Wednesday Worthy

This is wild. We haven’t even started out official promo of OBSESSION yet (Carla and I are both a little frazzled right now) and the book just took off.  Here’s what I know — there’s just no predicting what will happen with a book.

Readers are in control.

And these days with self publishing, I think readers have even more say in what takes off and what doesn’t. It used to be we (readers)  were at the mercy of what the publishers and book buyers in the bookstores decided to put out for the public to see.

But now readers can find any book they want to online. That gives them more power than ever. As a reader, I really love that!

But enough of my rambling :-)  Just to let you all know, I think the official blog tour starts on the 14th. I’ll get that info up soon. Now let’s move on!

Here’s our Wednesday Worthy candidate that I snagged from Twitter.  Say hello to Hugh Jackman:

What do you guys think? Is he worthy?

I just spent the past 2 days reading the entire Kat and Sloane series all in a row. Forget Hugh Jackman. I’ve found something more important – a new author!! I adored those three books – love the characters – loved the drama of the bad guys – loved the heart and soul of Drake – loved it all. Just wow. Now I’m off to see what else you’ve written because I’m a new hooked fan!

When is Hugh not a worthy pick – NEVER!!! That man would be hot coming out of dental surgery with spittle running down his chin ;).

I am SO happy for you. OBSESSION is fantastic. I think back to your worry about that one scene and you were right to let it stand. That is Sloane and Kat handled him well.

I think I’m going to clean some windows today. I was looking out into the woods yesterday and thought – YUCK. We’re supposed to have good weather for a few days so the time is right.

    You have a great day!

PS – Congratulations on snagging a new reader in nan :).

:sigh: Hugh… You can never go wrong with Hugh. =o)

Obsession seriously rocked, Jen. And like I said in my review, you made me cry. Damn you. =op That last scene with Drake… :sniffle: Very powerful. Of course, I loved the whole series but you did the other two books justice by wrapping it up with Obsession. I’m so glad other readers are seeing what I see and buying the hell out of your books.

Sorry you and Carla are swamped. As always, you have a place over at The Guide to guest post and talk about your books any time you want. Just let me know.

*waves to Nan* Enjoy the joy that is Jen Lyon/Apodaca’s books! Don’t be a stranger, especially since we’re a friendly group of Jen’s fans.

Jen? Uhm…TOLD YOU SO!!!!! I loved the trilogy, the last one was a perfect wrap-up, and I think you made us all cry! I love how you can mix sex and emotion so effectively. Yes, I’m jealous.

Oh, and Hugh? Back off, witches! He’s MINE!!!! ;)

I can not read every one else’s comments since I have to wait till Friday to get my hands on Obsession.

Welcome Nan. I stopped by 2years ago and they haven’t got rid of me yet. Jen has some great books for you to catch up on. Her Wing Slayer Series is my comfort reading that has got me through some times when only a good story would help. Yes I have read them over 50 times each but they still make me cry. I love it.

Wend eye candy helps too.

Hi Nan and welcome! Thank you so much! Kat, Sloane and Drake have owned my heart for a long time now, and I’m honored to share them with you and all readers!

Stop by again whenever you have time!

Viki, dental surgery??? LOLOL!! Now there’s an image!

Thanks on my worrisome scenes. On the upside, I let the characters pretty much have their way in this book. I wasn’t going to win anyway :-) But I do worry…not that that’s a surprise to any of you :-)

Clean windows? Huh, well it’s always worth the work once it’s done! It’s rainy here so I’m just planning to work.

B.E., your review was awesome, thank you! I never know if I hit the mark or not.

I’d love to guest at your blog, I just need to get some time.

And being swamped–it’s stressful and all, but I’m grateful as hell to be in this position so I’m not complaining! By next year, all the work could evaporate.

Silver, thank you! You hit on one of my favorite subjects as a writer/speaker. Sex and emotion. It’s rarely there in my first draft, and I have to work hard to weave it all together. Generally, the sex scene has to have a purpose; either revealing something or growing the character.

And I’ll stop! You know all this, I just love talking about it!

Is there going to be a fight over Hugh? LOL!

Kat, that’s smart of you to avoid reading comments. Everyone is trying to be careful, but you’re smart and will piece things together.

    Glad you enjoy our hunks!

YAY!!! See! I told you to stop worrying that OBSESSION was going to kick butt! You’re awesome! I’m so glad it’s over though so you can try and relax a bit. That is, until the next release.  Luv ya!!!
