Weekend Roundup

Overall it’s been a relaxing weekend. Friday I actually went to the gym! Just for a half work out, which is all I plan to do for a couple weeks. But still, it’s progress. My oldest son came out for part of the weekend with Bailey. He’s been doing that every weekend to help out for which I am so grateful.

Right now, as I write this, BLB and his brother are watching Pay Per View wrestling that they ordered. And Bailey dog is laying on Wizard. So funny–Bailey jumped up on the couch and curled up next to Wizard.

Wizard said in the stern voice that scared ALL our kids’ friends as teenagers, “Get down, Bailey.”

Bailey stretched his neck, looked up at Wizard’s face, then laid his head on Wizard’s leg and went to sleep.

I laughed so hard, I cried. All those super tough teenage boys were slightly afraid of Wizard for years. But 12 pound Bailey? Totally not afraid. He knows Wizard is a true softy!

Another amazing Bailey moment–we had BLB’s brace off to exercise his leg. Bailey studied the two of us from my other son’s lap. Then he jumped down, and very carefully sat next to BLB’s bad leg. Then worked his way underneath his leg to support it. We were shocked.  Bailey will not let us rest our feet or legs on him, but he insisted of supporting BLB’s leg. It was amazing to see. I couldn’t leave to grab my camera and get a picture, darn it. (We are very careful when the brace is off). And just FYI–the surgical scar is pretty impressive :-)

Otherwise, I finished the scene I was working on in Ram’s novella. That brings me to the half way point or probably even farther. Now I’m at a standstill as I figure out a couple issues.

Oh and Wizard bought a dozen donuts this weekend. Bad Wizard!

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Bailey is great! I can picture kids cowering at the sound of Wizards voice. I think we all did when a dad spoke :). And then there’s Bailey – he really has every ones number, doesn’t he ;).

I bet your son’s scar will gather a lot of attention. How sweet of Bailey to help out with your sons therapy.

    :) – halfway through Ram :)

My weekend was rather normal. Didn’t do much. The winds were really strong and brought down half a tree in our front yard. It fell right where a lineman was working on Thursday. Thank heaven it didn’t fall then.
We went to PeeWee’s house Saturday evening. He was so happy to have company but when we were leaving to take his parents out to dinner he was not happy. I felt so bad. He cried. Hubs had a treat in his pocket and gave it to him. That eased his pain a bit ;).

Dogs just know. If the Wizard had really meant it, Bailey would’ve gotten down. But he didn’t, so he got the ‘I don’t think so’ look. Good for Bailey. LOL And good for him, helping out with therapy. Got to keep those muscles and tendons limber.

Yay for reaching halfway! I can’t wait to read Ram’s story. =o)

I took Saturday off and just laid around reading. Yesterday I finished both books – Alien Proliferation by Gini Koch and Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman by JB Lynn. (Both awesome, btw.) Plus I got some good words out. Oh, and I got my hair cut on Friday. Whackity whack. I lead such the exciting life.

Cleaning Laundry (regular kind not the excuse to read) it felt like spring here with it being 51 degrees in Jan. So I was inspired to do the spring clean thing. Even had enough energy to go for a 2 mile walk along the C&O Cannal near the Potmac river it was really relaxing. Hubby daughter and I didn’t even realize we had gone so far. Now the trick of keeping the house clean. Anyone know any good spells?

I ate way too much this weekend but I’m trying really hard to eat reasonably during the day. I head home tomorrow and while I’ve had a great time resting and visiting (and eating!) here in Florida, I’m ready to get home and back to my routine.

I’m still reading my final draft of SEASON OF THE WITCH. Found a continuity oops that I’ll fix when I get home and I’m so excited to start work on Caleb’s story. I feel about the Penumbra world the way you feel about the Wing Slayer Hunter world, Jen! ;)

SOOOO glad for the first major hurdle leap in Ram’s story. The rest will come.

Awwww on Bailey Dog. He is soooo very special. So glad BLB is getting better and has such a wonderful family to support him. I bet the girls will be fascinated with his scar. Just sayin’… ;)

Viki, awww on PeeWee! He didn’t want you all to leave him. Too cute that your husband had a treat for him in his pocket. Hope you were able to eat some of the dinner with your sore mouth.

That’s awful about the tree falling. another headache for you to deal with. But very good news it didn’t fall when the guy was working and hit him.

I totally expected Bailey to be protective and loving. Yesterday with the therapy–that surprised me.

B.E. so true on dogs! And yeah, the therapy is vital to BLB’s recovery. We also have a machine he uses–it’s pretty cool. Soon he’ll be in structure physical therapy–that will be tougher (as you know.)

You read the most interesting books! I should keep a list of your titles. Right now, I’m have a stack of books, including RITA books I need to get through.

Yay on the words! And the haircut, I always feel better once I get my hair cut and the color “corrected”

Kat, I wish I had a spell for that! Seriously. I admire you for getting a jump on your spring cleaning. I can’t get ahead on anything like that right now. And energy left over for a 2 mile walk? You should bottle and sell that energy and motivation–I’d be first in line to buy some!

I did go to the gym this morning though (Wizard is home today–he stayed with BLB then he went to the gym when I got home).

Silver, you’re supposed to eat on vacations! It’s a rule :-) Glad you had fun but I know what you mean about getting back to our routines. I’m doing the same thing in a different situation–trying to get back to as much as my routine as I can.

That sounds like a pretty easy fix on SOTW. I love that you’re excited to get to work on Caleb’s story now. Isn’t it a great feeling?

I’m more in love with Ram than ever, but I need to make sure it’s coming through in the novella. That’s the challenge :-)

BLB is happy about the scar, which cracks me up. He has an awesome girlfriends who has been with him with this whole thing. But still-men do like their battle scars!

LOL, they don’t call PT pain & torture for nothing. But it’s worth all the agony when the outcome is walking right. Tell him when it gets too much to focus on the goal. And that chicks dig scars. ;o)

B.E., thanks I will tell him! He’s very determined, so I’m not worried, though I know he’ll have some bad moments.
