Weekend Roundup

It was a pretty good weekend–considering. Saturday I had my first day out, which was awesome. I went to my local RWA chapter meeting. I hung out friends, and attended a great program with Carina editor Angela James. She gave a talk on websites and branding that was jam packed with useful information.

Wizard stayed with Broken Leg Boy, and they did great.  I wasn’t worried, I never worry when Wizard in handling these things.  Sunday was non stop as I tried to catch up on some house stuff, plus deal with people coming and going.

I’m hoping that TODAY I can write. In fact, I’m insisting on it.  Wizard took a vacation day, he and the boy can hang out and not ask me anything.  I’m hoping I can convince them that I am invisible for about four or five hours.  Ram and I need some quality time together!

How was your weekend?

I’m so glad you had a good weekend and was able to get out. I bet it did you more good than you realize.

Here’s to you and Ran ;).

My weekend was good. We took the eldest to a Brazilian steak house for his birthday dinner Sat. night. I’m not a big fan – it’s all meat – but the rest of the family loved it. Sunday I just hung with the guys :).

I’m so glad you and Wizard can work together to help BL Boy. You need to tag team so each of you gets some me time. Here’s hoping you have an awesome writing session today.

The weekend here was mostly getting the Daughter ready to go back to college – along with reading and writing and football. (You know, the usual.) Today’s the big drive and drop off.

Cleaned. Drove to see my parents met them at my father in law’s home. The kids were happy because he had snow at his place. The mountians in WV are beautiful with the snow.

Since I have had more limited time for reading, I have been picking up the collection books- the ones with Novella’s from about 4 authors. I am finding that I enjoy sampling the differnet authors and then if I like one of the stories I check out the full lenght book or series that it is connected to. I discovered Alysa Day’s Posiden series and Melana Brook’s Guardian’s that way. Maggie Shay is an author I perfer to read the shorter stories. I have read a couple of her full lenght books and I find that her shorter stories are much better.

I know that you are looking at an e format for Ram’s story. But I wondered if your publisher might consider it as part of a collection. I loved your story in the Beast Within. I would think the exposure of a novella in a collection would help to introduce the WS to a greater audience.

Yay for “Jen-time”! Surely BLB and Wizard can entertain each other for a few hours…but you know how boys are! This weekend….well it was pretty blah and I’m happy for that! Many weekends are busy around here and this one was kind of lazy. Of course that did mean at 10 PM Sunday night I was scurrying to write a paper by the midnight deadline for my online class….procrastinate? Not me!

I hope Ram is good to you today!

I’m glad to see your site back up and running :D It’s great to see all of my fave witches again!

That’s good that you got some me-time. You deserve to get out and have some fun. Hope BLB is feeling better!

My weekend was pretty lazy. I didn’t do much at all. I hardly even read. I mostly watched TV and played on the computer. I did get to see the Wings game Saturday. They beat Chicago 3-2 in OT. YAY! Go Wings!! I’m looking forward to seeing them in person with my BFF and her kids next month. Should be a good time :)

Sorry I’m late! I’ve been head’s down dealing with NRCA forms and labels. *sigh* I had a board meeting this weekend but still managed to get some reading done. I’m reading Jeaniene Frosts’ Cat and Bones series all the way through. I’m on the next to last book. I’ve enjoyed them though the books have been a little uneven, at least IMO.

I miss writing, too. I have hopes of getting my NRCA duties done so I can at least get some revisions done on FAERIE FOOL before sending it to my editor. I’m headed to Florida next week for some time off, even though I’m hoping to get some writing done on new stuff while I’m gone!

Glad BLB is doing better. Give Ram a hug for me. And tell him to cooperate or else! No more magic cookies for him, boy howdy! ;)

Viki, I hope you found something to eat at the steak house. Sounds like your son was happy!

No worries, I knew you meant Ram. Since I’m the queen of typos, I’m pretty good at reading them :-)

B.E., we always work together on this stuff. Wizard’s always been great about pitching in.

Aww, that first day after daughter is back at school, then the routine will kick in and things will be okay. AT least, that’s been my experience.

Kat, that was a busy weekend for you, but great for the kids to play in the snow.

Thanks so much on my novella in THE BEAST WITHIN. Doing anthologies are tricky, generally you have to be asked. No one has asked for a Wing Slayer Hunter story in an anthology. It’d be a great idea if it worked out.

Shiloh, I had to laugh at the 10:00 PM paper. I have a son like that! Glad you had a relaxing weekend before that last minute work.

Dawn, yay for your Wings :-) And seeing them live with your friend next month!

Thanks on my site. I twas frustrating, but I was so distracted with my son, I didn’t stress as much as I would have otherwise.

Wizard is great it stepping in so I can have breaks. Our other two sons are pitching in as well. It’s just a lot to do and manage, but BLB is healing.

Silver, I’m glad to hear you’re going to Florida for some time off! When you get back you can write. You’ve had a lot of stress in your life, you need a break.

Isn’t it amazing how we stress ourselves when we’re not writing?

NRCA takes a huge chunk of time–thank you for doing it!

I got some work done today. It’s never as much as I hoped, but it’s forward progress. I’ve hired a cover artist too :-) There really truly aren’t enough hours in the day, or energy to fuel them right now.
