Happy Friday!

It really is a Happy Friday here in our house. Bailey is feeling better! Wizard and I took Bailey to the vet on Thursday. Just a FYI: My son and his girlfriend would have done it too, but it all happened so fast. Bailey’s done this off and on for a while, he’s suddenly in pain, then after a couple days it clears up for a few weeks or longer, then it happens again. We needed the vet to see him in pain to evaluate the situation. Anyway, the good news is Bailey is in very good shape for his age. Strong heart, lungs, kidneys, etc. He does have arthritis in both his hips though, and it’s obviously painful. Once they determined he was healthy enough, they gave him a shot and started him on oral meds. Here’s the result:

Bailey before seeing the vet. This isn’t even him at his worst, so you can see it was bad and why we were worried.

Amazing! Yesterday, he was outside playing, hunting lizards and eating very well. He’ll have some ups and downs, etc., but overall he will be much better and we’re all so happy. Also, my youngest son’s girlfriend works for the vet so she helped us get him in and took such good care of him :-) The vet was awesome too. Bailey was a very good boy.

This weekend we are playing with Bailey and getting ready for the carpet which will start Monday. It should go pretty quick, no more than two days.

I’m also finishing the edit on book one of Savaged Vows. I have one more timeline issue to fix in the book, then I’ll do a straight edit and I should have it ready for the editor by the end of next week.

Now for an important programming note: On Monday, March 21st, NYT Bestselling author, Carrie Ann Ryan is sharing how she used Writing Sprints to pen more than 40 novels and novellas within four years. I hope you’ll all stop by! I may not have an internet connection, but I’ll try to access the blog on my phone.

What are you all doing this weekend? I hope it’s something fun!

Yay for Bailey! He can’t be that old, can he? Seems like he was just a pup when the kids got him and that can’t have been that long ago. Or am I temporally displaced again? Gah. Anyway, I’m so glad the meds are working and he’s feeling so much better. Poor baby.

Yay for Savaged Vows! Go you!

10 books a year?? I gotta read that. Not sure I can up my production that much, but it’s worth a shot.

This weekend? I can’t believe it’s already the weekend. Where did the week go??? I should be getting my edit notes for Fertile Ground (SCIU #2) tomorrow, so I should probably jump on that Sunday. I’m still not loving the cover for that, so I need to address that, too. Otherwise, I have yard work to do and I want to finish this book I’m reading before I start edits.

So glad Bailey is doing better. Since pet medicine is my career, I love to hear how the proper medication can help our loyal pets. There are so many options for aging pets now than in years before that it’s wonderful to see the results. Thanks for sharing.

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

Awwww. Poor pup. So glad he’s feeling better. And yay on slightly less discombobulation on the carpet, edits, and I’m looking forward to Carrie Ann’s post too! I thought my 5-6 books a year was a lot! TEN!?!?!? Holy cannoli!

My RWA chapter is having a reunion tomorrow. Hoping to see a lot of former members.

    Have a great weekend, everyont!

B.E, Bailey was four or so when Middle son got him from an acquaintance. I estimated 10 or 11, the vet I took him too wrote 12 on his chart (they saw him years ago, and it’s possible Middle Son gave them his correct age them). Middle Son has had him for years, I’d have to ask him how long now. It’s all gone by so fast!

I’m amazed at Carrie Ann too! But I don’t think we have to match her output, it’s more that we might find tricks she’s learn that might help us work at our best :-)

Covers can be so frustrating. And edits…it always takes me a day to mentally process them before I can jump in. It seems to me you’re getting a lot accomplished though! Hope you get some downtime/fun into your weekend.

Labrat11, that’s what you do? I’m thrilled to hear that! Helping pets live their best lives is an awesome career. thank you for doing it!

Bailey is doing better although he had a rough night. I’m going to watch him for a few hours and check in with the vet, but he’s significantly improved from Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Silver, I can’t wait to get my life back to my boring routine! But we’re getting a lot accomplished and that’s a great feeling.

You are amazing and so is Carrie Ann. But I think we all have our individual strengths. Hopefully these posts help us all gain some more tools but NOT put more pressure on ourselves.

Have a great time at your chapter reunion!

Poor Bailey. That first photo is SO sad. I am very happy that the vet was able to give him something to ease the pain. I love the second photo. That’s Bailey Dog :)! How is he doing now? Getting old stinks no matter what :(.

Carrie Ann is amazing. It always seems like every time I turn around she has a new release. I guess she does ;).

Hubs and the youngest son are going to Orlando tomorrow. I’ll be home alone with the cat for four days :). Middle son and GF are coming by tomorrow while his car is being worked on and doing laundry ;). I have a baby shower to go to Sunday. That’s my weekend ;).

Have a great time with Bailey this weekend and don’t work too hard on the edits, Bailey is more fun :).

Viki, he’s doing much better, thanks! I hope he has a better night tonight, but overall he’s feeling more himself and we’re so happy.

With your son there Sat and the shower on Sun, that’s a pretty full weekend. Hope you and the cat have fun together!
