. I plan on reading it next. Right now I’m reading the YA Supernaturally. It’s the follow up to Paranormalcy and I’m having a heck of a time reading it. It’s not bad – it’s me. I’m kind of tired and keep falling asleep as soon as I begin to read.

Yay for finishing the proposal! Keeping my fingers crossed and brewing up some spells! I finished Thea’s book over the weekend. I LOVE Tiago and Tricks as characters, but I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt a little let down by the second book. That said, I still devoured it! I then breezed through Julie Leto’s TOO HOT TO HOLD, the first in a Blaze trilogy based on the legend of Joaquin Murrietta, who might have been Zorro. Or not. ;) It was a fun, quick read, but definitely a Blaze category. I’m not sure what’s up next for me. There’s a lot on my Kindle! I’m trying to decide if I’m in the mood for dark romantic suspense, with Leslie Parrish’s COLD TOUCH, for lighter mystery, with Rhys Bowen’s THE AMERSHAM RUBIES, or light romantic suspense with Janelle Denison’s INTO THE NIGHT. Or…I might be really weird (for me) and go with Loretta Chase’s historical, LORD OF SCOUNDRELS. Would you believe I’ve never read it? LOL

At the moment, though, I’m struggling through the synopsis of the current ready-for-submission-but-for-the-synopsis WIP. I can’t read for fun until I get it out the door. :(

Later, witches! Off to work I go.

Viki, let me know what you think of Storm’s Heart when you read it. I wonder if part of my lesser love for the book is because I was deep in the proposal I was working on, so maybe I just couldn’t concentrate.

I have those tired nights like that too.

Silver thanks on the proposal! I’m trying not to fret. I have another idea that is riding me hard, so as soon as I catch up on stuff, I’ll tackle that.

I feel bad about Storm’s Heart. I loved Tiago, and loved Tricks on the last book. I don’t know, maybe it’s just that I was in a distracted state.

You know I don’t think I’ve read LORD OF SCOUNDRELS either! I should get on that!

Huge cauldrons of luck on the synopsis! Mine took way too long to write. They are brain twisters for sure.

Silver I read Cold Touch. Yes truely dark, but sometimes you have to step in the dark to be able to appreciate the light. Just don’t read it while camping out in the woods with a bunch of other girl scout leader’s on a weekend retreat. 8-O

I am working on Julie Leto’s Phantom Touch. I have so much other stuff going on I have not gotten through it at my usual speed.

If I could just get through the reading of the new state manual for my work and through the notes of the state reviewers that came through last week I would be able to read more enjoyable stuff.

Jennifer you are making us crazy with the secret stuff. But surprizes are all the better later on. Sending you as much good magic as I can muster for the review of the new project.

I was in the mood for a steamy romance so last night I finished Lora Leigh’s Submission. It was very, very good! I can’t decide what I’m going to read next, I WANT a romantic suspense with firemen but I’m not finding anything that catches my eyes. I’ve read Jo Davis’ firemen series already……

I hope the proposal goes well! I want to hear more and read more about it! lol Good luck!

Kat, sorry for making you crazy! But I live in Crazy World all the time, so it’s nice to have company.

Many years ago, I worked for a large county office, and remember those manuals well. You have my sympathies! Hope you can get through the material and back to fun reading soon!

Viki, I totally knew what you meant! I’m willing to wait, I’m just curious of I was just too distracted to really get the full impact of the book.

Shiloh, I don’t think I’ve read Submission–so it’s good? I’m going to look it up. I like a lot of her books.

Hmm, does Jill Shalvis have firemen in her books? Wait she’s straight contemporary I think, not romantic suspense. If I think of any, I’ll let you know!
