Happy Friday!

Here we are again at Friday!

Hey did you guys see the trailer for 50 Shades of Grey? Here’s the link  I think I just found the one movie I don’t want to go see with Wizard, LOL. So naturally I told him that then worried he’d be mad. He asked me why, and I said, “I don’t think you’ll enjoy the BMSD theme.”  Without missing a beat, he started naming off friends of mine he thought might enjoy going with me instead.  That amused me for some reason, probably because I expected him to get all alpha and say, “If you want to see the movie, I’ll take you.”  Which is his usual reaction. Now we’ll see what he says when the movie actually comes out. I’m not sure why I want to see it, I’m not usually into going to movies made out of books, but I just do!

So this weekend is my niece’s wedding shower. I’m STILL debating on cookies I’m going to make. I have the ingredients on hand for three different kinds: Meringue cookies, raspberry heart cookies (those are a pain) and Chocolate Kahlua sandwich cookies with Cafe au Lait centers. I will make one, two or all three depending on my level of craziness. There’s going to be a ton of dessert but I get a little carried away when I bake sometimes.

My book…umm…I’m writing. And praying. We shall see!

So what are your weekend plans?

I can get why you wouldn’t want to see FSG with Wizard. Kind of reminds me of when my (at the time 17 yr old) son and I saw Deep Blue Sea. I began with graphic sex and I thought I’d die. He handled it quite well. But never lets me forget it ;). It’s nice how Wizard started finding people to go with you though :).

Nice choices for the cookies. They all sound yummy.

We’re headed to NY tomorrow for my cousin’s daughter’s (what does that make her?) graduation party. I haven’t seen any of my family in 2 yrs so I’m looking forward to it. Hubs is not needless to say it will be a long day since we’ll leave here at 7 AM and be back by midnight. He does not want to stay overnight.

Have a great weekend and let us know what cookies you make :).

Your cousin’s kid = First cousin, once removed, Viki. ;o)

Yeah, I don’t think 50 Shades is a husband movie. Maybe one you’d take a boyfriend to – just to gauge his reaction to certain things and see if he gets to stay on the relationship ladder or get kicked off. All your cookie choices sound awesome, Jen, and making them probably takes way more motivation than I can achieve on any given day.

The weekend here will be reading (Deb Webb’s Heinous finally arrived! – in paperback), writing (rolled over 20K on the rewrite last night), and basic home stuff (yard work, house work – but no manual labor).

All the cookies sound yummy, esp the choco ones.

    Thanks B. E. :).

Ashlynn – You’re not alone. I tried to read the first one but it was so poorly written I gave up.

    Have a great weekend :)!

Viki, wow that’s going to be a long day for you! Wizard likes doing insane turnarounds like that too. Hope you have a blast!

B.e, glad you’re taking a break from the manual labor :-)

I’m trying to picture seeing that movie with a boyfriend, but I’ve been married so long I dunno–I’d be weirded out.

    Have a great weekend!

Ashlynn, all I’m going to say about the first book is that I cheered Ana’s decision in the end. I read book two but was bored. Never bothered with three.

I’m kind of hoping the movies is a bit different from the book but we’ll see.

Mommy porn…I dare Wizard to say that to my face. LOLOL!!!

Viki, I’d be curious what you found poorly written-the repetition? Or her exaggerated internal thoughts? I’m professionally curious that’s all. I hear this a lot so I love getting specifics.

I can see why you wouldn’t want to see Fifty with Wizard. But I can tell you right now, I know what I’m doing on Valentine’s Day  . I may even preorder my ticket. I find the books kind of funny, and I never understood the big deal but whatever. On another note, all three cookies sound really good, and just that small list made me want something sweet. I finished Her Temporary Hero, and I can honestly say, I think I’m jealous of Becky. The book will come along, and we’ll all love it, and have fun at the shower. This weekend is for relaxing, and reading a lot :-D .

Amanda, I love that you’re jealous of Becky, thank you :-) I’m so glad you enjoyed the book.

We’ll have to both go see Fifty and compare notes. As for the books, they just reached a segment of the population who’d never read anything that “racy”. It amused me, but you now, to each his own.

I’ve had too many cookies! Hope you found something sweet to eat!
