Weekend Roundup

So…Wizard picked KFC for Superbowl Sunday. We had chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and biscuits. It was nice for me–no cooking. Wizard took care of everything including going to pick it up.

Although I made cookies, which is fun for me. Wizard tasted one and his whole face lit up. “Witch is this one of your diet cookies?”

I laughed. “No. This is a real cookie. Chocolate chunk cookies with an addition of shaved milk chocolate.”

“It tastes real. So good. I keep telling you to start a business with your cookies.”

That made me smile. I’m not that good, nor do I have the time or energy, but it’s nice to be appreciated!

Now I have an exciting tease for you–I got a first look at a cover for FORBIDDEN MAGIC…all I can say is I LOVE IT!! I love it more than all the covers I’ve had in my entire career. As soon as I get the final copy, I’ll show you all the cover. I am so thrilled!

I just hope the novella is as good as the cover! My hope is to get this e-novella up in April.

Okay that was my weekend, so how was yours?

What a wonderful compliment by Wizard. Isn’t that how Mrs. Fields made it big with her cookies – started out of her kitchen.

Now I’m intrigued. I can’t wait to see the cover of FORBIDDEN MAGIC. I’m sure the novella will be fantastic too.

I just did a bunch of running around this weekend. I won an ARC from Stephanie Tyler of DIRE NEEDS and it arrived Sat. so I began reading. It is fast paced and really good and I’m only 1/4 into it :)
I made fish, noodles, and asparagus for dinner. Watched some Puppy Bowl, Super Bowl (really commercials) and left to read at halftime.

My weekend was wet, freezing cold, muddy, and exhausting! But, RenMan was so happy to have the weekend to himself that he took us out for dinner when we got home (after the showers) so that I didn’t have to cook.

How exciting about your cover! I really liked the other covers so it will be fun to see the new one. And I’ve already marked my calendar for April!!!!

Mmmm, cookies! Those do sound awesome. Good for Wizard showing you some props for your skills – and for getting the KFC himself. If I’d known the game was going to be that exciting, I would’ve made snacks. Woohoo for the new cover. I can’t wait to see it. =o)

This weekend… Well, the snowstorm on Friday pretty much shortened our weekend to one day because Saturday was spent cleaning out. And yesterday was for recovery. On the bright side, shoveling is an awesome workout.

Shopping during the super bowl totally rocks. No one there but me and I could find all the associates in electronics staring at the TV’s. I may have found a new tradition for super bowl weekend. :-D

April- cool. I didn’t realize that you get cover art with an E-Novella. Really Neat.

*starts marking days on calendar to April* Anxious much? YES!!!! You are such a witch for teasing us about the cover. I can’t wait to see it! So glad the Wiz was appreciative of your efforts and that he fetched the rest of the food.

I did a brisket and deviled eggs for the game. We had cheese chunks, chips, and onion dip. Was good but I’ll need extra time on the gazelle this week to make up for everything I ate this weekend! We took The Only and Baseball Boy on a roadtrip. Lawyer Guy found a place we’d like to move/retire to when we win the lottery and The Only got some good intel on a museum where she’s applied. Fingers crossed she gets an interview!

I’ve got to start writing this week but we’re low on coffee. Must make an emergency run today. Just the thought of running out makes me all twitchy. ;) Happy Monday, witches!

YAY FOR APRIL!!!! Well, I told you all that I caved. I ended up making a pizza run at 2 for lunch, then to Marsh for snacks around 3, then KFC for dinner. *shakes head* On top of all that I forgot to turn in my online homework because I was distracted with the super bowl and all the ads…..Bad Shiloh this weekend.

Viki, your dinner was much healthier than mine! I’ll have to look for the puppy bowl on Youtube, I bet it was cute.

The ARC sounds fantastic! Congrats on winning it.

I’m not that good at baking, Wizard is just biased :-)

Julie, your Man gets points for taking you out to dinner! You were doing the girl scout camping thing, right? Or am I mixing that up?

B.E. bummer that the snow turned half your weekend into grunt work. But way to keep a positive attitude on shoveling snow being great exercise!

I desperately need exercise. I’m only hitting the gym 1 to 2 times a week for short workouts right now. Soon I’ll be back to my regular workouts though.

Kat, I heard some others talking about what a great shopping day it was too.

Thanks on the novella. And yep, covers can be done digitally. It’s very cool.

Silver, it’s makes me so happy you’re excited for the novella. I just don’t want to let you (or anyone!) down.

I’m with you on the exercise front! And I ate horribly yesterday. Sigh. But today, I’m back on track.

    Great snacks for the game!

Running out of coffee would get me out of the house too :-)

Shiloh, oh no on your homework! Can you turn it in late?

LOLOLOL!! You did cave! But we all do it–I’ve been guilty of that too many times to count :-) Hope you enjoyed it all!

Yep, took Moody Girl and Drill Sargeant Girl camping along with 6 other Girl Scouts camping.

Didn’t get to see the super bowl, but did watch some of the commercials online. Loved the Audi ad!!!!

Mmmm, those cookies sound good. Thursday I made Buckeye Brownies, brownies w/ a pb layer and choc. ganache on top. My former boss used to bring them into work and I loved them. So I decided to try my own version. They turned out great, but they’re really rich.

Hey no fair teasing us! You really need to stop doing that. I can’t wait to read all about Ram :)

I went out w/ the girls from my last job this weekend. We made plans to meet for dinner and then go see ONE FOR THE MONEY on Saturday. Then a little after noon, my former boss texted me “Help! Get me out of here!” Her hubby was making her nuts (more so than she already is) and she wanted out of the house. So we met early and stopped at Dairy Queen and Walmart to kill time. Then we met the other two for dinner follwed by the movie. I haven’t laughed that much in quite a while. It was great getting out and seeing the girls. We don’t get to see each other nearly enough now that we no longer work together.

Dawn, the brownies sounds so good!

Oh I’ve wanted to see ONE FOR THE MONEY! With BLB we haven’t had time to go to the movies, but maybe soon. Sounds like a great night out for you all!
