Weekend Roundup

What a weekend! It was the typical whirlwind, but all good. Friday, we took Maggie to the vet for a well check and she’s in great shape. She did really well. It was doubly fun as the veterinarian was a romance fan and had read my books :-) She wanted to know when I’ll have more Wing Slayer books out, which made me smile. I’m trying to get my health and life back on track, and I’m making progress! One example is I was notified that my medication was approved for delivery on Tuesday. That’s huge! Wizard and I are a little cautious, but if it shows up and everything is as promised, things are definitely improving with my new doctor!

Saturday we took Maggie to meet middle son’s and fiance’s dog. Jett’s a big loveable sweetheart who wants to play with any dog he meets. Maggie’s reaction was mixed, and poor Jett didn’t understand. I tried to explain to him that girls are complicated :-)

After that, we went to see Middle son and his fiance’s very first house. They just bought it and refused to tell us a thing until they could show us. We love the house! It also has a beautiful yard and it’s great to see them excited and happy. It’s a big milestone, Wizard and I are so proud of them. Once we got home, youngest son was here waiting for us, and by us, I mean Maggie :-) Friday and Saturday were pretty much a nonstop blur.

Sunday was my catch up day and I finally rewrote my first scene the required 1,001 times and sent it to my critique partner to beg for another read. It’s the plot and emotional arc set-up I have to get right before I can revise the rest of the book. I think I’m much closer to the mark now, or at least I hope so. I can’t wait to get back to the computer tomorrow to work on it!

It’s been a good week, a lot of positive rays of light. I am hoping all of you and feeling some of that positive light too.

So how was your weekend?

Yay for sunshine! And Maggie will get used to the family dogs. She’s already getting used to the people. Yay for the Middles’ new house! That’s way awesome!

Yes please on the Wingslayers. When you get ’round to it. :)

There was a weekend. I wrote. I threw up my hands in defeat over football. I binged on Hallmark Christmas movies. And I’m sleeping until 6 or 7 now instead of being up at 4 or 5. Which totally sucks. The way early awakening, not the 6 or 7. Still, if I get enough coffee, I get an early start on my writing. Not today though. Not enough coffee yet. *wanders off to get another cup*

Silver, you’re right on Maggie, Jett’s just so adorable in his big excited way that I felt sorry for him.

LOL on the Hallmark Movies. I’ve see a couple I like, but most of them are a little too cheesy for me. Ironically Wizard will watch them. I’m still downing coffee too. And I need to work after a trip to Petco and assorted stuff. At least we have coffee!

    Happy Monday!

You had one busy and wonderful weekend :).

I agree with Silver. Maggie will get comfortable with the rest of the four legged family members as she spends more time with them. I love what you told Jett ;). Did he catch on or give you that “male” look?

You have a great vet. She’s one of us.

Your kids are so cool surprising you with their new house. That’s so sweet. Love that BLB was over to visit Maggie. Good boys :).

Great job getting the scene to your critique partner. I hope she has it back to you with great input as soon as possible.

We’re off to NY for lunch with my mom tomorrow. Wednesday will be pre-meal prep and Thursday a big day in the kitchen. AND Friday we get to go see Harrison :).

    Have a Very Happy Thanksgiving!

Viki, Jett was just confused :-)

Dr. Tran is one of us!

They are good kids, thanks Viki!

My critique partner got back to me and it’s all good. I’m pretty jazzed. Of course my week is sucked up with T-Day but I’ll write when I can.

Hope you have a great time with your mom, then Thanksgiving and get to relax Friday with enjoy baby Harrison!
