Happy Friday

**Sorry for the late past, apparently my internet was down when this was scheduled to post.

So it’s been a week, huh? But we made it, and I wish you all a Happy Friday, my friends!

Yesterday I had the chance to see an old high school friend whom I hadn’t seen in decades. And I wondered–will I recognize her when she walks through the door?

The answer? INSTANTLY. For some reason, that made me feel good. The connections that we form in life matter. We were both so young then and in very different place. My years before Wizard came into my life were hard, and this friend was a tremendous solace as only a true friend can be. I’m glad that my heart remembered her. We spent hours catching up and I’m sure we’ll see each other again.

Saturday I’m going to my local RWA chapter meeting. Bestselling author Lisa Kessler is speaking, I’m looking forward to that and seeing friends.

I’m working hard plotting out the rest of the Savaged Series (the first book is in copy editing). Writing his trilogy is exhilarating and scary. But that’s exactly how it should be! To writers, fear means two things, we are challenging ourselves to grow and stretch in our craft, and we are telling a story we are passionate about. Hopefully readers will feel that passion too.

What are your plans this weekend? Whatever they are, I hope you have a great weekend!

So glad you and your friend reconnected. Those ties do run deep!

I’m working–as usual. Finally have the official go-ahead on the next RDR book. I’ve got about 30K words to go but due to the proposal revisions, my deadline has been extended. That’s good. If I had to have it ready by the 15th, I’d be in trouble. LOL

I am taking a break tomorrow night. Lawyer Guy and I are meeting one of his associates and wife for dinner at a new (and fancy) steak house. It’ll be fun.

Also watching college football. Baseball is over until February/March. *sigh* And reading, if I can find a book that captures and holds my attention. Having some trouble with that. I might have to break down and go to one of my “chicken soup” books to read.

Silver, thanks, it was lovely to see her.

I’m so glad you got the extension, you’re under tremendous pressure and need a bit of breathing room. But exciting things are on the horizon for you and I know you can do it!

OMG I’m in the same place with my reading, and I really think it’s me. I just can’t concentrate long enough to get pulled into a story. I hope you find a compelling book!

Have a great time with LG’s associate and spouse!

Isn’t it a little strange meeting “old” friends you haven’t seen in years? I’ve found that I rarely recognize any of them and they don’t recognize me either ;). What is funny is how we can pick up 30 yrs later like we were never apart. I’m glad you instantly recognized your friend. You look really young so you probably haven’t changed much :).

Have a great time at your RWA meeting. Let us know what Lisa talks about. I like her.

You’re right, I think we pick up on the authors passion. I’m really looking forward to this trilogy.

    Have a really wonderful weekend!

Too cool about you and your friend. I sometimes wonder what would happen if I ever located my best friend from high school. We were totally tight, but then things happened, and so much time has passed. Plus, now I’m so different from who I was then.

Have fun at your meeting! And yay for the Savaged Series! I bet it’s going to be awesome. =o)

Fishing, writing, football. That’s my weekend life. I suppose I ought to throw some housework in there sometime. LOL

Viki, if I had met her in an unexpected, “out of context” situation, then I might have not recognized her. But I was expecting her to walk into the restaurant, so that’s makes it a little different. And thank you–but I’m like most people, some days I look younger than other days :-)

I will let you know about Lisa. I’m looking forward to hearing what she has to say.

Hope you have a great weekend! (And hope your arm is still improving!)

B.E., we are different of course, time does that. But we knew each other’s families and dreams, so it somehow made the connection more lasting. And I think we are both very aware that time and life has changed us both. It’d be nice if you found your best friend from high school.

Thanks on my meeting and the savaged series!

I hope you enjoy fishing, writing and football!
