Weekend Roundup!

Crazy fun weekend! We had Wizard’s family retirement party Saturday — it was a whirlwind and a blast. That was the last of Wizard’s parties. It’s actually funny that Wizard had three different parties since he HATES being the center of attention.  He fought me on the family party until I flat out told him, “Tough luck, this is important to me, the kids, and his family, and it’s not fair for him to ruin it for us.” That worked, and he stopped most of his grumbling. Plus I promised him that Bailey would be here too — bribery always works :-) He pitched in Friday afternoon and Saturday and helped get the house and everything ready. Then he had a great time. This week, he goes into work Monday and Tuesday to finish up stuff and he’s done. He is one happy man!

And now, I must revise EXPOSING THE HEIRESS all week to hopefully have it done Monday or at least next week. And then get back to the Wing Slayers. I’ve laid out my writing plan for the next year and really want to hit my goals. I’m going to be taking time off to spend with Wizard, but the other side of the coin, he’ll be around to help with chores to free up more writing time. It should work out.

I also wanted to take a second to talk about BLB (youngest son). He just got a big raise at work and is doing fantastic. His accounting degree will be finished in Dec, and while he’s been doing that, he’s been working full time AND he passed all his tests to get his EA license (to sign tax returns). After the freak accident three years ago that damaged his leg and destroyed the career path he was on for law enforcement, he sucked it up and figured out how to deal. Wizard and I so proud of him. We are proud of ALL three boys, the other two for their own achievements, and for standing behind their brother we he needed them. And right now, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Life will have it’s challenges for BLB but he has the tools and strength to handle it. And while people say lovely things to Wizard and I about being his parents, in the end, it was BLB’s choice to man up and deal,  and to work so hard through pain and challenges, toward a new goal.  I think that says a lot more about him than us :-)

And I am such a mom, LOLOL!!! I’m done, really!

One more promo related thing. I’m having a FB party Tues, Sept 30th at 7pm EST to celebrate the release of all The Plus One Chronicles in Audio, and a special sale of the boxed set for 99cents. Here’s the link https://www.facebook.com/events/327262124101838/  Join us for the fun and prize, even just to stop my and say Hi.

So overall it was a great weekend! Now it’s your turn, how was your weekend?

You had a great weekend :)! Wizard’s party, BLB’s success and BAILEY DOG!

By the way, moms are allowed to be moms whenever we desire ;).

I’m so glad Wizard sucked it up for the party. (Wish my hubs had). You did a great job on the goodies. Loved the photos. But there was one missing – Bailey ;).

Now it’s back to work for you this week. Not like we’re pushing or anything  we do love your work.

Our weekend was just normal busy around the house stuff. The stucco painting was finished Friday so now the windows and back of the house will be done in Oct. The “boys” laid down the ground work for a gravel add on to the back of the driveway for more cars. Now I get to call and order the gravel today. See, just busy house stuff.

I hope you have a great day and maybe take a few minutes to write a list of fun relaxing retirement activities for Wizard to consider for Wed – Fri ;).

You have an amazing family, Jen, but with you and Wiz as “head of household,” this does not surprise me one whit! Y’all are awesome. Congrats again to Wiz, high five to BLB, and hugs to all.

I feel like I’ve been under a rock. I haven’t looked at FB, but to post something silly one day when my brain broke and I needed a break. I finally have the last four chapters completely rewritten on COWGIRL’S SECRET. I’m not sure how I feel about them. Today is a read through. If I haven’t messed up too badly, it’ll go back to NY tomorrow, a day ahead of schedule. If it sucks as much as I fear, then it’s more mad writing between Sprout spurts and it’ll go in by midnight October 1. Then it’s right back into the fray with BLUE MOON. Still hoping to release it by mid-October.

Going back into lurk mode in 5-4-3…

Congrats to Wiz and awesome for BLB. It’s hard to overcome and change gears when something derails you like that.

And I agree with Vicki…moms can be moms whenever we want. :) We earned it.

Wedding was very nice. I cried for Baby G. He just shook his head and I paid the dollar to dance with him. Just doesn’t seem possible.

Sat I was good, yesterday not so much. Doc appt today, but still hoping to get some writing in. Had major brainstorm on current WIP and its great–except I gotta go back and change quite a lot of things. *sighs* All in the name of a better book. :P

I’m so glad the Wizard’s party went well and that he enjoyed it. Yay for your writing plan. I’m sure your awesome husband will be most helpful – even if it’s just by staying out of your way. ;o)

You know I’ve been rooting for BLB all along. Us banged up people gotta stick together, ya know. I’m so sorry to learn he had to give up his dream of being in law enforcement, though. :hugs for him: But I am proud of him for finding a new path and excelling at it. And I’m proud of you all for sticking with him and supporting him. That’s part of the trick to recovery – having a supportive family. You guys are all awesome.

The weekend here was spent tending to Max – who’s under the weather. He seems better this morning, though, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he’s on the mend. I also hammered out some cleaning and a little of the read-through on my mystery manuscript. ugh, it’s a hot mess, but totally fixable.

Viki, I know on Bailey Dog! We didn’t really take any pics–mostly because it’s not wise to have phones or cameras out by the pool where all the guys are doing cannon balls :-). I only took the dessert ones when my sister in law reminded me. Now I wish I’d taken a pic of all the food too AND Bailey.

You are getting a lot of stuff done around your house. Bet that feels good!

Silver, you’ve been really slammed between deadlines and babysitting. Have you had a minute (or hours) to follow the EC/DA lawsuit? I was stunned. That is not a good thing–and that’s me limiting myself so I don’t go off on a tangent.

Thanks on Wizard and BLB. Good luck, hope you love the book as is!

Ashlynn, it sounds like Baby G’s wedding was perfect. Those moments are so special, and we need to grab onto them.

I really hope you’re feeling better today. Good luck with your doc appt and rewrites!

B.E., yes you guys were all awesome when BLB was hurt. I’ll never forget that. Thank you!

What’s up with Max? Poor kitty. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that he keeps improving. Hope you can carve out time to work too.
