Mondays Are Unacceptable

We should do something about Mondays.  I already know that today is going to be a challenge.

This was me, on my birthday last week…

Sure I have thick legs and pool hair ( you probably can see how wavy/funky it really is). But I apprear semi-normal, yes?

This is me after dealing with computer problems Sunday, and knowing I have to call MacAfee today…

Sigh.  Monday’s suck.

Other than that,  my weekend has been pretty good.  I’ve gotten started on my revisions for Key’s book  SINFUL MAGIC. For a week, I’ve sort of been frozen, not sure how to begin, but I finally slapped myself (Wizard volunteered for the job of slapping me, but I turned him down)  and got to work.

And speaking of Wizard, he is still coming up with possible Alternate Endings from my latest Dumb Witch Story of going in the wrong restroom.  One of his favorites is seeing my picture flashed on America’s Most Wanted.  Every night he treats me to a new scenario. And much laughter. At my expense.

So how was your weekend?

I Can’t Even Get Arrested…

So I dragged myself to a mall yesterday. Good news! I scored two dresses (for the National Readers Choice Awards and the Ballantine Cocktail party at the RWA Conference) and three shirts.  For me, that is amazing!

I also had lunch with Wizard.  He heard I was out and about and had to see this for himself that:

A) I actually left my computer.

B) I tried on and bought stuff instead of getting frustrated and leaving with nothing  (my standard operating procedure).

C) Nothing “odd” had happened to me.  I have no idea what he means by that.

He was so impressed, he let me buy him lunch. Sadly, I fell for it, not realizing until later that I’d been had. He should have bought me lunch!

So after lunch, I was feeling pretty proud of myself! I only had one more thing I needed–the second dress. I went in and out of shops and eventually noticed something…

I WAS SETTING OFF ALARMS EVERY WHERE I WENT.  Every single time I went in a store or left it, loud warning beeps blared.

No one stopped me.  No one said a word. Finally I ASKED a sales clerk. We looked in my bag, and the first dress I bought still had the plastic security thingie on it. I had to go back to the original store and get it taken off.  I’m standing there holding the receipt saying, “Don’t you want to see that I really bought it?” The clerk smiles, glances at it, and says, “I know you bought it.”

At home that night, I told Wizard. He burst out laughing. “You can’t even get arrested!”

“I could if I wanted to!”

He just kept laughing.  I ‘m glad I’m going to Orlando next week! Away from Wizard! I won’t miss him…okay I will, but I won’t tell him! And maybe I’ll get arrested there. That’ll teach him.

And Wizard, if you’re reading this, YOU OWE ME LUNCH!

So…what did you all do yesterday?

Witch Scores A Point!

It’s been a while since I’ve begged mentioned a dog to Wizard. For a few months, both of us were working long hours and there wasn’t time.

But last weekend, we went to dinner with a friend of Wizard’s.  This is someone Wizard has known since elementary school. We haven’t seen him in years, like a decade kind of a years. So we’re at dinner, just talking, they were reminiscing and I was laughing at Young Wizard Antics.

Then there was a lull in the conversation. So I tried to be helpful.

“Hey do you have a dog?”

Wizard’s friend launched into ten minutes of talk about his current dog, his past dogs and then,  hand to God, he said,  “Dogs are good for the soul.”

The entire restaurant heard Wizard groan. By the end of the night, Wizard’s friend was firmly on my side, lobbying for Wizard to get me a dog. When Wizard went upstairs (looking for a spell to shut the witch up), his friend said, “Witch, just go get a dog and bring it home. You know Wizard will love it.”

I laughed so loud, Wizard came running down the stairs, sure I’d done something wicked. Suspicious he asked why I was laughing. So I told him what this friend said.

Wizard shook his head sadly, “Dude, we grew up together.”

His friend said, “But dogs, man, they are good for the soul.”

Witch Logic

Wizard, “Why are you limping?”

Witch, “I’m not.”

Wizard, getting exasperated “Yes you are, I can see it.”

Witch, “Then don’t look.”

Wizard gets that narrowed eyed HUSBAND look.

Thinking fast witch said,  “There’s still strawberry cheesecake in the refrigerator.”

Wizard jumped up. “Mmmm cheesecake.”

End. Of. Conversation!

Witch logic, it works every time! And I am absolutely fine.  Just a sore ankle or something. Really, I am fine…oh look what I found…

Ha!!! It worked again! You are totally distracted…from whatever we were talking about!

Have a great weekend!

Monday…Again

Mondays just keep coming back! Haven’t we fired these Mondays yet?

Bailey came over on Saturday and we played.  I thought that maybe Stuffed Puppy might have learned something about playing after watching Bailey.  So on Sunday, I gave Stuffed Puppy one of the bones that Bailey left at our house. And he took to it like  a champ!

I was so excited, I said, “Look Wizard, I think he’s chewing on the bone!”

Wizard said,  “It’s a big bone, it’ll keep him busy while we go to the movies.”

So Wizard and I went to see KILLERS.  (Funny movie!) Then we went home. I was so excited to see what Stuffed Puppy had done with the bone. Maybe he’s finally…doing something. Anything.  I ran in the house, and frowned.  Stuffed Puppy hadn’t moved. At all. See for yourself:

“Wizard, I’m telling you, there’s something wrong with that dog!”

Wizard smirked.  “I think he’s the perfect dog.”

Sigh.

So how was your weekend?

More Long Weekends!

I can’t believe it! I set this to post April 1st instead of June 1st! What  dumb witch! LOL! So now I’m late!

We should start a petition or something! We had a great weekend. Saturday we celebrated middle son’s birthday by hanging out at the pool. Birthday boy wanted tacos and lemon pound cake,  so that’s what I made. It was a blast! My sons were jumping in the pool and begging me to take pictures.

Since I have the stupid rule against showing my sons, here’s a picture of the pool when I MISSED the shot. If you look close, you’ll see a little yellow rubber duck getting tossed around. I don’t know why we have rubber ducks in the pool.

Bailey came over too which  was fun. But Wizard (the smart ass) took Bailey’s leash and hooked it up to stuffed puppy and dragged him all over the house, saying,  “Hey Witch, I’m walking your dog!!” The boys fell over laughing at that.

Not funny, Wizard! Okay, maybe I laughed. I wanted to get a picture but I was in the middle of something else.

Saturday I had coffee with Biker Witch (my sister), did a little work and read. So nice! Monday, Wizard and I went to the gym, hung out at the Jacuzzi then made a lobster dinner.

I really think we need more of these long weekends!

So how was your weekend?

Commercial Competition!

Wizard and I can’t decide…so we’re throwing the vote to you all. Which is your favorite commercial?

I think Wizard is leaning toward this one:

Here’s the link in case it doesn’t play on your computer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I61n_kkRRHA

While I love the above commercial, this one has a certain appeal too:

If it doesn’t play, here’s the link
