Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the U.S., a day many of us gather with family and friends and remember to be thankful. While this has been a challenging year, I have so very much to be thankful for. And topping my list is all of YOU who visit this blog. Thank you, friends, for all your support and friendship this year. I’m truly grateful and honored. You’ve really helped me through a rough time.
I’m always thankful for my family. And in March, we will welcome our first grandson! Wizard and I are ecstatic about becoming grandparents. In addition our middle son is engaged to a wonderful woman and just bought his first house. And Youngest Son has been making extra time to hang out with us on Saturdays and provide a little extra support/reassurance as we adjust to having a foster dog. Which brings me to my last thing for today:
I’m thankful for this girl!
Today (assuming nothing comes up that delays the appointment) we are officially adopting her! Her name is Maggie May Apodaca. For the first time, I’m happy to “fail” at something. A Foster Fail is someone who falls in love with their foster pet and adopts them 
That’s me! (And Wizard!) This dog has captured our hearts. Trust me, pictures just don’t do her justice. When you see her in person, her sweet, gentle spirit shines through. She’s still a mommy’s girl, but she’s expanding her horizons each day. Maggie fills our days with smiles, laughter, love and companionship.

So glad you chose adoption. You won’t regret it. I’m thankful for the life I was lucky enough to live. I have food, love, pets, and a job I enjoy (most days). Not as many people are that lucky.

Yay! We kind of suspected you might end up failing. And winning because now you have Maggie. =o)
I’m thankful for friends like you and Silver. And I’m thankful I found Hubs. Our lives these past fourteen years has been so much richer because we have each other.

I’m thankful for you, Jen, for being a mentor and an inspiration. I’m thankful for fuzzy critters that make our days less lonely (and I totally knew you and Wiz would adopt her!). I’m thankful for friends like B.E. whom I’ve never met in person but I know her and I’m glad she’s my friend. I’m thankful for my family and my grandson (FYI, my bday is the 1st and Stormageddon’s is the 22nd. Either of those days work for your new grandbaby’s bday.
) I’m thankful that I get to write the stories in my imagination and that some people read them. Most of all, I’m thankful that I open my eyes each morning to another day filled will life.

Labrat11, most days, if feels like Maggie chose us

B.E., I’m pretty sure everyone suspected, LOL! But I wanted this to be a choice Wizard and I made with no pressure. And it’s definitely a win.
You’re so right on our hubs, and that we all work as a team to build the best lives we can. I’m glad I found you too.

Silver, thank you for that! And I’m just as thankful for you–i’ve dumped on you a few times and you were there. I appreciate that more than I can express.
Of course you knew we’d adopt her
Again, I wanted no pressure on Wizard. I would have understood if he wasn’t up to reshaping our lives.
Our grandson’s due date is March 23rd…so it’s possible he’ll chose to share Stormageddon’s birthday. That would be pretty incredible!

How did my brother know that Maggie would be a foster fail ;). Guess he just knows the kind of people I like :).
I am so happy you have Maggie. She is one sweet baby and is bringing all kinds of joy to you and Wizard.
First, I am so thankful for my family and our grand baby :). Second, I am incredibly thankful and blessed to have been born in the USA! And third, I am very thankful for all the amazing people in my life.

And please tell him thank you again, his advice was very helpful.
They were very pleased at the shelter. I’m hoping to get a copy of the picture they took there of the three of us.
