Weekend Roundup

Saturday was wonderful to see old friends! Long day, but so much fun!  There is nothing like seeing long-time friends…it’s a nostalgic, grateful feeling to know that these are the people who are always there no matter whatever else happens in our lives.  Every passing day I appreciate my friends more and more.

In other news, CPA Boy and Special K didn’t get the dog Buttercup (he’s in a great home!), but it looks like they are getting this dog. Here’s Corky sleeping in the sun:

Corky Sunbathing

He’s a three-year old rescue. I haven’t met him in person yet, but he looks like a sweetheart! They have to make sure it works out with their other dog.

Hmm…if it doesn’t work out, will Corky need a new home…at my house? Just asking!

This week, I’m working, working, working!

So how was your weekend?

Sounds like Jen has a back up plan for Corky in the works ;). He does look so sweet, I’m sure he’ll fit in at CPA boy and Special K’s. Being 3 should make it easier.

So happy to hear that you had a great time at RWA meeting and that you got to spend time with your friend. You’re right, I value my friends more as I get older. It takes effort at times to stay in touch but it’s truly worth it.

We bought an animated light up deer. Hubs and son put it together with the help of Spunk. How funny was this to watch – VERY. Hub – Spunk don’t bite the light bulbs – Spunk don’t chew the wire…… Finally, Spunk I thought we could play with this a bit in the house first but you’re not cooperating. Out the deer went ;).

    Have a great day!

I’m so happy you had a nice time with your friends. =o) And yes, if the kids can’t take Corky, you definitely should. He looks laid back. (Of course, that pic could be a rare tired moment, but still…)

Well, I started off raking leaves Saturday morning, but then we weren’t sure where we were going to put them, so I decided to make a little path in the woods – just to have a place to dump the leaves. Yeah, well… It turned into a two-day project creating a full blown path that tacks back and forth across our sloped woodlands to the bottom of the hill. I’m sore, but it sure is nice to get back in there without worrying about tripping over logs, stepping in a hole or finding a copperhead the hard way.

Viki- Why is it that men think they can reason with a kitten? Spunk has your husband wrapped around her paw.

BE I would say as another woodland resident that it is too cold for copperheads but I know better. Be careful they are still active in the cold weather. Make sure to clear brush or bushes away from any chimney you have. They will hibernate right up against the bricks for the warmth.

    Jen – Corky is cute.

My plan for the weekend worked with my husband. But today he is home with the kids who have no school today for veteran’s day. I hope the place is still standing when I get home later.

Thank you to all those that have served and are still far away from home protecting our country. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Quick check in–I’m a little slammed right now but will try to answer individually later today!

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend! I survived the sinus crude. Got words down. Worked with my cover artist on ideas. And pretty much stayed in bed. Lawyer Guy cleared leaves out of the backyard yesterday. The boys tried to help by tracking in all the leaves the blower/mower missed. Gotta love long-haired dogs.

Oh, and The Only called this morning. We know for sure what the grandbaby will be. Their nursery theme? Snoopy Dr. Who. We have our work cut out for us with the decor! :D

To any veterans and active duty personnel and their families, thank you for your service, today and all days!

Thanks for the heads-up, Kat. We don’t have a chimney, but it’s good to be aware. Hubs already found a cottonmouth in the crawl space, getting comfy for winter.
