Weekend Roundup

We had a blast Saturday night at Wizard’s reunion. I thought I’d have pictures but I ended up leaving Siri (my iPhone) in car, so I didn’t take pictures. I did that because I was carrying a really small purse and didn’t want to mess with my cell phone.

Wizard insists that Sami (his Samsung cell phone) make Siri cry and she HID in the car.  NOT TRUE! Siri is a smart phone that can do everything but make coffee and Sami is so dumb, he can’t do anything but text and make calls.

Back to the reunion.  We really did have fun, but it was the worst food ever. And I had to eat because Wizard started off the night by getting me a Gin and Tonic. I am a lightweight drinker, and was starved. So I ate…I’m not sure what it was…lasagna maybe? Mostly I ate a mystery pasta salad that tasted a lot like the stable clothes and green salad.

Then I spotted the dessert table.  Which I pointed out to Wizard and we strolled over there.  “Dessert” was a bunch of store bought, economy-sized cookies piled on a plate.

I was not a happy witch about that. However, seeing everyone Wizard grew up with more than made up for the awful food.  Such a great night, then we got home late and we were wiped out Sunday. I read part of Wolf Moon (Silvers latest release!) and sort of just hung around thinking about all the things I should be doing.

In other news, I’m having trouble getting started on the next installment of my secret project. So…I’ve turned my attention to the house much to Wizard’s distress. First, on Friday, I offered to go with him to the Home Depot, and he ended up spending the rest of the day replacing towel racks in the guest bathroom and touch up painting. Saturday morning I cajoled him into going furniture shopping, but we couldn’t find anything. So I showed him granite counter tops and new back splash  I want in the kitchen…

Then Sunday I mentioned how if we keep all the old stuff in the house this is the time to try getting a dog again…

Now he’s begging me to please, PLEASE, go back to writing.  Bwhahaha!!

How was your weekend?

The reunion sounds like fun if you negate the cookies ;).

It’s funny but at the wedding they only had sweet wine – YUCK! and no Bloody Mary mix so I had a gin and tonic too. I hadn’t had one since college. The dessert table here was unreal – so much yummy goodies. We had fun.

I like the distractions you’ve come up with while the writing works it’s way to a resolution. I have granite and it’s so pretty. Wizard will love it too once it’s in so I’d keep working that if I were you. I makes baking even more fun because you can play right on the surface.

    Have a wonderful day!

My friend wasn’t able to go with me to the book club on saturday. So I went by myself. I am glad I went. Even with having a scary food contest- I took some cajen voodoo brew ( a cajen chicken gumbo soup)- the food was great and inventive. Of course their were the eyeballs in the apple cider punch but their were these really cute witches hat cookies, pumpkin chilli, and devil eggs with spiders on top. The spiders were actually sliced black olives. It was neat.

The guest author Pamela Palmer talked with us for an hour and a half. It was nice to be around other readers again. I am definately going again next month. :-D

I’m glad you guys had fun at the reunion (despite the nacky food). Poor Wizard. You definitely need to get back to writing if you’re thinking about home improvement projects. Sorry the sekrit project isn’t cooperating.

I ate too much this weekend. I ended up making two loaves of apple-cranberry bread and because I had apples and cranberries left over, I made a apple-cranberry crisp, too. OMG, so yummy. But I had to use up the apples… yeah, that’s the ticket. No writing here, either, but I did spend the weekend thinking about writing. You know, when I wasn’t watching football or reading or baking.

Viki, ugh on sweet wine! Biker Witch likes it, but prefer bolder, drier wines. But the wedding was fun, and awesome desserts!

We will get granite eventually. We planned to do a big project this year then BLB broke his leg and that hit our budget :-) So we’re going to start smaller.

I must stop baking! My eating is out of control, but I went back to the gym today. If my back/side will just behave, that will help.

Kat that sounds like so much fun! I love your voodoo brew :-) Pumpkin chili? I think I’m going to look that up out of curiosity. I bet Pamela Palmer was interesting, she’s doing very well!

B.E., LOLOL!! I baked too :-) I made egg white cookies which are pretty healthy but I added Kahlua and mini chocolate chips. Your bread sounds great.

We all need a break. I’m trying to take a little break from reading (aside from Silver’s book which I’m half way through).

I’ll get back into writing and forget about home improvement, it happens every time. Wizard knows he just has to wait me out on that:-)
