Weekend Roundup

Success!! We got the new computer/monitor/printer up and running! It’s such a relief, and I’m very happy. On top of that, we made a dent (only a dent!) in cleaning out some closets and re-organizing. The old computer is now up and running upstairs in a spare bedroom, all I need in there is a chair, side table and reading light and that room will be exactly what I want–a backup office and work space. I already have the chair picked out, just haven’t bought it yet.

Oh and while I was downloading some things we needed on the new computer–I picked up a malware. That gave me a bad moment, but I was able to find it and uninstall it, do some cleaning and it’s gone.  It’s ridiculous how pervasive that crap is. My anti-virus software is up and running now–it wasn’t at the time which was my mistake for sure.

All in all it was a productive weekend although I didn’t get much writing done. But with all the other stuff out of the way, I feel much better about this book.

Changing the subject, BLB (youngest son) dropped by Sunday morning unexpectedly.  That’s not all that unusual and of course, we’re thrilled to see him anytime.  What’s interesting is that he timed it to EXACTLY when I was cooking breakfast, so he scored homemade breakfast of bacon and pancakes. How do kids do develop that incredible timing?

After breakfast BLB was helping Wizard with something on the new printer and I pulled up pictures of chocolate candy cakes and asked BLB if he wanted this cake for his birthday that’s coming up in a few weeks:

Chocolate candy cake

So BLB and I are discussing this cake (he wants it!) and Wizard turns to the two of us. “Really Witch? Is this the time to talk about cake?”

BLB and I both answered, “There’s always time for cake.”

Wizard knew when he was beat and left us to make the important decisions involved his birthday cake (he’s insisting I also put M&Ms inside the cake while I’m picturing the Sugar Police and the Trans Fat Task Force teaming up to raid our home–BLB assures me that this won’t happen). Anyway once BLB and I agreed, he went back to helping Wizard.

And last thing for the day, I only caught a few minutes of The Kitten Bowl and The Puppy Bowl, but what I saw was so cute! I ignored the Super Bowl to do a little work but Wizard watched it.

How was your weekend?

You had a very productive weekend. Wish I could say the same. I didn’t do nearly as much weeding out of stuff as I had planned. Though I do have a large bag ready for Purple Heart on Tuesday. Sure hope I can added more today :).

Thank goodness you caught the malware right away. It never stops to amaze me how many creeps are out in the world. can’t they find something productive to do with their lives – gee!

That cake is too much fun. The sugar high is going to last days not hours after eating a piece. BLB must have a giant sweet tooth ;).

It’s a six sense that brings the boys home at meal time ;).

I watched some kitten bowl and puppy bowl but no super bowl. Hubs watched it too. I can’t be bothered. I get the commercial recap in the morning on GMA so I’m good.

    Have a great day!

Yay for the new ‘puter! And boo-hiss for the malware. The people who create that crap are sub-human. I’m glad you could get it cleaned off easily. LOL, that cake gives me sugar shock just looking at it. I watched a little bit of the puppy bowl and some of the Super Bowl – which was a total disappointment.

The weekend here was quiet and snowy. I don’t know how many inches we got, but it was way more than they predicted. Good thing I don’t really have to go outside if I don’t want to. Although, we might end up shoveling. On the upside, it’s really pretty. =o)

Viki, it was too cold where you are to do much of anything! For me, I put all my stuff out for the charity truck this morning. I still have more to do but we’re making progress.

Malware enrages me too, but it’s taken care of so we move on.

Boys must be born with the food-sense gene. It never fails to amaze me how they can show up when I’m cooking :-)

B.E., shoveling sounds like hard work to me :-) But at least the view would be pretty.

The games sounded boring given that it was pretty much a blowout.

I honestly think BLB gets a kick out of pushing me on the cake thing. Biker Witch (my sister) eggs him on because they both know I want to do cake MY way. I’ve given up that idea now and do whatever he likes, it’s his birthday. Now we have fun with it and all the rest of the family waits to see what craziness we come up with.

    Stay warm today!

I’m late getting around today. What a great idea for a “candy” dish that picture is! Kit-Kats tied with ribbon and filled with M&Ms. Mmmmm!

Glad the computer is up, boo-hiss on the malware. We drove around Saturday with Only and weeded out some of the houses on her list–either due to neighborhood or structural/repair work needed. She has about six on her list to go look at. I watched the Super Bowl to catch the commercials, which underwhelmed me for the most part. A few were memorable but the vast majority were big yawns.

If I don’t get some writing done this week, I’ll be stir crazy by Friday. Have a great week everyone!

Hubs did all the shoveling. I sat in the house and read. =oD

    Silver are you feeling better?

It took a ton of leg work for CPA Boy and Special k to find their house–hope it goes faster for Only, especially since shes’ got her own special edition in the making :-)

I’m looking forward to the challenge for making that cake. BLB and I have too much fun with this stuff on his birthday, and Wizard grumbles the entire time then he eats the cake.

    B.E., now that’s a plan I can get behind!

Ha! Special edition. Love that. :) I’m not sure I’ve shared here but they’ve decided on Liam for a name. :D

I’m much better, just in the middle of NRCA and it’s an absolute pain this year. I haven’t been able to devote any real time to writing in almost 2 months and I have all these ideas popping up, which is what happens when I *don’t* write. I’d hoped to squeeze some in today but didn’t manage it, so I’m going to get words written tomorrow. Or else! ;)

Glad you’re feeling better, Silver. Liam is a perfect name, I love it!

Sorry that NRCA is turning into such a time suck and PIA this year. Hope you can write tomorrow! (And yep, totally relate on this ideas sneaking up while we’re doing something else.)
