Weekend Roundup!

I’ve missed you all! I’ve been working at a crazy pace. I have the book completely drafted, now I’m going through to fix and clean it up for my editor to read.  I’m too close to even guess if the book is good, bad or blah. Let’s all cross our fingers!

Thanksgiving here was awesome. I got up around five thirty to get a couple hours of work in then jumped right into T-Day work.  Everything turned out great. The only downside was Middle Son, and BLB couldn’t be here as they work retail.  We really missed them and Bailey Dog.  Otherwise, it was great! Everyone, including Biker Witch, really pitched in to help which makes it even more fun. All the wine didn’t hurt either :-)

So my tall. hot blonde niece who is in her mid twenties comes in the kitchen and say, “Aunt Jennifer can I have some wine? Please?”

I look at her and she’s just too gorgeous. Seriously. So I say, “Ask me like a blonde.”

She goes all valley girl on me and says “Please????”  I cracked up. I love my family. My nieces are so many flavors of awesomesauce I adore them. They never even blink when I do this stuff to them. They just play along.

I gave her the wine ;-) (She’s old enough and wasn’t driving)

Around all my writing, Wizard and I found time to watch a great movie, THE VOW with Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.  We just randomly chose this movie and really liked it.  Then Saturday night Wizard and I went out to dinner and had a blast together.  Later that night, we were watching TV when Wizard turns to me and says, “We still have fun when it’s just the two of us. I love that.”

And that why, even though he might have some control issues (we bickered for three days over HOW to thaw a turkey.  I won because I’m right and Wizard pouted), he’s a keeper.

So how was your Thanksgiving? And Weekend?

You are so funny. I’m glad you had such a nice Thanksgiving. Crazy fun families make our lives ;). So sorry Bailey and the boys weren’t able to be there.

My Thursday was very nice. It was just hubs and youngest son. Friday was our family dinner and it was great. PeeWee came and the meeting between him and Spunk didn’t go all that smooth. Previously I was the only person to have heard the kitten hiss. Well we have all heard it now. By the time PeeWee was packing up to leave the two decided to be civil. The thought is PeeWee was being held and had him sweater on so was more controlled. I don’t know. I think if they were around each other they’d be friends.

I’m so happy to hear you’ve gotten so far with the book. Having that weight lifted must be great.

    Have a fantastic day!

Yay for getting the book drafted! And for having fun times with your family (even if MS and BLB couldn’t be there). But the biggest yay is for you two still enjoying each others’ company. =o)

TGD was quiet here. Loads of food and relaxation. I called my mom and then my daughter called me. The circle of life. LOL As for the weekend, I hit my NaNo 50K on Saturday and then took yesterday off. Did some reading – JB Lynn’s Nearly Departed was awesome – and watched some football, plus the satellite company was giving me free movie channels this weekend, so I watched some stuff. Now it’s time to get back to work and crank out the last 30-40K words on this WIP before the end of the year.

Viki, I bet if you keep at it with PeeWee and Spunk they’ll learn to at least tolerate each other. But I’m picturing an interesting T-Day with them hissing and growling :-)

I cam’t believe how much I missed Bailey :-( I expected to miss the two boys, but I also respect that they are both doing what they needed to do. But Bailey should have been there, getting underfoot and trying to help me cook.

All I can say about the book is my editor is a saint. She’s totally rolling with my slight delay in getting it to her. And I know she’ll find the weak spots, etc.

Hope you have a great day too!

B.E., the day before Thanksgiving when I was frantically writing, prepping food and cleaning, I was thinking of you and your quiet Thanksgiving with a huge envy :-) But it turned out so much fun. Although I like the quiet years too.

CONGRATS on hitting your goal of 50K!! I’m seriously impressed!

I’m glad everyone had a good Turkey Day. Mine started too early. The parents and I went to NYC to visit my sister and BIL. We stayed in Detroit Wednesday night and got up at 3am to catch our flight Thursday morning at 6. (Ewwwwwwww!) We watched the parade on TV, ate, talked and played with the cats. They have four! She’s turned into a crazy cat lady ;) Friday we didn’t do much of anything. Just sat around and relaxed. Saturday we went to see my BIL’s piece in an art show. Maybe I’m predjudiced, but I think his was the best one there. Then we came home that afternoon.

Yay on the draft! And your Thanksgiving sounds like fun. We were quiet, mostly. Only (with Magic Bean evident) and Baseball Boy came over Wednesday night for turkey sandwiches, pumpkin pie, and a batch of my homemade rolls. They took a pan of cinnamon rolls with them for morning eating before they hit the road to the in-laws. Thursday, Lawyer Guy and I met his partner at a favorite Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant for dim sum. Totally untraditional but way fun! The rest of the weekend was spent reading, catching up on DVR’d shows, college football, and naps. I finished NaNo early so also spent some time on the sooper sekrit project.

Did you get my email? *waggles brows* No big, just a bit of inspiration for you, hopefully.

Dawn, your holiday sounds fun and relaxing! Too funny on Cat Lady. Kittys can be highly amusing.

I totally trust your opinion that BIL’s art piece was the best!

Silver, congrats on finishing early for NANO! That super secret project needs your undivided attention :-)

That must be so awesome to see evidence of Magic Bean!

I got your emails, thanks so much!
