What Are You Reading?

witch_on_her_way_to_the_beach_magnet-p147258474988457394tdcm

It’s HOT here in Southern California! Like pool and beach weather! Which is very scary since that means I’m going to have to go bathing suit shopping soon. I really don’t want to talk about that, or think about it! Let’s talk about reading instead!

I just started reading this book:

secret-life-of-a-vampire-kerrelyn-sparksI’ve only read 40 pages…it’s light and humorous.  Lately I gravitate to darker and more passionate books,  but I’m not sure why. I’ve always liked light and funny.

I just finished this book

cop-a-true-storyIt’s the experiences of Michael L Middleton’s career as a cop. My son read the book and gave it to me to read, so I did. I liked it very much.

What are you guys reading? How was your weekend? Are any of you thinking about bathing suit shopping?

Bathing suits? I don’t wear no stinking bathing suits! There aren’t enough appletinis in the world for that!

Reading Eve Silver’s Demon’s Hunger at the moment. I’m about 100 pages into it. I haven’t read the first book in the series, Demon’s Kiss, so I’m a little behind on the “world” but I’m enjoying it.

Weekend was spent in the car. In pouring rain. In Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. We spent the night in Daphne, Alabama, parked in front of a marker buoy from Ivan and Katrina, along with a sign saying “$500 fine for feeding the alligators.” Uhm….

I’m in the middle of numerous books. I’m reading Deep in the Heart of Trouble by Deeanne Gist for a contest. It’s a historical inspy but with a very light hand on the inspy part. Small Favor by Jim Butcher. And numerous craft books–short attention span for those. :-)

I’m still trudging through Dogs & Goddesses a compliation by Jennifer Crusie, Anne Stuart and some other lady. BUT I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank goodness. My next book that I can’t wait to start (hopefully soon) is Sudden Death by Allison Brennan.

It’s suppose to be 93 in Phoenix today, I feel your pain. I own one bathing suit and I think the elastic is so old it probably wouldn’t stay up. Nobody wants to see that. Trust me. :D

Silver, sorry about the rain! Have you been enjoying the trip? That’s hilarious about the $500 fine for feeding Alligators sign! Are you taking lots of pics?

I enjoyed DEMON’S HUNGER. I didn’t read the first one either.

    Bathing suits are scary!

Margaret, sounds like you’re enjoying the contest book! I admit I usually don’t read inspirational. No real reason for that. And I so need to read Jim Butcher! I’ve had the books in my hand, then trade them for something else that catches my eye.

Erika, LOL! It’s usually called an anthology, but collaboration works too! Besides I knew what you meant, and that’s what counts.

I hear SUDDEN DEATH is really good! I have to read it.

It was 98 degrees here yesterday. I lived in Yuma Arizona for a few years when I was kid and I remember how hot it was there. Only went to Phoenix once (not counting layovers at the Phoenix airport).

Tulsa is a beautiful sunny 70 degrees today, with a high of 75. The rest of the week will be sunny in the low 80’s. We opened our pool this weekend, but at 50 degrees I don’t think I’ll hop in anytime soon.
I have a plethora of swimsuits and ordered two more from Travelsmith. I even have a bikini that I vow I’ll eventually get into, but I won’t parade it around in public. Parts of my anatomy are much better hidden–especially the really pale white parts. :-) EW!
Off to finish the rest of my errands. . .

Margaret, a 50 degree pool is cold! Our pool should be warming up with this heat!

YAY you on working on your bikini body! I think you should take pics :-) I wore shorts yesterday and my husband was laughing at my white legs. Men!

Silver, DO have appletinis! YUM! I could use one or three about now. I am doing the butt in chair thing and working hard. That jaw thing really set me back.

I can’t wait to see your pictures! It’s so cool that we get to talk to you even when you are on vacation!

Quilt Lady, I know Charlene! She is one of the nicest people out there. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her say a negative thing. Next time I see her at a meeting, I’ll tell her you enjoyed Taming The Texan!

Glad you have some nice weather coming your way!
