Enough Teasing…

I had a good weekend.  For days, okay a week, I’ve been needling Wizard a little bit. Saying things like, “When I get Siri (my new iPhone with the voice feature named Siri)…

Perhaps I’ve said it too much. Wizard knows how bad I want this iPhone.  So yesterday morning, I was just leaving the house to meet Biker Witch for coffee. As I drove down my street, I realized I hadn’t checked my old flip phone.  Biker Witch could have sent me a text or called (my phone sometimes doesn’t ring or alert me). So while driving down my street, I flipped open the phone for a quick check.

No text. But I found a label on my phone that read, “Hi! I’m Siri!”

OMG! I had to pull over I was laughing so hard. Score one for Wizard! That was too funny. I have no idea when he did that with his beloved label maker.

But I’m still getting my iPhone if he would just make up his mind on what kind of phone he wants.

Okay, now for the news. I’m actually pretty excited about this: I’ve sold a book to Entangled Publishing. It’s a digital first publisher that I’m hearing great things about. Jennifer Probst has hit the bestseller lists with her Entangled books.

The working title of the book is A HERO’S TOUCH. It’s a contemporary love story in the shorter format of category (Harlequin Desire, Special Edition etc). The pitch is:

When Adam Waters returns home from the Marines his first thought is of Megan, the girl he left behind. Though Megan’s heart was broken by him, she never stopped loving the father of her child. Can Megan find the courage to tell Adam about his son, and will Adam forgive her or leave forever?

This is a very fresh different direction for me.  Adam is home from the Marines and has opened a security agency with some of his buddies, who I hope will get their own books.  I think of this new venture as my Broken Heroes: Broken in Battle and Healed in Love.

Naturally, I am not leaving paranormal. At this point, I still plan to write CAGE MAGIC around writing the book for Entangled.

So how was your weekend?

LOL Cute story of how Wizard got you :). Hopefully he’ll decided on a phone soon so you can really have Siri speak to him.

Congratulations on your new venture with Entangled. How exciting.

A contemporary book – I like the idea behind it. The broken heroes should be great.

My weekend was okay. Hubs was supposed to leave for OR yesterday but his flight was cancelled. So my plans got changed. I had planned on going to the movies but his being home stopped that. Better to have him home :). I think he will go to AZ on Tuesday now.

    Have a nice day.

Congrats on the book deal. That is wonderful news.

Also, congrats to Wizard, that was FUNNY.

Saw Avengers this weekend and that was the highlight. Awesome film!!

Congratulations! That’s awesome, Jen. The book sounds great. I can’t wait to read it – especially now that I’ve gotten over my dislike of ebooks. =o) That Wizard of yours cracks me up.

It was a quiet weekend here. The hubs had to work most of it, so it was just me in this big old house, reading Allison Brennan’s new book – Silenced. And also reading a funny memoir I picked up for Kindle (for PC since I still don’t have an ereader) called The Feedstore Chronicles by Travis Erwin. Allison is awesome, as always, and Travis is a hoot.

Me and the kids cleaned the house. My parents are coming on Friday to visit from OH. 8-O I am 40+ but my mom still has the power to make me self conscience about my house keeping.

My husband is recovering. He had a preventive proceedure on his left eye so that he will hopefully not lose sight in it.

    Viki- How is your bother-in-law?

BE- Thank you for the cards.

Jen- Spread your writing wings as far as they will go. :-D Mysteries, Paranormal now Contempary. You deserve to sore as high as the wind of change and oppurtunity will take you.

Yay, Jen! I’m excited that you are branching out. Love the idea for this new series! I think you’ll be awesome at the contemporaries. Congrats on the contract. I hear good things about Entangled.

My weekend was crazy. I participated in a paranormal panel at a local writer’s conference and sat between the psychic and the ghosthunter. Yeah. Totally bizarre, right? Fun but weird. ;)

Last week and this weekend, I fought the formatting and I think the formatting won. 8-O That said, I uploaded my my newest venture to Kindle and it’s now “live” on Amazon. BLOOD MOON is on sale this week and free to read for Amazon Prime members.

Congrats on your book deal! That’s super awesome news!!

Your Wizard sounds as ornery as my hubster! haha

I had an somewhat relaxing weekend. Which I think we need every now and again. But I was so happy, Friday I hit page 9 on my book! Woo-hoo! It’s all about baby steps. :)

Kat – He’s not doing well. They decided that the chemo they were giving him to try and prolong his life 6 months or so was just too much for him. But they want to go in and unfold his lung. The lower portion kind of flipped up and is causing awful pain. He’s reluctant to do this figuring he may never come out of the hospital. He really wants to be in the surroundings of his home when the time comes. I can’t blame him.
I’m keeping your hubby and family in my prayers. Sure am praying hard that the surgery is a success.
Where in Ohio do your parents live? We live in Geauga County near Chagrin Falls.

Viki, I could just get my phone of course, but then he’ll keep putting off getting a new phone and he needs one. Wizard is pretty funny and sneaky. I have no idea when he did it and he won’t tell me.

I’m sorry your plans were change for both you and your hubby. You sound like it’s okay for you, but I’m annoyed by stuff like that.

I just read your last comment regarding your brother in law. I’m so sorry. This is a very sad time. I hate that he’s in pain from the lung, it sounds horrible just to imagine it. Yet I do understand his reasoning. I’m really sorry all of you are going through this.

B.E., you read on your computer? Well..okay. I love my Kindle! It’s not a Kindle Fire, I only ready on it. I do have 3G so I can download a book most anywhere. But I just love it.

Thanks on the sale. It was the easiest sale I ever made. Now all I have to do is make the book good :-) By the way, my agent was the one who suggested Entangled.

I’m hearing good things about Allison’s book! She hit some lists with it too. Yay! The other one I haven’t heard of.

Kat, I really hope the surgery works for your husband. Boy, he’s been through a lot lately.

I have the cards all ready to mail out today :-)

    LOL on your mom coming!

And thank you on my sale. I appreciate that.

Silver CONGRATULATION ON THE RELEASE OF BLOOD MOON! I’ll go over and buy it as soon as I’m finished here! So excited for you!

That panel sounds like a total blast! Wish I’d been there!

I’ve written contemporaries before, but this is such a nice change right now. Really enjoying it!

Ashlynn, I’m so excited to hear you’ve done nine pages! I’ve written a few books, and I can tell you, they are ALL about baby steps! Especially on the dreaded first draft! I’m really proud of you!

Thank you on the sale. I’m pleased. Much more excited than I thought I would be.

Chagrin Falls really :-D That’s near Zanesville right? I use to go up that way to visit my grandmother along time ago. My parents are in Jefferson County South of Stubenville and North of Wheeling WV.

It is a small world. I pray for you all also. Each individual has the right to decide for themselves what they want to endure for the quality of their lives. Surgery is not always the answer but pain management is really important to keeping ones outlook and sprit healthy. No easy answers right. Just support and acceptance.

    You’re so welcome, Kat. =o)

I just finished Allison’s book, Jen. It totally rocked. And as for Travis, he’s a blog buddy of mine from way back. The Feedstore Chronicles is a memoir of his teen years working for a disreputable character at a feedstore and the antics they all got into. I’m not far in, but it’s pretty funny.

Jen, congrats on the new book(s)…. I have to laugh over the Siri antics. It’s just so different here. RenMan is a techno gadget geek and I find myself with all these gadgets even when I don’t want them. Mainly, because he wants to play with them and he looks good if he buys them for me. So considerate of him.

Silver, I’m going to download your book today!
