Friday Five
Happy Friday! Let’s all list 5 random things about our week!
- Wizard has conceded that I am better at picking movies for us to watch on Amazon Prime or Netflix than he is. This is HUGE. Wizard is better than me at a lot of things, so I’m walking around with a stupid grin over this tiny achievement
- When we were grocery shopping on Tuesday, I asked Wizard to help me get a leafy green vegetable into one of those thin plastic bags in the produce section of most stores. He’s stared at the vegetable suspiciously. “What is that?” he demanded (while helping me wrangle it into a plastic bag). “Kale,” I told him. He was scrunched up his nose. “I’m not eating that.” But I assured him that not only was he going to eat it but he’d like it. He adamantly assured me he would NOT. Last night, I made the Kale Chips sprinkled with parmesan. Wizard had three helpings. LOLOL!!!
- Wizard still has car fever, we just haven’t had time to follow-up. I imagine we’ll tackle that in September, but if not, we’re fine with our eight-year-old car until some time next year.
- We’re pretty much all set to go to Florida in October. I’m so looking forward to it. Although I really need to lose a few pounds before then, so my clothes are more comfortable. But it’s hard to be motivated when I’m on limited activity. Wizard is too smart to say a word about that!
- I saw a news story on Kitten Garten that made me smile. Someone donated a serious chunk of money to an animal shelter to provide a safe nursery for kittens too young to adopt and who need round the clock care. I love stories like that!

Awwww. Such a great five this week–well, except for the tight clothes. On-going situation for me so I empathize. So, my five.
1) It’s raining again. Like flash-flood types of rain. We need the moisture but seriously…!
2) Skunk 1, Newfoundlands 0
3) I hit the deadline for ASSASSIN’S MOON, complete with an ending that surprised me. It’s submitted and under review for it’s August 29th release. I was shooting for 25K, it turned out to be just over 31K. Ah well.
4) I really need to get back on Tucker’s story but my brain wants a vacation. Manana.
5) Is it nap time?

1. That’s funny ;). Mine would never admit it.
2. I am surprised. Kale and I do not mix. Most everything I eat is very healthy but kale and beets don’t work for me. Glad you were able to get Wizard to eat many helpings :).
3. Sure hope you have time to work on getting the new car. It’s so much fun to drive a brand new one.
4. Yes! Florida will be so nice. Hear you on the pain and motivation. Maybe just walking a little more each day. At least it’s a bit of a workout ;).
5. Oh kitties, I saw something like this a while back. Just wonderful.
1a. Back day for ragweed. Man, the youngest and I are a mess :(.

2a. Beautiful weather day here. High 72F, low humidity, and sunny :).
3a. PeeWee is still having some issues. He won’t use his potty pad which is a real problem when it gets cold since he’s not allowed out when it’s under 50F.
4a. Looked at 27 acres with two ponds. Really nice and a great price. The house is old and nasty but we’d build a new one – yes, I am spoiled ;).
5a. Making pepperoni bread for dinner – YUM! I stuff half with 3 types of hot peppers (that’s for me

Silver tight clothes seems to be a common complaint

1) Wow you guys are getting a lot of rain. Crazy weather all around. Especially with that Cat-4 bearing down on Texas as I’m typing this.

3) Congrats on finishing ASSASSIN’S MOON! That’s a huge win for you and the surprise ending sounds like the story took on a life of its own. I’m so happy for you!
4) Tucker will be there tomorrow when you’re fresh and ready.

Viki, the kale didn’t agree with me last night, so it’s funny you mentioned that. I’m hit and miss with some vegetables. I walked early this morning, I’m trying to stay active, but I longing for the day when laziness is my biggest obstacle
1) So you and youngest were clearing ragweed?
2) Yay for beautiful weather! We’ve had almost 2 weeks of mild weather, and I’m so grateful to have a break from the air. The heat is returning full force this weekend.
3) PeeWee just can’t get a break. Hopefully he’s back to his usual self before the colder weather arrives. He’s such a special dog.
4) That land sounds incredible! It’s not spoiled to work together as a family and achieve goals. That’s a huge undertaking to build a house, but what a adventure it will be. I hope it all works out!
5) Ohhh!!! I bet I’d love pepperoni bread! (You had me at bread, LOL) Enjoy it!

1. Youngest and I have terrible allergies to SO many things but the ragweed is really killing us this season.

3. Poor PeeWee is old and just like humans he’s suffering
4. The land is amazing but we have tons of questions ;).
5. It’s funny both hubs and I made pepperoni bread before we even knew each other. After we married we combined our methods and love it. He now makes the dough and I make the bread. We all eat
