Wednesday Worthy Cage Fight!

Sorry for the late post.It didn’t go up as scheduled for some reason.

It’s hump day and time to stir up a little trouble. So I tossed these two fighters in the cage:

Who do you think will win? The fighter on the left? Or the right?

Weekend Roundup

Great weekend! Well except that I somehow hurt my hip–maybe cleaning bathrooms? It doesn’t matter–Saturday we were celebrating Middle Son’s birthday and nothing was going to stop me :-) We all have busy lives and getting together is a joy we all value too much for little things to get in the way. We hit the wineries up in the hills and had lunch on the patio of the first one. It was gorgeous, overlooking the grapevines. But the best part was a French bulldog named Penny. She was a friendly sweetheart who loved playing ball.

At the second winery, we did a small tasting, then most of us headed outside on another patio while Middle Son and his girlfriend stayed inside to buy some wines. I mentioned to CPA boy I wanted chocolate. He went in and bought my favorite and his wife’s favorite. I love that! So we all shared the two chocolate bars, and left one piece for Middle Son and his girlfriend. I’m not proud of that, but people, it was chocolate :-) And of course, we gave that last piece to Middles Son’s girlfriend.

So…to sum up; it was Middle Son’s birthday and he didn’t get any chocolate. Hmm…we might suck just a little bit, LOL! But he had his favorite cake at home that I’d made for him. Besides, he didn’t care. If he did, I’d have bought him chocolate.

Of course he might have still been a bit shocked that CPA Boy saw him coming out of the winery, raced across the patio and lifted him up in hug, shouting out, “Happy birthday baby bro,” and doing his best to embarrass his brother. These are adults professional men…but you’d never know it when we get together. And also why I love writing about guys–they have such an interesting way of showing affection :-)

Back at home, Middle Son’s girlfriend cooked delicious chicken and beef fajitas, we ate and had a blast. By the time everyone left late that night, I was limping and mildly concerned about my hip. However I slept something like six hours straight (trust me, that’s a lot for me) and got up with barely any pain at all.

Sunday I was back wrestling in the mud with my book.

So that’s my weekend, how was yours?

Happy Friday

Happy Friday! What’s everyone reading??? I’ve bought a lot of books but haven’t read many of them due to my death battle with my current WIP (Work In Progress). However one that I started on a whim during a bout of insomnia I ended up really enjoying–STUCK UP SUIT by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I’ve been meaning to read Vi Keeland for a while and just hadn’t gotten around to it. I wasn’t wowed by the title, but the book kept my interest.

The audio book I’m listening too at the moment is ME BEFORE YOU by JoJo Moyes. I only listen to these while working out, so it takes me a long time to get into a book, but so far, I really like this one. I find myself thinking about the book a lot when I’m not listening to it, so that’s always a good sign.

I don’t want to talk about writing today :-)

This weekend we’re celebrating Middle Son’s birthday. It should be fun! The plan is to head to a local town for lunch and wine tasting, then back to my house for dinner, cake and maybe the hot tub. I’m really looking forward to it (A Whole Day Off!!) So what are your plans? Whatever it is, I hope you have a great weekend!

Wednesday Worthy

It’s Wednesday! Yesterday, Wizard and I went grocery shopping, then he planned to take off for the day. Awesome that meant I had all day to work uninterrupted! But first I’ll write up a quick blurb for Ethan and Ana’s novella to put in my newsletter… Mwhahaha!! I may have been a little too optimistic. It took my all freaking morning to get a rough draft of the blurb.

After lunch, I tried to come up with a title. I thought and thought and thought some more.

Then I took a dinner break:

Jen's dinner break

Yep it’s a candid shot of me raw and untouched. But the wine looks good, right? :-)

And I still don’t have a freaking title as I’m typing this blog. Who wants to bet I think of one about 1:42 am? Hmm…? Anyone?

All righty then…let’s move onto Wednesday Worthy. I don’t know what the deal is with this guy and his towel–is he having a bad hair day? A head cold? Well I’ll let you all be the judge:

So what do you think? Is he worthy?

Weekend Roundup

Working, working and working! I’m torn between finishing Ethan and Ana’s novella-with-no-name and digging into the revision on my beloved Savaged Dreams. I love too many books, LOL! Plus Ethan and Ana just tossed a sexual curveball in my lap and that thing is almost too hot for me to handle. But if this is what they need, I’ll grab some oven mitts and get to work. But all I want to say on that is this is the point in the book where I lose all control and the characters have taken over. Which is my way of trying lay all blame on Ethan and Ana…I’m totally innocent :-)

So my weekend: Friday was nice, Wizard and I had fun at the movies, although I don’t think Money Monster was that spectacular. But since I had no expectations, I enjoyed it well enough.

As for the weekend, I chose to skip my RWA Chapter meeting on Saturday in favor of seeing Biker Witch on Sunday (you know, limited time with trying to write multiple books) and then on Sunday Biker Witch didn’t feel well so we ended up not going to lunch. It figures, LOL! I should have gone to my meeting instead of trying to budget my time so efficiently.

To top it all off, early Sunday morning I was woken by loud trucks on our street–turned out to be fire trucks and paramedics. I was worried that something happened to my next door neighbor or his young granddaughter. So I’m stumbling around at four in the morning trying to figure out if I should get dressed and see if I could help (maybe babysitting or something). Finally I realize the emergency crews are at a house father down the street and it doesn’t appear to be a serious emergency after all. Sigh…I was up for the day.

So that was my weekend. How was yours?

Happy Friday!

Another lightning quick week! I’m working in my usual insane fashion, desperately trying to write Ethan and Ana’s novella. As I’m writing this blog, I love the story so much I can hardly stand it. However the day before, I was banging my head on the desk and telling Wizard I quit. You know, in everything else I am streamlined, organized and efficient. But writing a book for me is a crazy-ass process that no amount of threats, wine or self-discipline has yet tamed!

However, I think this is what having true passion for our work looks like. It’s not all sunny happy days filled with puppies and chocolate rainbows :-) There has to be struggles or it’s not worth it.

Now let’s get to the weekend. Today I’m probably going to the movies with Wizard.  Saturday will be work and Sunday I’m going to lunch with Biker Witch (my sister) to catch up.  And I’ll work…because this novella now owns me until I get this draft done.

What are your plans? Whatever they are, hope you have a great weekend!

Wednesday Worthy

You guys know what day it is! Hump Day! Which means it’s time to evaluate our Worthy Candidate! So while I’m (A) going to the gym in my battle with the bulge (the bulge is winning) and (B) writing the Novella With No Name, you all can take a gander at this guy:

What do you think, is he worthy?

P.S, I noticed that this guy is totally winning the battle of the bulge, not that I’m jealous or anything :-)
