Ah the joys of being a writer–so I got some QA Edits on HER TEMPORARY HERO (formally THE COWBOY MARINE). Those are when another editor reads over the book and give some comments on what she/he thinks might not be working. There were very few comments and I did all those in less than a day.
I have one more thing to fix (not from the QA editor, but something my editor and I discussed yesterday) that takes a little thought. I’ ll work on that body and get this turned back in by Thursday because I thrive under pressure, LOL! (Shut up Wizard–downing gallons of coffee is the very definition of thriving! Look it up!)
In other news, Biker Witch came through the procedure on her back fine. Not we’re crossing our fingers that it works and in a few weeks, she’ll be good as new.
Now moving on, here is our candidate for Wednesday Worthy:
What’s your vote on his worthiness?

I sent my 2nd pass edits off for COWBOY MARINE last night! (Note: title is changing, should have new title next week, and the book comes out in July). We had to cut about 7K words. My editor did the major cutting, then my job was to clean it all up and make it work. That was challenge as I had to pull out minor plot threads and still keep the flow of the story–no idea if I’ve succeeded. Another editor will read it before it even goes to copy editing (Entangled does a LOT of editing, which is a good thing), so I should know soon.
I need to get back to EXPOSING THE HEIRESS right away. But first, I’m going to try to go to the gym and then run some errands. I’ll start back in on that book this afternoon.
Wizard and I need a vacation. He may go with me to Florida in the fall (a small conference) but I’m thinking we should do a weekend away this summer. I won’t take “real” time off if we’re at home. I think it’d be good for us just to take a weekend somewhere Any suggestions?
And this weekend is…
I hope all the Moms out there have a fantastic Mother’s Day!

The weekend was busy with work. I got line edits for COWBOY MARINE (title is changing) and that’s going to take up this week. They need to be done ASAP. My poor work-in-progress keeps getting put on hold, and I so want to get Hunt and Alyssa’s story right–it’s nagging me incessantly. This book changed so much from my original plot, but I really like the friends-to-lovers thing they have going. There’s also a Runaway Bride, Blackmail and I always seem to have a tortured hero in there too.
But right now, I need to get this line edits/revisions done. What’s really nice is the both editors who’ve worked on this book really like it. I’m relieved to hear that! (You should hear poor Wizard when I tell him this–he can’t fathom why I’m always surprised, but I truly am.).
We did go look at a new housing track that we’d been waiting to open–but the one story house there just isn’t for us. It’s always fun to look at new houses. It’s almost a hobby now. But it looks like we’ll be staying here for a while.
How was your weekend?

I hope this blog posts at the correct time. The server is doing some maintenance over night so it may be delayed. If the blog shows up late, that’s why. For once it’s not my fault, LOL
And here’s my news: I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve sold the Brazilian Portuguese rights for THE PROPOSITION (book 1 of The Plus One Chronicles) to Editora Charme Publisher in Brazil. I’m really excited about it! The editor there contacted me, and then we were half way through negotiations when my Internet crashed. Thankfully I was able to email the editor through my phone and let her know. She was very understanding and patient. We just concluded and signed the deal yesterday.
Between this deal and the German one, Kat and Sloane are turning into world travelers I can honestly say that I never imagined this happening when I sat down to write these books. All I cared about was finding the best way to tell their story that meant so much to me.
My weekend will be all work. Real Life keeps infringing on my writing time, and I know edits for THE COWBOY MARINE (I just got work that we’ll be changing the title) are coming my way soon. On top of that, Ryan and I are still working on the audio for POSSESSION. We’re almost there, though!
What are you doing this weekend?

We took Bailey home yesterday and had lunch on the beach with Middle Son had his girlfriend. Wizard and I forgot how much we love the beach, so we came home, got online and looked at house on the beach, and the prices.
Yeah…we laughed too. A lot. We’re still laughing because unless we win the lottery, that’s hot happening. But it’s fun and cheap to dream
We had Bailey for just over a week this time, and we’re really going to miss him. But I will get more writing done this week. Bailey was a huge distraction, plus I had two work-related surprises come in, one frustrating and one good if it comes through, but both required a serious time investment. Additionally, Wizard is still fighting this sinus infection–it’s been aggravating for him.
Right now, however, Hunt and Alyssa (from EXPOSING THE HEIRESS, book 3 in the Once A Marine Series) need me. Although I do have to take a break this week to get Middle Son’s college diploma framed. He pouted at lunch because neither I or his girlfriend have done it yet and somehow I ended up taking it home to get it done for him. So…he can earn a B.A. but can’t figure out how to frame his diploma…
Or he’s mastered those sad eyes just like his dog Bailey How was your weekend?

Is anyone else sick of hearing about Selfies and Twerking? How about Kim Kardashian? What we really need is Kim taking a Selfie while Twerking–that would really send me to the liquor cabinet.
Okay I’m done complaining. How about you guys? What are you sick of?
Now moving on–it’s Friday! I’m working hard on the book and determined to be positive. Each day I fall more in love with Alyssa and Hunt. Alyssa is turning out to be a much stronger woman than I originally envisioned her. She may not know it in the beginning, but she definitely will be by the end. Now it’s just getting the right scenes to show their story. I’m also starting to get excited about THE COWBOY MARINE coming out in July. All of a sudden, it doesn’t seem that far away!
I don’t have anything exciting planed this weekend, what about you all? Whatever you do, have a great weekend!

This weekend was a blur, but the first order of business today? A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO SILVER JAMES! If you haven’t heard the amazing news, Silver has been offered a two book deal from Harlequin Desire! I’m thrilled and proud of her! While Silver has been a working writer for a while now, her talent, hard work and perseverance has brought her to this next step in her career. On top of her talent and drive, Silver is one of the most generous , giving writers I know, making this news ever more freaking awesome! Congrats Silver!
Saturday we celebrated BLB’s birthday, and here’s the cake:
I was happy with the way it turned out (so easy!) and BLB loved it. His girl friend (they’ve been together for years and we all love her!) also brought him a pan of brownies topped with his favorite peanut butter M&M’s. He was a happy guy. Plus I gave him all the left over candy to take home. BLB is living on a very tight budget and limited time while finishing college and working, so he doesn’t a lot of this kind of junk food in his day-to-day life. His girlfriend and I both spoil him a little bit
I spent half the weekend working and made surprising amount of progress on THE COWBOY MARINE revision (getting up and working at 5 am helped). I have one more issue to tackle then it’s the usual tightening and clean up work. I should have that finished sometime this week (I hope) then back my EXPOSING THE HEIRESS book.
Sunday we had a surprise party to go to and as I’m writing this blog Sunday night, I’m beat.
