Weekend Roundup

The weekend was busy with work. I got line edits for COWBOY MARINE (title is changing) and that’s going to take up this week. They need to be done ASAP.  My poor work-in-progress keeps getting put on hold, and I so want to get Hunt and Alyssa’s story right–it’s nagging me incessantly. This book changed so much from my original plot, but I really like the friends-to-lovers thing they have going.  There’s also a Runaway Bride, Blackmail and I always seem to have a tortured hero in there too.

But right now, I need to get this line edits/revisions done. What’s really nice is the both editors who’ve worked on this book really like it. I’m relieved to hear that!  (You should hear poor Wizard when I tell him this–he can’t fathom why I’m always surprised, but I truly am.).

We did go look at a new housing track that we’d been waiting to open–but the one story house there just isn’t for us.  It’s always fun to look at new houses. It’s almost a hobby now. But it looks like we’ll be staying here for a while.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like you’re going to be in full on work mode with the line edits. It really must be a great feeling to know that both editors are happy with and like the book :).

Oh that must really be annoying having to put your writing on the back burner right now. It’s all in the normal way things go I guess but being a creative person I can see you dying to get back to it. Hopefully the edits will go fast and you can get back to writing.

Looking at houses is always fun. When the boys were little that was our Sunday activity. While looking at houses we’d stop at MacDonalds and get a large fry and eat it while driving. That would be the junk/fast food treat of the week.

Nothing much here this weekend. We’re getting things planned out for mulch deliveries and stuff outside. I also went Mother’s Day and Hubs/youngest son’s birthday present shopping.

I hope you have a really great day!

Good luck with your line edits. I’m with Wizard – I don’t find it surprising at all that both editors love your work. Sorry you’re having to put the WIP on hold, but you’ll get back to it and it’ll be awesome. Think of this as simmer time. ;o)

Looking at houses was our hobby for the first nine years. Now that we have the house, our hobby is fixing up the house. LOL

I didn’t get a whole lot of writing done this weekend, but I’m at 4 days in a row, so that’s definitely a win. And after complaining on FB last night that I couldn’t get on a roll, I rolled around in bed thinking about the story. Not sure if I found the path, but my brain sure did give me a workout. I might have to go back and rework the beginning… Ugh. But not now. Other than that, more landscaping work, and I bought new towels for the bathrooms. The highlights of my life.

Hubs will be starting the process to get to point of getting Dialysis soon. I am not resting really well. He is mess right now. I wish he would just explode and get it over with.

I understand logically why he is angry and afraid. But logic sucks when you are the one who bears the brunt of the emotional over spill.

My daughter and I had a great time on Saturday at a local library that hosted a Com Con day. I know I need to keep focusing on the moments of Sunshine through all the rain of life. I am going to find a really big umbrella.

Viki, Today I’m getting things accomplished so it’s all good!

LOL on the McDonald’s fry treats. My kids loved those too, and Wizard still does :-)

Hope you got an awesome Mother’s Day present!

B.E., buying new towels is exciting!

I feel you on thinking about our WIPs instead of sleeping. Hopefully, you’ll break through today.

Wizard gets annoyed that I “don’t believe it myself” that’s really not it, but that’s what he hears. It’s just a drive to get the story right that frustrates me into insecurity :-)

Oh Kat, I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s great that you can find those bright moments. That said, sometimes it’s very dark and cloudy in a caregiver/partners life. I’m thinking about you.
