Weekend Roundup

Another relaxing weekend. I could really get used to this! BLB went home to his house for the weekend, and Wizard and I didn’t have any real commitments. Yesterday we made ribs and hung out in the hot tub.

Of course there was my trip to Target. I managed to get through that okay, but then thought, “Hey I’ll get a latte at the Starbucks inside Target.  I paid cash and automatically did the math in my head and knew I was getting a buck fifteen in change.

So I unzipped my change wallet.

Then, in I move that proves I seriously need a keeper, I turned a my wallet upside down and spilled out about four dollars worth of change.

All over the tile floor. Quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies everywhere.

Instant hot flash of major embarrassment.  All the way home, I chanted, “I am not telling wizard about this. I am not…”

First thing I did when I got home? Told Wizard.

Yeah, he was still laughing when he left for work today.

But in happier news, I think I’m going to get an iPhone! My phone is around 4 years old and dumb as dirt.  I text by numbers! So sad. Anyway, we went and looked yesterday, checking them out. Wizard won’t get one, but I am 95% sure I am. I’m excited.  It’ll be a couple weeks before I do it though. I want to be sure it’s what I really want.

How was your weekend?

I feel you with the slipped change. It’s happened to me but I don’t think it was that much money when I dumped it out. But on the bright side you got a latte :).

It’s nice that BLB gets to go back to his place, not only for him but for you too. Isn’t it strange when it’s just you and Wizard in the house? It is for me when the guys are gone – and I kind of like it – oops shouldn’t let the boys know that ;).

My weekend was spent playing catch up. I’m almost there. I have a few calls to make later today to get mulch and stuff and then I should be back in the normal swing of things.

You’ll love the iphone. I don’t have one but hubs does. I have a pay as you go with a plan that no longer exists. I can’t text or get messages. As John says, I have a phone that is a phone :).

    Have a good day.

Change who has change? My kids raid it. They have these huge banks. My son says he is going to get a motorcycle and my daughter is saving for a horse. I tell them they can have what ever they can afford when they have their own places and I don’t have to feed, clean up after it or put insurance on it.

Weekend was relaxing with an edge. I read a little, did a little house work even worked in a nap, but tomorrow my husband is having eye surgery due eye problems related to his diabeties. I have talked with the kids about it and they are ok mostly. Worried as everyone is about the unknown of what is going to be different after. I have been realistic and told them that their dad may eventually go blind.

Prayer and wishes would be gladly accepted. I ask for you to pray not for the outcome which fate has already determined instead I ask that you pray for my husband to have the ability to cope with all that is to come.
    Thanks

Sorry about your coinage mishap. If it happens again, try shouting ‘Treasure hunt!’ and running for the door while everyone is scrambling for the money. ;o)

I’m on the last days of my subscription to Ancestry.com, so I’ve been pushing hard to get as much info as possible. I so don’t want to pay for another month, but I also don’t want to leave parts of this unfinished. If all goes well, I plan on printing out a keepsake to give my mom for Mother’s Day. Other than that, not much happened around here. Read a little, wrote a little – and not much exciting happened in either case there. LOL

Kat, good thoughts and prayers winging toward you and your family. The Only has had four eye surgeries and two plastic surgeries on her right eye. It’s scary but outcomes are so amazing these days. Hang in there.

I love my iPhone even though I don’t use it for 99% of what it can do. After The Only’s iPhone was stolen, we got her the 4S with the Siri voice. She has way too much fun with it.

Jen, I’ve dumped my whole purse like that. SOOOOOO embarrassing.

My weekend? It’s fired, just like last week. Monday, Only had a root canal. Wednesday, a Lexus rear-ended her Mustang in a parking lot. We spent Friday evening in the ER because she caught her finger in a cotton candy machine. Lawyer Guy fell Saturday morning, gashed his arm and scraped his nose. I swear I’m going to buy some “noodles”, slice them up and line the edges of the metal coffee table in the family room using them and duct tape. Then, about midnight, the dogs started barking at the back door. I let them out, realized the AC unit was making weird noises. Went to check and discovered the metal on top was hot enough to be uncomfortable/burn. I switched it off, opened windows and turned on fans. *sigh* I am currently awaiting the arrival of the repair guy. Yeah. It’s Monday.

Viki, lately I’ve been dumping my change into piggy bank (It really is a pig, LOL) because i have so much. But yeah, I got the latte. Really should have dumped some Kahlua in it :-)

Once thing about vacations, they make us appreciate being home and on ours routines. Well for those of us who like our routines!

It is great to have the house to ourselves! We both missed BLB, but at the same time, we had a chance to just catch our breath and talk.

I’m silly with excitement over getting an iPhone!

Kat, I will add my prayers. I’m so sorry you’re all facing this. The unknown is very frightening. But as Silver says, they are making huge progress now. Keep your hope.

I like your daughter’s goal of a horse :-) And your response to your kids sounds exactly like what I said to my kids! Too funny.

Once everything has settled down, please let us know how your husband’s surgery goes.

B.E., I was thinking about you and your Ancestry.com project last night when I saw a commercial. I was wondering how it was going. I didn’t realize you were doing it for a Mother’s Day gift for your mom–that is such a great gift!

I totally should have yelled TREASURE HUNT! Wish I’d thought of that, LOL!

Silver! Sheesh, how can so much bad luck get crammed into so few days? That’s got to be a record! I’m so sorry. First, I hope everybody is okay, and second, really hoping your air conditioner isn’t too expensive. That makes me shudder.

I totally want Siri! I’m going to find a way to make her bark and call her my pet :-)

Kat – I keep you and your husband in my prayers several times a day. I will be saying even more with relation to the eye surgery, praying that all is well.

Jenn – You will love that phone. I’m computer challenged but hubs is even worse so I have to show him how to use the phone. It’s kind of funny. The boys think we’re so clueless ;).

Viki, LOL on the boys! My sons are annoyed that we don’t care about things like Netflix. I’m pretty proficient at the computer, yet I think I’m going to go for the simpler iPhone over the Droid. But then, I may decide not to spend the money at all :-)

I didn’t realize it either until a few days ago LOL. And today I traced my mom’s tree back to the Mayflower. Yep, I’m one of those people now. ;o)
