I’m so sorry for not answering on Friday–I’m stretched a little thin struggling to make this book come together. I’m pretty much ripping apart scenes rewriting and trying to get to The End.
So Saturday Wizard comes in the house and says, “Is the water in the tea kettle still hot?
“No, I made my tea a long time ago.”
There was dead silence in the kitchen and I kept working. Finally I hear, “Um Witch, how long has this tea bag been steeping?”
Totally confused, I said, “What tea bag? I drank mine a long time ago.” I’m sure I did, right? So I got up and walked into the kitchen and there it was–my stone cold tea with the tea bag still in it.
That’s pretty much what my weekend was like. I’m not working out (Bad Witch!), just working with desperate fever as this book went totally off the rails at some point and I’m trying to lasso it back into something workable. I’m also trying to clean the house and making my shopping list for T-Day. Wizard is helping out everywhere he can.
That was one of MANY incidents this weekend. So today, Wizard is off work but he headed out to a car show with Middle Son. I was invited but can’t go because The Freaking Book.
So how was your weekend?
P.S. to B.E., to answer your question from Friday, so far the boxed set will only be available as an electronic book. I plan to get it into print, but I never seem to find the time to tackle it.
I almost forgot to put up a blog. Time is going so fast–I can’t believe this. And while I’m loving this book more each day, I’m not getting it done fast enough. Which of course means I wake up at 2 am in a cold sweat
In a little happy news I have I have a cover to share (you may have seen it on FB)
I’ll be releasing THE PLUS ONE CHRONICLES in a Boxed Set in December. It’s at the formatters now.
This weekend I’ll be working frantically on writing and cleaning for T-Day. How about you?
It turned out to be a packed weekend but we did get to see THOR on Saturday Night. I have to confess, I liked the first one better. But there were parts of this one I really liked too.
Yesterday I took a break and met Biker Witch (my sister) for coffee. It’s hilarious how I “plan” for about an hour then glance and my watch and do the classic double take 2 and 1/2 hours later.
Thanksgiving is growing…LOLOL!! And you know what? It’s a good problem to have so I’m not going to whine. Everyone is pitching in (Biker Witch volunteered before I could ask her!), no one is going to care if the house if sparkling clean or not and we’ll have fun.
And the book–I’m making slow but steady progress and really loving Logan and Becky, but there’s a lot of work ahead of me to “show” who they are in the book so the reader can love them too. That’s one of the truly terrifying parts of writing–if I fail, I not only fail the readers (which kills me) but I fail these characters who are trusting me with their story. Yeah, I know how that sounds, but just nod and pretend that doesn’t sound crazy
So how was your weekend?
This is not fair. Wizard has a day off and I don’t. There is going to be some serious pouting going on around here. Although we’re going to try to see THOR so I might be over it.
Maybe
Although I’m going to get my hair color corrected today. Because nature keeps screwing with my hair color then I have to get it “fixed”. Plus my bangs are in my eyes.
Otherwise, my butt’s in my chair and I’m trying to write! This book must happen! And I’m juggling a couple other things too because life doesn’t stop for deadlines.
What are you all doing this weekend?
