I’m back!

Hey! I missed  you all!

Thanksgiving went well–15 people for sit down dinner with china etc. Surprising free of disasters.  Note to self: Maybe I should put that much advance planning into writing a book? Then I wouldn’t be frantically rewriting as I am now?

Friday we went to the movies to see THE BLIND SIDE then I spent a couple hours in the afternoon just reading. It was so nice to have a whole day off! No cooking and no working!

Saturday I went back to work. The Wizard is being extremely patient with me. This is how it’s going to be for awhile.

So I finally started reading COVET by JR Ward. I am about three quarters of the way through it. I’m finding the story and characters very intriguing. I can’t quite figure out what’s going to happen. Ward really takes chances and I like that!

The whole using nouns as verbs or making up new words occasionally trips me up but that’s just me. Most people read right over that. Besides making my brain work once in while isn’t a bad thing :-)

Now your turns! Let’s catch up!

Thanksgiving at my brother-in-laws went good. My seven year old niece came home with us for the weekend, she went home yesterday, man I wish I had her energy!

Friday us girls (daughter, niece, me) went to see New Moon. I didn’t read the books, but my daughter did so I don’t know maybe the books are better, but I find the movies ho hum. Except for the werewolf eye candy, he stirs my interest. But I’l go to the next one, it is fun having Girls Night Out.

Saturday hubby and I went to a 75th birthday party for my aunt, then after the old folks went to bed us younger people went to the bar. We had a good time, was out till 3:30 in the morning. Boy did that suck when I had to get up at 7 am for work on Sunday. Sometimes we forget we are no longer 20 somethings.

I love JR Ward’s books, I read Covet awhile ago and am looking forward to the next one. I think I am one of the ones who just accept and read over the nouns as verbs, but then I was never very good at English to begin with. :) I just started reading Denise Rossetti, Thief of Light.

Oh how you have been missed, but it sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful time Jen!!! Kudos for you, brave of you to use China!!!! You go girl! And accident free!!! Yayayay!

Val… going out till 3 in the morning!! Oh wow!

Our time was very nice. Very quiet for Thanksgiving. Lunch at my Mom’s, dinner at my house. Power went out after we had eaten and we were starting to clean up… But it was all good!
Hubby left for camp Friday morning. My Mom, Halfing Witch, and myself tackled cleaning the attic, putting up tree and decorating the house this weekend. Overall the whole holiday was very nice!!! Hubby did not see or or kill anything.

Oh boy, do those Slayers know how to keep a girl busy!! ***evil laughter in the background and wicked smiles on their faces***

Val, wouldn’t it be great to have their energy? My nieces were here too and they cracked me up. But they are much more energetic than me!

I read all the Twilight books and I’m guessing they were better than the movies. Although I might consider going just to see Jacob :-)

75th birthday party is pretty special! Staying out to 3am is brutal at 7 the next morning.

The nouns as verb is just Ward’s style, but it can sometimes my brain stutter.

Cecile! I missed all of you too! I’d never have lasted if I hadn’t been so dang busy!

At least the power waited until after you ate to go out.

I knew you already decorated for Christmas! You’re so festive and fun :-) While I’m the grinch :-(

Cleaning the attic? Ugh! I have this small storage closet we need to clean out.

I wondered why the Slayers were so quiet…

Thanksgiving was very low key at my house. Just us and my mom. My mom and I headed for our annual shopping trip to Garden Ridge and it was very disappointing, no good sales like past years at all. We then headed to Michael’s when they opened at 5pm and got there a bit early and were laughing at all the women lined up at the door waiting for them to open, we couldn’t figure out what the big deal was. Of course we laughed at the men camping in front of Best Buy also. I’ve never been a person to enjoy Black Friday shopping, I hate crowds when shopping and I never find anything that is that great of a deal. Today I’ve been looking for all these great online deals and still can’t find anything, I guess maybe I’m not the shopper I thought I was.

Oh and yes the books are always better than the movies but definitely the case with the Twilight Saga. New Moon was closer to the book than Twilight though.

I bow down to anyone that hosts Thanksgiving dinner.

Your comment about Covet reminded me of something…was it just me or is there a serious lack of question marks after questions?

Amanda, you went out on Black Friday! That deserves a medal for bravery! I keep hoping all the presents I need to buy will magically appear, but I’m starting to think I might actually have to shop.

I agree about books being better than movies!

