Weekend Roundup

My weekend was quiet. I cleaned, worked on Ethan and Ana’s novella while waiting for edits on Savaged Dreams and hung out with Wizard.  Oh and I rejoined Weight Watchers Online. I debated even mentioning this because I’m not a fan of defining a woman by her weight in any way. Plus… I’m not hugely overweight. This is just about staying in control and this helps me regain a sense of control. My days of wanting to be fashionably thin (LOL, I’ve NEVER been that, my body build is short, muscular and curvy, not tall and slender) or rocking a bikini are over. I’m just interested in getting dressed and feeling confident and comfortable. And FYI I wear a bikini around the pool at my house anyway :-)

So…I told Wizard that I rejoined Weight Watchers.

Wizard’s response? “If that’s what you want, I’ll help you. I like most of the stuff you cook on Weight Watchers.”

That’s my hero! I love that he supports me when I want to make a change. (My weight loss goals are smallish, which he also supports.)

And then two days later, which would be last night, Wizard says, “I heard there’s a chocolate festival in San Diego.”

Hmm…he meant he’d support me when he said it, LOL! Okay seriously, one day at a chocolate festival  isn’t a big deal in the scheme of things. So as soon as I post this blog, I’m going to look up this chocolate festival and see if we can go. I just thought it was funny he mentioned it two days after vowing to help me. :-)

On the work end of things, I’m enjoying getting to know Ethan and Ana again, and digging in deeper now that they are the hero and heroine of the story rather than secondary characters. For me, they were immensely likeable characters in the Plus One Chronicles, but for this novella, I had to get past that likableness to find their real flows. That’s still a work in progress, but I’m getting there! Flaws make a hero/heroine so much more interesting in my opinion!

So how was your weekend?

Wizard is evil. Just sayin’… LOL Have fun at the chocolate festival. Consider it a form of aversion therapy. ;)

Can’t wait to learn more about Ethan and Ana and read their story!

I finished the sort-of-sekrit project (it’s on submission and I figured I’d better have the darn thing written just in case  ). I’m back to work on the next Nightriders book, NIGHT MOVES. Hollywood, the hero finally decided to open up and tell me his legal name, why he’s called Hollywood, and where the story should start in Chapter 1. Being the puzzler I am, I have lots of scenes written, just not the opening. Now it’s written, segued into chapter 2, and I’m off to 3 today. If I’ll get off the stupid internet.

Silver, I couldn’t find the festival Wizard “thought” he heard about. But if we do find and go, it’s worth whatever WW points it costs me :-)

Why???? Why must you torment me with secret projects?

Love your puzzling method! And I can see why it works for you in Scrivener.

    The stupid internet is addictive!

Oh my, naughty Wizard! I bet he didn’t even realize that he was undermining your health goal. You know men are like that ;).
It’s nice that you have ruled out going. It might be fun and if you set a goal before hand I’m sure you won’t over indulge.
    Here’s what I found:

I would SO go to the second one – on Mother’s Day weekend.

Oh man, I can’t wait to hear what flaws these two have ;)!

It’s snowed and snowed this weekend. We still went out Sat. for dinner. We went to a Greek place right near by that we hadn’t known about. It’s been operating since 1988 ;). The food was amazing! Great featured wine too.

Kick that sinus mess to the curb and have a wonderful afternoon.

Gah, I didn’t comment here this morning either? Someone should’ve hooked me up to a caffeine IV first thing and then maybe stuff would’ve gotten done.

I think Wizard was testing your resolve. You showed him. Chocolate festival? Hah! As if. (Okay, so you did go looking for it, but still.)

Nothing much going on around here. Decompressing after sending Fertile Ground off to the editor. Yeah, that’s what it is – decompressing.

Viki, I saw those and the mother’s day one appealed to me too :-) I would totally go just for the experience. We all know one tay of a little indulgence is fine and even encouraged (in my world anyway!). Thank you for looking!!

These two characters are testing me, LOL! I love them, it’s really just my process of digging in.I want this novella to be good so I’m pretty much getting in my own way which is foolish.

Greek food and wine sounds awesome! And a good break of all your snow. I can’t believe how much snow some of you are getting in April. It’s crazy! While we here in So Cal didn’t get anything near the El Nino predictions. We need to spread out the weather a bit more to be fair to every one.

Hope you have a great night!

B.E., you and me both! I was definitely off my game this morning. It’s Monday :-)

The chocolate festival would be fun! I’m always game for that because who really passes up chocolate, LOL???

Yay on getting Fertile Ground off to the editor! That’s a big accomplishment! I think you deserve to decompress for the weekend, and you might as well throw Monday in there too!
