Wednesday Worthy

I’m back and can’t believe it’s Wednesday! The weekend flew by! Sunday we had a blast celebrating Middle Son’s birthday–but by Sunday night I was exhausted.  When all the kids, their girls and Bailey are here, it’s just too much fun.

And I have a tip for you all. Never, under any circumstances, should you let BLB (youngest son, who is an adult) make you a drink. He offered to make me one while we were in the kitchen cooking. I said, “Okay sure, go ahead and make me a gin and tonic.”

I kind of forgot about it while I was prepping the food, then I noticed the drink and took a sip. Holy Crap! I said, “BLB how much gin did you put in here?”

He shrugged. “I didn’t know where the shot glass was so I just poured it in.” Then me smirked–a lot like his dad (and the guy in the picture below).

While I’m rolling my eyes trying to figure out if I should call a hazmat team, to safely dispose of the drink, Wizard strolls in the kitchen, scooped up the glass and takes a sip. “Tastes fine to me. You don’t want it?”

I swear Wizard has a cast iron stomach and super-sized metabolism. “Go right ahead, it’s all yours.”

Wizard took the drink outside to resume supervising Middle Son and his girl friend –who were doing something with beer to the carne asada marinaded skirt steak on the grill. Now I realized why Wizard stole my drink–he needed the alcohol to dull the panic. Last time Middle Son’s girl friend “doctored” up his hamburger meat, poor Wizard almost had a stroke. Now they were not only messing his food but his beer and his beloved BBQ.  Yep, he needed that drink more than me!

The carne asada fajitas turned out awesome! Even Wizard approved!

I’m back at work now, writing as quickly as I can on EXPOSING THE HEIRESS and gearing up for the release of HER TEMPORARY HERO on July 28th. Everyone is excited about HER TEMPORARY HERO, so I hope that’s a good sign. In the end, though, it’s up the readers to decide.

Tomorrow we have the funeral for Wizard’s aunt, so that will be a day off work to be with family.

And now switching gears, our Wednesday Worthy Candidate came to us with a fully-loaded smirk:

So do you think he’s worthy? And how was your weekend?

Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend and tons of fun on Sunday. I think I make coffee like BLB makes drinks ;). Glad Wizard was able to make use of it and calm his nerves while dinner was prepared. I think he’s going to be changing his ways on food since the “kids” seem to make good eats.

Love that smirk. On the right guy it just fits ;).

I’m looking forward to HER TEMPORARY HERO. It makes me even more excited hearing how your crew is loving it.

Our weekend went well. Julie made her killer ribs on Saturday and we had steaks on Monday. It was rather quiet on Monday but I liked it that way :).

    Have a fantastic day!

This weekend I went to visit my best friend from high school on. We went to see the Harlem Ballet and did lots of talking and some drinking. It was really great to get away for a bit.

Hub is scheduled for the first step for beginning dialysis on June 6th.

The guy works for me, until you get to his abs. (I know, I know… I’m a picky witch.)

I’m so glad you had an awesome weekend. BBL needs to be nicer to his mama and not try to drown her in gin. (Although… some days I miss drowning in gin. LOL) And poor Wizard. I now get to experience the love between a man and his grill. It’s real and it’s deep, and I must never come between them. LOL

Our weekend was unmemorable. Lots of meat on the grill, lots of home stuff, some writing and reading. I have like 8200 words to get out before the end of Saturday to meet my 44K in May challenge to myself. Other than that, it’s rainy and bleh and I’m unmotivated.

How can it be Wednesday?!?! *muppet flail* So glad you had a good time this weekend. Y’all needed family time and the chance to relax. Great news on the books. Can’t wait to read both of them!

I’m trying to get back into some semblance of normalcy. I don’t know why I got out of sync but I haven’t written in a couple of days and I’m behind on critiquing my CP’s latest round of revisions. :(

Oh, and Smirky Dude? Send him over. I’ll take that smirk right off his face and replace it with….well…never y’all mind. Just know that I’ll put him in his proper place and we’ll both love every minute of it!

B.E. so true on the love between a man and his grill!

Motivation is pretty hard to come by sometimes. But you can do it!

Silver I’m with you on flailing and I still haven’t written on my actual book today. Administrative crap and blasted insouciance (still don’t have my meds) is steam rolling me.

    Hope you get caught up!
