Weekend Roundup, The Short Version

On Saturday, we celebrated Christmas with Wizard’s side of the family — it was so much fun! Sunday I had a sore throat that I’m hoping vanishes by the time this post goes up. I don’t have time to be sick (like anyone ever does!), but it’s probably just a sinus/allergy thing.  It’s also my excuse for a short blog today, I’m going to try to get some rest. Okay,  that’s not exactly true. Wizard was gone today and I’ve been working all day so I’m actually going to hit the couch before he gets home and convince him I’ve been resting :-) He’ll totally believe me (NOT!).

I know everyone is super busy this week, but if you have a chance to check in, I’d love to hear how your weekend was.

Oh man, I’m sorry about your sore throat. Bummer. I hope you managed to get some rest and that you feel better when you wake up. :hugs:

Life is a total blur these days. I know there was a weekend there somewhere. I cleaned some. Edited some. Watched TV a lot. I hit the store for Christmas dinner shopping yesterday, which was manic. Fingers crossed I don’t have to go back until after Christmas. Eh, at least everyone was still playing nice. Also, I learned you can’t buy alcohol in Arkansas on Sunday – at least not in that town. I wanted a tiny bottle of brandy so I could add some to my holiday cheesecake. No such luck. Explains why my local gas station was full of people buying booze at 10am, though. (They only had pints of brandy. Bleh.)

Ugh on the sinuses and sore throat. The way our weather is see-sawing, I’m lucky not to be suffering the same! Saturday was my chapter party. It was fun, though lightly attended. One of our traditions is to read the goals we set out at the first of the year. I met mine, and exceeded them by two books. :) Explains why I’m still suffering deadline hangover.

I still have Christmas shopping to do. I’m going to get off the ‘net, gird my loins and head out here in a short for one last burst of energy to get it done. I’m making a list. That will help. *nods* Of course it will.

Have a great week, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and may the magic of the season touch the hearts of you and yours!

The weekend was crazy busy as was every one I know :). Finally got all the stuff done and I just finished wrapping (Wipes brow). Now I can go make dinner ;).

How nice that you got to have Christmas with Wizard’s family this past weekend. It’s nice being able to spread out the festivities and get to see all the family.

I hope you did take a little time to rest. Don’t forget to eat honey, it’s really good for curing sore throats, not to mention it tastes great.

Are you all ready for Christmas now? Saw that you got tons of baking done. Time for you to enjoy :)!

    Have a great afternoon!

B.E., I just learned something new too. If I’m ever in ARkansas on Sunday, I won’t try to be alcohol :-) I hope you can find a small bottle of brandy somewhere.

I just threw out my old bottle of Kahlua that was a mysterious number of years old. I bought a new one for baking then never used it. Typical! I only use it for baking.

Time’s been a blur here too. So much to do, and no elves to do it :-)

Silver, exactly on see-sawing weather and sinuses. That’s why I think it’s probably not a cold (hopefully).

And Wowzers!! You did awesome this year! You need and deserve a break. So proud of you!

Hope you got everything done today. I’m done except dog toys which is easy and fun. We’re also dealing with estimates on the car, which is a pain but workable since Wizard is home.

Merry Christmas to you and yours too!

Viki, Yay for being all done and wrapped! Doesn’t it seem to get harder to get it all done every year? Maybe it’s just me :-) I’m all done too (except dog toys which is fun, so I don’t count that).

Most of the baking is done. I didn’t do as much this year. I’m making one more thing for a Wednesday night gathering, but that will be easy, I think. My throat’s a bit better, I just ache which is probably more tiredness than anything else. Tomorrow will be better!

I’d eat honey if I had it :-) Maybe I’ll pick some up tomorrow.
