Weekend Roundup

A friend and I went to Fashion Island in Newport Beach.  I don’t think I’ve ever been there, probably because it’s high end and I’m…not :-) But we were going just for fun and to have lunch. I can afford that!

So first we did some car shopping and I snapped a picture of this beauty. It’s a Tesla…and way out of my price range. I snapped a pic and sent it to Wizard, saying, “You wish.”

Then we somehow innocently stumbled on PUPPIES!! They were so cute! I fell in love with every single one, but I sent Wizard this picture of an English bulldog (trust me, this face was soooo cute in person!) and said,
“Can we have him?”

And Wizard’s reply? “YOU WISH!!!”

Crap. Foiled by my own clever words! So I sent him this pic and said, “I read him your mean text.”

Wizard texted back, “Bring him home in a Tesla and we have a deal.”

Dang the man drives a hard bargain.

So then I went on to look at sunglasses. Found one pair I liked —  $325.00!!! Um…no thank you. I’d rather spend the money on a dog that would pay me back a million times over in love and fun than a pair of sunglasses. Sheesh! (And no I wouldn’t buy a dog from a shop. I spent years working at an animal shelter, that would be the most likely place I’d get a dog or through a connection.)

But all was not lost! I found an inexpensive necklace for me and a birthday present I needed to get. Plus we had a blast.

In book news, we’re working on the re-release of Wing Slayer Hunter books, and the pre-order for Blood Magic should be up in a week! As long as everyone stays on time, it should all come together. That will free me up to spend real time on my new series. Once I get this first book drafted, then I need to write the next Wing Slayer Hunter book.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like a fun jaunt to see how the other half shops. Sunglasses over $300. Umm, no. Dollar store sunglasses do just as well, and if they break, you don’t want to cry. OMG, cute puppy. And LOL at Wizard for shooting back the puppy/Tesla remark. Yay for Blood Magic and the rest of the series! And yay for new books! I can’t wait.

Weeding and reading and slacking off. Except for last night when I set my buns down and did some marathon editing. I’ll finish the last of my edit notes today, read it through for continuity again, and then send it to my editor this week. Then I can get back to writing new words on either the sequel to Accidental Death or the next in the series after Dying Embers.

It’s Monday. There was a weekend. We did go to one of our favorite new restaurants, Pub W, with the kids and Stormageddon to celebrate Lawyer Guy’s b-day. I swear that kid is channeling some rocker dude. He was head-banging to a song on the sound system, then outside in the parking lot, he was checking out the scantily-clad Twin Peaks waitresses next door. He bent sideways to watch her walk away, then straightened and turned to grin at Baseball Boy and LG. Only and I cracked up.

Even if I had the money for $350 sunglasses, why? And that bulldog is too cute for words. I bet he was almost as expensive as that Tesla! LOLOL

Yay for Wingslayers and more books. I need to get back to work, which is what I did most of the weekend. I need to finish chapter 3 and rewrite the synopsis because these characters turned out way different and the story took a twist I didn’t foresee but makes too much sense to ignore.

    Have a great week, witches!

B.E., I know on sunglasses. You should see my pool sunglasses — I can’t kill those and they were, I think, $10.00.

Marathon editing is huge progress! Weeding also needs to be done so all in all it sounds like a pretty good weekend.

Silver, Happy Birthday to LG!! And too funny on the boy! He’s learning fast, LOL! I’d love to see rocking out to a song :-)

The sunglasses amused me. But you know, everyone has their thing they’ll spend $$ on. And I have no idea what the bulldogs cost but I’m sure you’re right.

I love those twists that sort of happen organically and make total sense!! I’m with you, even if you have to rewitte a bit, it’ll be worth it!

Sunglasses that are not a script for $325, OMG! Though it is fun to look ;). Wearing them around to pool would not be smart. Ten dollar ones are much better ;).

That puppy is so cute. How did you ever capture his sad expression? And how did Wizard resist :).

I’m glad you had a good time. The photos are proof :).

Not much happened here this weekend – Thank heaven :).

    Have a great afternoon.

Viki, sorry I’m late answering! I saw your comment yesterday but got side tracked when I started to answer.

So true on sunglasses for the pool! But otherwise, I think it’s all about what we’re willing to splurge on. For me, it’s not sunglasses. In fact the only time I usually splurge is with a gift card.

Wizard resisted because he lives in fear that if he gives in on one dog we’ll end up with a kennel — he’s not wrong, LOL!

Hope you’re having a good week!
