Weekend Roundup

I can’t believe it’s Monday! The weekend was good. BLB is doing really well, getting around with a cane mostly right now. He’ll  probably walking on his own again soon. He’s pushing it a bit, but he’s smart and knows his limits.

Bailey’s been here all weekend, and still here today. Not sure when we’ll take him home. He’s just hanging and happy. In fact, this is what he looked like last night after a busy day of lizard hunting in the back yard:

As for my, by Saturday I needed to work, and Wizard and BLB were absolutely great about it, so I got a lot done. I’m heading to the ending scenes in my draft. I’ll have it done in a few days. That will give me time to revise and clean up before my July 15th deadline.

I’m also addicted to the New Species Series by Laurann Dohner.  I’m on VALIANT which is book three.

So how was your weekend?

Glad to hear that BLB is doing well. The medication also known as Bailey does wonders ;).

Love that photo. Bailey looks worn out – so cute.

Yay for being up on a cane! Way to go, BLB! You’re a rockstar. Oh man, Jen, you really tuckered poor Bailey out. Good thing he’s rechargeable. ;o)

The weekend? We had a weekend? I was busy tending to Hubs with his stomach flu, avoiding the 100+ temps, and trying to get some writing done. I rolled over 44k on the rewrite, so that’s somethin’. I also did a boatload of reading. Finished Silver’s Bad Moon on Friday and her Hunter’s Moon yesterday. They were awesome, but now I’m sad I have to wait for more Wolves.

Shaking pompoms for BLB! Bailey the Great Lizard Hunter? Too cute. :D So happy you are homing in on that final scene, Jen! Like B.E., we stayed in and avoided the heat. I finished the final line/copy edits for FAERIE FOOL and sent it back to Ms. Editor 1.0. Today, I’ve got to knuckled down and get the edits and revisions done on BEST LAID PLANS for Ms. Editor 2.5. Once that’s off my desk I can get back to Sean, Harjo, and Zev, my next three Wolves.

B.E., sooooo glad you enjoyed them. I saw on Goodreads that I made you cry in HUNTER’S MOON. *bwahaha* My work there is done.

    Have a great week, witches!

Viki, how is your brother in law?

Bailey’s been good for all of us :-)

B.E., Thanks on BLB. He’s doing great. We know the reality, but hey, progress is progress.

Revising 44K is pretty damn good, congratulations!

Now that I’ve read my loaned books, I’m going to read BAD MOON and HUNTER’S MOON!

Silver, you’re racing along now that you’ve broken that dry spell (writing dry, not heat dry) you were enduring! Congrats on that! I’ve got to catch up before you write more wolves :-)

In a lot of ways, Silver, you really inspire me. Just thought I’d mention that.

Bailey loves chasing lizards. The lizards, however, refuse to play with him and hide, LOL!

Ashlynn, 106 is unbearable! We haven’t hit those temps yet, but we will. I’m already grumbling about the heat, but you all have it worse right now.

It’s amazing how much better dogs can make us feel. It’s also interesting to watch how quickly Bailey gets a grasp on the situation. He quickly understood that BLB had something done to that leg again, but is still pretty mobile. When I change the dressing on the small wounds, he sits very still and watches me. But he’s not acting any where near as worried an protective as last time when BLB was laid flat and miserable.

Hey Jenn – Thanks for asking.

Joe passed last night around 9. John was over there on Sat. to mow the couple acres for Julie. When he got there Joe was still kind of there but when he was ready to leave Joe was non-responsive. Since John was the only sibling of the 7 that Joe would allow to see him the sisters showed up Sat night. The brothers never came. Yesterday John and I went over and John spent time with Joe but wouldn’t let me see him. He said it was just too much.

I spent several hours with Julie and I could tell it really helped her. Honestly, I think she is one of the strongest people I know but she has to let the flood gates open. She has been a rock for the 8 months they’ve known about the cancer.

I’ve been enjoying picturing Bailey lizard hunting :). Does he gift them to you or to BLB? My cat always gave me the mice he caught :).

    Have a great day.

Viki, I’m truly sorry for all of you. I’m hoping the John’s passing and no longer suffering will be some comfort. It’s been a long 8 months for all of you and you must be tired, along with grieving.

I sure it helped Julie to have you with for some time this weekend. She probably felt “safe” to let go with you. In these situations, visitors often unintentionally put those closest to the sick person in the position of comforting them. But she knew she could lean on you.

I”m sorry his other brothers weren’t there. I hope the family can pull together now to be there for each other.

Take care of yourself Viki. You need rest too.

Oh, Viki. Condolences to John, you, Julie, and all the family. Joe is beyond pain now and the rest of you will cope by your shared love for him. Peace, my friend.
