News and Stuff!

First, the news, the third book (Phoenix’s story) is now titled NIGHT MAGIC and it will be released April of 2011. The forth book (Key’s story) will be released summer of 2011 but I don’t have the exact month yet.

I know it’s a long ways off,  but Phoenix and Key are worth the wait, right? (Say yes, I really need Key to be cooperative while I write his book!)

And under the heading of Stuff, it’s Bailey Time!

DSCN0060This is Bailey’s, “Please don’t take my toy,” look. It’s very effective!

Bailey came over this weekend to visit me! My boys all went out for a Bro Night while Wizard and I stayed home and played with Bailey.

Okay, I played with Bailey. Wizard mostly smirked and said,  “He’s a baby.”

Whatever.

Once the boys got home, we all watched Hangover.  And yet, it was as stupid the second time DSCN0061around, but I still laughed.  Sad.

Now I must say, I tried to get a better picture of Bailey, but he doesn’t understand.  Every time I get on the ground to get a picture, he runs over and sits next to me, facing away.  If I get frustrated,  he licks my face and tries to make me feel better.  If I try to get a picture of him playing, he’s moving too fast to focus.  So I had to get pics of him sitting on the lap of one of my sons.  (Ironically this is in my office–the same chair my boys always come sit in while I’m working when they want to chat.)

So how was your weekend?

Night Magic! Yay! Having to wait until 2011? Not so yay. I suppose there’s nothing to do but be patient. It’ll be well worth it. =o)

Awww, Bailey’s too cute. What is it about getting on the ground that makes critters act strange? I lay down to exercise, and my cat thinks it’s time to curl up next to me for what I call ‘squooshies’. (Long story.)

My weekend was typical. Write, read, watch TV. BTW, if you’re into Jeaniene Frost, her new book – The First Drop of Crimson – is her best yet. I inhaled it a few hours.

Yea!! A title and a release date! I’m with B.E. on the waiting part though. *sniff* I hate waiting. *sigh* But I know it’ll be worth it.

I mostly read and watched the Olympics this weekend. I read Nalini Singh’s ARCHANGEL’S KISS on Friday. Saturday, I read a book by a new author, L J McDonald, called THE BATTLE SYLPH. It was pretty good and now I’m looking forward to the next one. Yesterday, I read Shirley Damsgaard’s THE SEVENTH WITCH and watched the US men’s hockey team beat Canada. U-S-A! U-S-A! No excitement here. Really ;) A very relaxing, if unproductive, weekend.

2011? Pout, that is a loooong wait, wish it was coming sooner, but no worries I am sure it will be worth it.

Didn’t do much this weekend, went to a spaghetti dinner with my mom. The dinner was to raise money for our State Champ football team to get championship rings, and I got my State Champs T-Shirt. Other than that, I didn’t leave the house. I read Laurell K Hamiltons Divine Misdemeanors, and Jory Strongs Roping Savannah. Getting ready to start Karen Chances Death’s Mistress.

BE I agree First Drop of Crimson was a great read, I also read it in a couple of hours.

Night Magic. I like it. Phoenix will be worth the wait, although it does seem like a long way off. I’m sure I can entertain myself until then (see TBR pile tilting ominously over Erika while she sleeps).

My weekend was uneventful. I loved it. Glad you got in your Bailey time.

I like the title “Night Magic.”

This weekend I was busy. I finished the quilt I was working on. Then I had errands to run and then spent time watching the Olympics.

Love the title, Jen! I know they will be awesome even though we have to wait. Have I mentioned I don’t like to wait?? lol We will try to keep our hands off the slayers so they can work…er, I did say TRY! haha

Was an uneventful weekend, except for my dilemma over which eReader to buy. Any suggestions??

Mandi, I know, it’s a LONG time! But the publisher was looking for the right slot or something. I dunno, I just write the books, LOL.

B.E. animals are so amusing! I’m driving Wizard crazy talking about Bailey non stop. Good thing he’s afraid to turn his magic on me to shut me up :-)

    Squooshies…sounds like a cat!

Oh!!! I’ve read a couple Frost books and loved them! I’ll get that that one, thanks!

April 2011?? *whiiiiiiiiiiiiine* I guess I will just suffer for Phoenix until then. I hate that it is so long between the books but glad that Key’s book will be not as far behind. I am very anxious for them both. :)

We had a good weekend, it was cold all weekend but we made the best of it. I finished J.R. Ward’s Dark Lover and am ready to dive into that series as soon as I read my book club reads. The one I am reading now is Gentlemen Prefer Succubi by Jill Myles, so far so good.

Dawn, thanks for hanging in there for Phoenix!

Hey how was ARCHANGELS KISS? That’s another book I need to get!

I didn’t sense ant excitement at all about the USA beating Canada :-)

Val, I hope Phoenix will live up to the long wait!

It seems to have been a good weekend for reading!

Erika, aren’t the calm weekends nice? Lately it feels like we’re always busy.

Careful of that TBR pile! We don’t want any reading-related injuries!

Cecile, maybe that’s the reason for the delay! All the witches in the lair slowed down production on the book :-)

Bailey is too much fun. But then, I don’t have to take care of him, I just play with him. I love it!

Hmm, aren’t you doing something over at your blog this week? I have to go look.

I loveloveLOVE the new title! NIGHT MAGIC. It’s perfect for Phoenix! I’ll wait..anxiously! And I can’t wait for Key’s book, too. Hopefully, they’ll come out close together so we can get our fix!

Weekend…RWA chapter meeting where The Only gave the program on historical research. And I finished those pesky galley proofs yesterday. I hope to have a release date for FAERIE FIRE before too long. In the meantime, I have to get ready for FAERIE FATE’s release–forty-six days…but who’s counting? LOL

Dru, thanks on the title. NIGHT MAGIC was my editor’s idea, and she’s usually right!

    Congrats on finishing the quilt!

Amanda, sorry! I didn’t mean to make you whine!!!

DARK LOVER was my fave of that series. Can’t want to hear what you think as you keep reading.

Ashlynn, oh yeah, I’m not holding my breath “keeping hands of slayers” part!!! LOL!

I think Silver has a Kindle eReader. A lot of people love those, but I don’t know. Everyone seems to love the one they have :-)

Silver, yay on getting your galleys done and back to the editor!

You must be so proud of Only!

46 days? Wow it’s going to be here soon! Can’t wait to buy my copy!

Jen, I read ARCHANGEL’S KISS in a single day, and I gave up sleep to do it. What does that tell you? There’s an excerpt of her next Psy/Changeling book in the back. I can’t wait for that one. Lucky for me, I don’t have to wait for that one as long as I have to wait for Phoenix’s book. *sigh* Guess I’ll just have to keep sneaking into the lair to get my Phoenix fix :)

Erika, LOLOL!! Oh no pressure at all!!! Linc won’t be until after Ram. He’s not even in Phoenix’s book much, but I do have some ideas for him :-)
