Any Good News?

Bailiey waitingHere’s Bailey…waiting to see if I come up with something for this blog.

He’s going to be waiting a long time, LOL!

In some good news,  I discovered over the weekend that SOUL MAGIC is in its second printing.  I had no idea! I found out when I was in a bookstore with an author friend, one who is smarter than me, and insisted I check the printing (the string of numbers usually located on the bottom of the copyright page tells you what printing the book is in).  Sure enough–second printing!

So hmm, I guess that’s my good news.

How about you? Any good news? Bailey is still waiting :-)

I Think It’s Defective…

“Mom, I know how bad you want a dog so…” My oldest son pulled out his present from behind his back.

Oh a cute little puppy! But then I tried to play with it–sadly all it knew how to do was lay there and play dead.

Then I tried to feed it, but it wouldn’t eat.

I’m starting to think this isn’t a real puppy… anyone have a spell (or app) for that? Or a spell to get back at my smart ass kid, LOL!!!

My weekend was good.  I went to my local chapter RWA meeting on Saturday, and Mother’s Day on Sunday turned out great in spite of the suspicious puppy.  And Bailey Dog came over to play with me!

So how was your weekend and your Mother’s Day?

Ashlynn’s Book and Random Stuff

Today we were going to have our very own Ashlynn Pearce guest blog but she’s unable to make it.  I’d really like you all to keep Ashlynn in your thoughts right now. She’s going through a tough struggle, and when she’s recovered, she’ll tell you all if she wishes. But let’s remember her.

And you could always buy her book here ! It’s just been released from Ellora’s Cave

Jake Korte is emotionally broken. Angry. Hurt. Worthless. Fearing that he will become the abuser his father was, the last thing he needs is a woman in his life. He feels like a virtual time bomb just waiting for the internal explosion. So when tiny Rebecca Saylor “chats” her way into his life and then crawls under his skin, panic descends. He can’t seem to stay away, but is terrified to be with her.

After surviving an abusive marriage, Becca isn’t looking for love, only safety. But through her research for her column “Chat Addiction”, she meets Jake, who is anything but safe. He’s the one man who can make her feel alive again. But can she overcome her own fears to claw her way into the heart of a man so fractured?

I am going to order my copy!

In other news,  I’m very slow to answer comments and I apologize. I hope you all know how much I appreciate you guys! You all make me laugh at your comments!

And lastly, did you all see that the Gaylord Hotel in Tennessee has severe flooding that may impact that RWA National Conference? I don’t know what’s going to happen.  I just hope everyone in Tennessee is okay!

Monday

I’m writing this blog while watching DATELINE on email scams. I get those emails all the time! So I’m wondering, do you know anyone personally who has fallen for these? I don’t think I do.  But people do fall for them.  I’d suggest risking a buck on the Lottery rather than replying to these emails!

Otherwise, my weekend was mostly work. I finished the page proofs for REDEEMING THE WIZARD, my story in The Beast Within Anthology.  I hope it’s an entertaining story! That anthology is out in September 2010.

I had to laugh, though, I went to the dentist for my regular check up on Saturday morning. They took one look at the mess I’ve made biting the inside of my cheeks and declared that I was under stress—BWHAHAHAHA!!! Really? Imagine my surprise!

But on the upside, I’m learning more and more about Key and his witch-heroine and if I can get it to all come together, I think it can be a really good story. It’s always exciting when things begin to suddenly make sense. It’s just playing Outrun The Looming Deadline that’s stressful.

So that’s my pretty boring weekend. How was your weekend.
