Weekend Roundup!

Don’t you hate it when you have good news and you can’t share yet???? I’ll tell you guy on Wednesday. FYI, it’s not book news, but more personal :-)

It’s been a good weekend for me! I sent off Savaged Dreams to my editor on Friday and took some time off. The only work things I did was a little bookkeeping, and I read over all my editorial revision letter and manuscript notes for Savaged Surrender–and the good news there is the while it needs work, all the revising is pretty much within the framework of the novella that I  already have. That makes it so much easier than the revision I just finished. My editor has a ton of really good notes that will help me stay on task too.  It will go pretty fast, no more than two weeks tops. I’ll start on that today after I go to the gym.

Wizard and I went to look at a grand opening of a new community this weekend. There were three new tracts of houses and every house was a two-story, instead of the single level we’d like to move into eventually. That seems to be a pattern in our area. If we do finally decide to downsize and move, finding a one-story house is going to be a challenge. Our price range is also a challenge, but that’s the reality for most people, I think.

Since I had a little break from work, I started furniture shopping for my smallish family room. That was pretty frustrating since I don’t want a huge and heavy sectional couch or recliner. That store was a bust for me. While I can find couches I like online, I’d like to see it in person before buying–am I the only one? I mean I love online shopping as much as anyone, but if I’m sitting on it everyday, shouldn’t I get a chance to make sure it’s comfortable?

So how was your weekend?

Yes, yes, I do hate it when you have good news and can’t share it yet. =op Yay for a good weekend, good editorial notes, and home shopping stuff. Boo for 2-story! And yes, you should be able to find out if it’s comfortable before you buy it.

I had a quiet weekend for the most part. Loads of sitting around, watching TV and vegging out. I got a bunch of words rewritten on my secret thing which isn’t a secret anymore since I blogged about it. I’m rewriting my first book. Because I still love it and I still believe in it and I want to see it soar out there in the world. We’ll see if the rest of the world feels the same way after its release. LOL

Yay on revision/editing news! And the good personal news has to be a wedding or a baby. ;) Do I get a hot guy to look at Wednesday if I’m right? LOLOL

I worked this weekend. Sort of. I have a proposal deadline Wednesday. I still have to finish chapter 3–about 1K words, hard edit, and then write the synopsis. Have I mentioned I hate writing synopses? Got to see Stormageddon but only for brief periods as Only was borrowing Lawyer Guy’s pickup to move a couch.

Speaking of couches, yeah. If I can’t sitz, I don’t fitz. I’m REALLY weird when it comes to chair and couch selection, comforting, and purchase!

Okay. One more webz stop…*waves at B.E.* and then to work!

Silver, you guessed it? Youngest son and his girlfriend are engaged. BLB totally surprised her on her birthday weekend. It’s awesome news for all of us!

I’m so with you on the furniture. Especially in my reading spot, it has to be right.

I read Double Trouble of over the weekend! A fun read and perfect way to decompress!

Hope you get a lot done today :-)

I was right there with Silver on the good news. Congratulations to BLB and his girlfriend. How exciting! Now they have the fun of planning it all out. You and Wizard must be so happy. The family is getting bigger ;).

My middle son is waiting for his girlfriend to graduate before he asks her to marry him. He told me this two months ago and she doesn’t get her degree until next May. He’s a planner ;).

Congratulations on getting so much done over the weekend. Sorry about the two story homes though I’m sure you will find the right place when the time is right. Seems things always work out for us in the end.

I thought about buying a sofa from Wayfair but since I couldn’t see it or try it out I went to a store. I like to play it safe.

    Have a nice evening!

Viki, thanks! We are delighted! And of course you guys guessed, LOL.

Your middle son sounds a big like my youngest (BLB). They have to do it when it’s right for them :-)

You’re also right that the house thing will work out. We like our home now, so we’re in no hurry.

Hope your week has gotten off to a good start!

B.E., thanks! I think they are both really enjoying the moment. And BLB is very proud of himself :-)
