Weekend Roundup

Great weekend, but not as productive as I’d have liked.  Saturday we ended up researching computers, and we’ve ruled out all the things we don’t want (Windows 8, an all-in-one) and narrowed down what we do want (fast processor!).  I’m being picky because I multitask a lot now,  and I need a computer that can keep up with me. Right now, I have to switch between my desktop and laptop to do everything I need to do–it’s crazy, believe me.

Sunday, sadly, Biker Witch wasn’t feeling up to lunch. I was bummed, but completely understood.  But it was a double bummer because BLB (youngest son) happened to come by and was going to go to lunch with us. But I didn’t mention that to Biker Witch–she was miserable enough without me telling her she missed out on seeing her nephew.

Umm…hmm…if she reads this blog, she’ll find out. Yeah, not one of my best plans, LOL!

In book news, I’ve hired a narrator for The Proposition. My ultimate plan is to have him do all three books and release them quickly so listeners aren’t left hanging too long, but I’m taking my time on this first on. I’m thrilled with the narrator. The decision to go with a male voice was interesting and there were some fantastic auditions to choose from.  Everyone has their own preference, but in the end, I went with the narrator that handled the material the best.  As soon as I get a little further along, I’ll tell you all who he is. He has a fantastic voice and has a way of drawing the reader into the story instead of feeling like the story is just being read to you.

Otherwise, this book I’m working on now is going to consume my life.

How was your weekend?

Sorry your lunch plans fell through. I hope Biker Witch feels better soon. Did you and BLB go out? I hope so.

I agree with you on your computer. Windows just updated on me Thursday and wiped out all of my info. All my favorites GONE. Which means I have no links to sites I generally go to daily. I’vw been able to figure out most of them but a few I have no idea. Can you see the smoke that came out of my ears? I was really ticked off. And I hate the new way it loads.

Then I had the hubs leave out a sponge. He knows the kitten eats everything. I am now watching him like a hawk because he ate about a half dollars worth of sponge.

So other than the birthday dinner with eldest son et al my weekend was not all that great.

I hope you have a wonderful day :)!

Sorry you missed out on lunch with Biker Chick. =o( Continued good luck wishes for your computer hunt. And yay for finding the right narrator. =o)

We had another quiet weekend here at The Hermitage (I’m playing at testing names for the place and since we’re pretty much hermits…) I’m keeping up with my resolution to take my writing more seriously and almost hit 36K on the rewrite last night. I read a bit. I’m reading Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith, and because it’s so detailed with lots of Russian names to stumble over, it’s slow going.

Hope Biker Witch is feeling better! Lawyer Guy has the flu again and he’s been hacking up a lung all weekend. :( Yay on getting to see BLB, though. Good luck on the computer. As comfortable as I am with Windows, I’ll still probably go with Mac when the Toasterbox goes to the great interwebz in the sky. Can’t wait to hear more about your narrator!

Have a great week, witches. :D

Hate to hear Biker Chick missed out on lunch, hope she gets feeling better soon. And woohoo on finding a awesome narrator. I can’t imagine how hard that would be to find.

I love techy things. I get obsessed with them from time to time. I want a new pc myself. Drummergurl got a Mac laptop for her birthday and she loves it! I’m with Silver on this one…that’s what I’ll get when I can. :) But I understand the need to handle multi-tasking. I don’t know enough about mac to know if it would work for you…but I know you will find exactly what you need. When you do, good luck with transferring everything over.

Oh Viki, I’d be furious too! That’s so weird. l hope you can recover your fave places, but then I’d be worried it will happen again.

Ugh on the sponge. Hopefully it’ll pass with no problems.

At least the birthday dinner was good!

BLB and I picked up some lunch and brought it back. We were having fun casting You Tube videos from my Kindle Fire to the TV. We’re not hard to entertain!

    B.E., Very cute name :-)

    You’re REALLY writing! Good!

We just have to order the computer and deal with getting it all set up. Soon (says the professional procrastinator!)

Silver, poor LG! Really hope he’s feels better soon.

I know people love Macs. We tend to stick with PCs but I bet I’d love them too.

Thanks on the narrator, I’m excited.

Ashlynn, it’s weird hearing the book read out loud. It took me awhile to get used to that!

I love tech stuff for a while, but when I’m working, I hate the learning curve with a passion. It always takes a ton more time to figure things out than I think it should.
