Spin Cycle Edition

Sorry I’m late, we had a death in the family. Wizard’s aunt suddenly passed away. It was a shock, we’re all still trying to absorb it.  I have to say this year feels a lot like being in the spin cycle of a washing machine. There’s been so much going on that I just can’t keep up. But as far as Wizard’s aunt, as hard as it is, she lived a full life and we are going to celebrate that.

This weekend the boys are coming out for Middle Son’s birthday–and this is the time for us to all let go and have fun. Whenever we lose someone, it makes us all achingly aware of how fragile life can be. It’s important to grab on and create those memories that will bond us in the present and sustain us in the future. Otherwise, Wizard will be out helping his mom (it’s her sister that passed) with whatever needs to be done to handle his aunt’s passing.

What are you doing this weekend? I hope whatever it is, you have a great one!

P.S. Monday is Memorial Day here in the states, and with all that’s happening I’m not sure I’ll get a post up.

Jen, I’m so sorry. Heartfelt condolences to you and yours. Celebrating a life well lived is a balm to all the sadness. Happy Birthday to Middle Son and may all of you find peace and love in the arms of family.

I’ll be writing and since this is National BBQ month, will be fixing my world-famous brisket on Monday.

I’m so sorry  . I know how it feels my dad’s brother passed right before mother’s day. It really makes you want to look at those around you and spend more time with them. I hope your son’s birthday helps, and I hope you all have fun and can remember the good times with her.

Oh Jenn, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It is wonderful that she lived a full life and you will all be celebrating her. I feel so bad for all of you as it has been a crazy year. Let’s say some blessing that the remainder of the year will be easier to take.

Have a nice time with middle sons b-day celebration. You’re right to make wonderful memories to hold on to.

We’re going to Julie’s (Joe) for ribs tomorrow. She makes the best ribs I’ve ever tasted. I think it will just be hers and ours, no other family members. On Monday the boys are all busy so I think hubs and I are just going to have Nathan’s Hot Dogs. I eat hot dogs maybe twice a year and I am craving one now ;).

    Hugs

Viki, thanks. We really will miss her, but we have a ton of memories that will be ours forever.

I hope you have a great time at Julies, and I rarely ever eat hot dogs, but now you’ve got me craving one too :-) I think we’re making Fajitas for Middle’s birthday plus lemon pound cake.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Big hugs to you, Wizard, the boys and everyone else in your family. :HUGS: I hope Middle Son’s birthday celebration is fun and helps reaffirm how wonderful life is.

I haven’t the faintest idea of what we’re doing this weekend. Hubs probably has a list but before the next big project can start, we need supplies to arrive. The poor UPS dude arrived yesterday with our vapor barrier in a box. 106 pounds of 10mil plastic sheeting – lucky we have a dolly. I think I might try to chill. It’s supposed to rain all weekend. Sounds like a good time to get caught up on my writing.

Have a great long weekend, Jenn. =o)

    B.E., thanks, I appreciate it.

It amazes me that something that big can be delivered. And from all you and your hubby have been doing, you deserve to chill! Have a great weekend!
