Happy Friday

Only five days until Christmas!

I ran out of time to write a blog–I’ll try to write more on Monday.  Right now, Wizard and I just finished making peanut butter balls and we used Ghirardelli melting wafers–first time I’ve ever used them and so far I love them. So if you’re doing any candy making, they are a good option. And also this was Wizard’s first time making rolling and dipping peanut butter balls–he did great!

My shopping is done (or it had better be!) and most of my wrapping is done. We have a family party on Saturday, and I’ll be baking all day today and Saturday morning.  The complication is my bad ankle is acting up so I may have to cut back on what I planned to do.  I saw my doctor yesterday and he’s ordered an MRI against my wishes–he actually tricked me into agreeing to it– I’m rather impressed :-)  And no worries–this isn’t a big deal, just annoying and slowing me down.

What are your weekend plans?

Take it easy with that ankle. You don’t want to mess it up more and be in pain when Bailey comes to visit. You need to be in top form so you can have tons of fun.

I’ve never made the peanut butter balls. They call them Buckeyes here – strange Ohioans ;). I love to eat them. It must be fun getting Wizard in on the action.

Have a great time at the party. Our family party in Sunday. Hubs family is huge and getting bigger. I think 4 more babies are due in a few months. It will be crazy Sunday.

I’m still waiting on 2 pkgs. Both trackings said they were out for delivery yesterday but never showed up. Hope they arrive today.

Have a wonderful weekend and take it slow.

I’m sitting here doing the whole ‘wait, what day is it’ thing. I’m totally lost.

I’ve never made peanut butter balls or really any candy other than fudge. They sound yummy, but like more work than I’m willing to put forth. Go you! and go Wizard for being an awesome helper!

Most of my family is getting together this weekend up in Michigan. I’ll hear all about it during my Monday call to Mom. The Kid can’t go ‘cuz she’s working, but she’s trying to get a train ticket to see my Mom on Christmas Day, so it’s all good. Take care of that ankle so you have plenty of stamina for the holidays. :hugs:

No big plans here. The usual – reading, writing, football, critter watching. This area is under a flood watch for tomorrow, but so far, it’s not even raining. Flooding doesn’t really effect us because we’re near the top of a big hill (ah, the Ozarks), and I already laid in enough supplies so we don’t have to go anywhere.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Christmas can’t be ONLY five days away! *muppet flail* We have no tree up. No outside lights/decorations (beyond the wreath on the door.) No inside decorations beyond Christmas tablecloth and centerpiece in the dining room. That will be rectified somewhat this weekend because an ice storm is due in tonight.

Did I mention no presents under the non-existent tree? *headdesk* I’m headed out shortly to lay in groceries and at least look for stocking stuffers.

Ugh about your ankle. I hope it clears up soon! Stay warm and dry this weekend, everyone, and Happy Shopping, Merry Decorating, and Happy-Merry cooking. :D
