Weekend Roundup

Saturday was great! Went out shopping with Biker Witch (my sister) and oddly enough, we didn’t get into any trouble.  I bought a couple pairs of jeans and shoes, a shirt, earring and some stuff for the house. Biker witch picked up a few things too. Then we went to lunch and split a brownie Sundae.

Sunday, I cleaned two bags of clothes out of my closet. That’s a start. I still need a lot more, but I’m making progress.

Then I got some notes back from Laura Wright on my dragon proposal heroine, tried to dive into revising and basically made an unholy mess of it. Finally, I realized it was time to walk away. I watched a movie with Broken Leg Boy, then later realized how I could fix the mess.  I’ll be doing that today.

The next two to three weeks are brutal with physical therapy appts, dr. appts, etc.  If I’m not answering comments or miss a post, that’s why.  I’m fighting hard to find any time to write. But I’ll do my best to stay on top of it all.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like shopping was a success and even w/o the “bag carrier” :). Cleaning out the closet is always a pleasure – not. But you’re getting rid of too big stuff :).

I’m sure everything will come together with the dragon series. You’re right, sometimes you have to leave things for a bit.

Don’t fret about posting. We all know that you have a lot to handle right now. Take care of you.

My weekend was slow. Didn’t do much but clean and then I got ill Sat. night. Don’t know what it is but it likes to hit me after I go to bed. Later the brother-in-law with lung cancer stopped by to walk in our woods. I stayed at least 25 feet away from him. He looks good. As he puts it – whenever he feels good he does as much as he can because he knows he has only a little time left. So sad.

It sounds like you had a successful shopping expedition! Good luck with the upcoming marathon weeks. Those are always stressful. Can’t wait to hear more about the dragons!!

I spent all day, 9 hours straight, cleaning and sorting. Sad thing is there is still more to do. I got behind several years ago when RenMan was deployed for 18 months and have never caught up. But my goal is to get it done by the end of this year. File cabinets, closets, and attic beware.

Yay for good shopping! I admire your ability to share a brownie sundae. I see one of those and I’m like those seagulls in Finding Nemo: MINE! Ack. I hate when suggestions turn revisions into a hot mess. I’ve been battling it myself lately. So glad to hear you thought of a way out of it.

The weekend here was quiet. College Kid got home, got the package that was waiting for her, and slipped downstairs to play Mass Effect 3. I saw her at meal times (and sometimes not even then). Eh, if that’s what she wants to do on her break, who am I to stand in her way? As long as she gets it out of her system so she can focus on school again next week.

Thank goodness for Laudry and spring weather. I did alot of the blankets and sheets and Comfortors that we had been using during the cold nights. With the warm weather I was able to hang it all out side. Nothing like fresh air and sunshine to give your blankets that fresh feeling. Also got some reading in. I read a book I pick up at a Dollar Store. I hated the begining and the end but the middle was pretty good.

Please take the time to concentrate on your writing I need some better stuff to read. April is not that far away and Ram is my easter present- better than chocolete.

Viki- Sounds like your brother in law has come to a point of grace in his journey with cancer. I am sure you will cherish the memories of his time with you and he will continue to recieve the peace that nature provides when you just take a walk in the woods.

Viki, your brother in law’s breaking my heart. I’m so sorry. It’s not fair, but cancer never is. I admire the hell out of him for living the best he can right now though. We could all learn from him.

Sick again? Sounds like you’re getting hit hard this year. I hope you feel better!

Things are getting better here with BLB, but the time demands are not something I can control. It relieves my mind that you all understand :-)

9 hours! Julie, I admire your determination! I need that drive myself. I’m got so much of my son’s crap stored. Once we get BLB independent again (getting there, slowly but surely!) I’m going to tackle it all.

B.E., I can relate the the MINE impulse too! This time, I just happened to be willing to share. Biker Witch appeared to be in a sharing mood too, so it worked out :-)

LOL on your kid! Sounds like she’s decompressing a bit. It’s wonderful of you to give her the space. My oldest does that with video games, still does and he’s a CPA with a thriving practice. He just isn’t doing it NOW during tax season :-)

You do that too with revisions? The thing is, Laura’s suggestions are dead on, it’s me tangling myself up in my head. Once I walked away, the solution clarified in my head. I’m trying to teach myself to do that now–walk away and give my subconscious time to work.

Kat, what a love sentiment for Viki.

You had a big laundry weekend! Sorry the book you were reading didn’t quite pan out. It’s ironic that you liked the middle, not the begging and ending. Most of the time, I find it’s the middle that drags.

I really hope you like Ram’s story! I’m excited. And I’m getting excited again about the dragons…but who knows if any NY Pubs will be interested. We’ll see.

Kat – Thank you for the lovely comment. We all will cherish Joe in our hearts. He is such a nice person so it really annoys me that he has to go through this. I really feel for his wife. She has been dealing with the hospital stuff and it’s been a nightmare. Now that it’s down to a couple months you can see how it’s wearing on her.
You got my nose smelling fresh sheets off the line :). That’s the only thing I miss since we moved into the country. I have too many trees to hang laundry w/o the tree dropping or bird presents ending up on them. It looks like we’re moving to AZ, so the next house will have to have a line outside.

Jenn – You’re right. This year has been awful for me. I’ve never been sick so often. In fact, while I went through cancer treatments (minus the tamoxifen) I only had one chest cold and no other illness. I teased my husband the he must have a huge insurance policy on me ;).
I am so glad that BLB is progressing so swiftly. It does take a lot out of your day with therapy and all. Just remember to take some time for yourself.

Viki, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You are always so upbeat and I admire that. Hang in there.

Jen, congrats on the shopping and culling! I should be cleaning because I’m sure not writing. :( I’m so glad you figured out what to do with the heroine! Sometimes, putting it down and walking away is the best thing to do.

It rained all weekend so I curled up and read. Finished off JD Robb’s CELEBRITY IN DEATH. It was a good one but seemed to have less tension than previous books in the series.

    Have a good week, everyone!

The shopping trip sounds fun. The brownie sundae sounds even better :) And I’m w/ B.E. on the sharing.

I did not much of anything this weekend. I spent some time trying to get caught up on my TBR pile. After I finished DYING WISH, I read Allison Pang’s A SLIVER OF SHADOW followed by Michele Bardsley’s NOW OR NEVER. And I still have around 2 dozen books waiting for me, with a Sherrilyn Kenyon book coming out tomorrow. I also watched my Red Wings on Saturday. Too bad they lost

Viki, I hope you can get well and stay well now. Being sick just plain sucks.

Silver, I’m making slow progress. I liked the first version better I think, but we’ll see.

So you’re a bit stuck in writing?

Rainy weather is the perfect time to read!

Dawn, the brownie sundae was soooo good :-)

Sorry about your team. But you are doing a better job cutting through your TBR pile than I am!