Hope you find great online deals somewhere on the Internet :-)

Casee, I like doing it once in a while, and the Wizard (my husband) helps.

LOLOL on the question marks! I noticed that too!

No no no I didn’t go out on Black Friday we went out on Thanksgiving day. :)

I haven’t found anything good online except at B&N and I keep finding stuff for myself there. It is hard for me to buy books for the boys unless I can see them and my husband reads a book a year if that and he is so picky about what he reads. I picked him up the first in the Dresden series and he looked at it and said “I don’t read that stuff”. I told him to try it he might actually like it and he said yeah maybe after you read it.

I love JR Ward’s blunt voice. You’re right about her writing though. It can jar you, but I think she does that on purpose. And knowing that, makes all the difference. I finished COVET and loved it!! Very different. But she still owns that blunt voice.

We ate too much over the holiday. Shopped. And watched LOADS of football on our new tv!!! :D

Glad you had such a terrific break. You needed it!

My Thanksgiving day was totally laid back, and full of hilarity when Lawyer Guy and The Only taught the fuzzypup how to do whipped cream shots. I have video up on Penumbra and FB, FYI. Friday and Saturday were full of errands but no Black Friday shopping for me. I tagged along with LG and wrote madly trying to catch up to NaNoWriMo. Saturday, we had guests. I’m still about 4K short of reaching 50K. Anybody got a spell for words to magically appear of paper?

Glad you had a restful break, Jen. Now get back to work! I’m a whiny witch and don’t want to be the only one with my nose to the grindstone. ;)

Welcome back, Jen, glad you had a good week. I read COVET the week it came out and loved it. I loved that it tied in with the Black Dagger series.

My week wasn’t so great. I came down with a cold and lost my voice. Fun, fun. Thanksgiving at my aunt’s house was nice. Lots of people, lots of food. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to play with the new baby. I didn’t want to give him my cold. My cousins and I went to see New Moon that night. I have to say I really don’t understand what some women see in the guy who plays Edward. He does nothing for me. The guy who plays Jacob, on the other hand, yum.

Welcome back Jen. Sounds like you had a very good week.

My week was a good one. My sister and the kids came up for a visit. We went to my aunt’s house where the food was plentiful and delicious. I’ve read and I’m making progress on my latest quilt project. All in all, it was a nice and quiet week.

Amanda, ah! Thanksgiving evening. Got it!

I like the Dresden series (the wizard one) and think your husband might really enjoy it. But how to convince him? Men can be incredibly stubborn!

*My* wizard usually reads books when he travels but that’s about it.

Kira, there was LOADS of football on TV! I worked through or read through most of it :-)

Wait, new TV???? Like a big screen? Oh the wizard is going to be jealous!

That is totally Ward’s style, exactly as you said. It works for her!

Silver, I watched the video a couple times! Too cute! It loaded right up. Sometimes I have trouble with my weak DSL line, but this was easy to watch.

I should have left a comment!

I’ve got my nose to the grindstone, just like you! I edited all day. Only have 30 pages left to go.

Dawn, I’m so sorry about your cold! I know how much you were looking forward to playing with the new baby. So not fair!

When reading the book NEW MOON, I found Jacob a lot more interesting that Edward. I haven’t seen the movie, but in the trailers, Jacob is hot :-)

COVET is very interesting. I hope I can finish it soon, I’m trying to figure out what happens!

    Really hope you’re feeling better.

Yes. New tv. Ours went OUT last Monday. Not something we were planning on buying, but our old was a 46″ 8 year old projection tv. So I guess we got our money’s worth. SOO hubs decides we should go bigger. A 52″ HDTV Sony 1080P 120 hz….yeah I know. I have no idea what that means, but the picture is AMAZING! I can see the football players eye color! It’s wicked cool!!

we had Thanksgiving at the in-laws house since most of my family was out of town.

I am currently reading Covet, JR Ward is amazing. If you have not read her Black Dagger Brotherhood series I totally recommend them!

Soul Magic was great! Another winner. Waiting patiently for the next book!

    Linc says hello :)

Kira, it sucks that the TV just went out but you got a super cool new TV! 52 inches of pure visual bliss! Yay for you!

Poor Wizard! I keep telling him to buy one, but he’s not ready to lay out the $$ yet.

Alicia, Ward really is! I read the Black Dagger Brotherhood, and absolutely feel in love with it. Wrath is still my fave!

    Thanks on Soul Magic!

Tell Linc it’s time to get back to work :-)
