More Long Weekends!

I can’t believe it! I set this to post April 1st instead of June 1st! What  dumb witch! LOL! So now I’m late!

We should start a petition or something! We had a great weekend. Saturday we celebrated middle son’s birthday by hanging out at the pool. Birthday boy wanted tacos and lemon pound cake,  so that’s what I made. It was a blast! My sons were jumping in the pool and begging me to take pictures.

Since I have the stupid rule against showing my sons, here’s a picture of the pool when I MISSED the shot. If you look close, you’ll see a little yellow rubber duck getting tossed around. I don’t know why we have rubber ducks in the pool.

Bailey came over too which  was fun. But Wizard (the smart ass) took Bailey’s leash and hooked it up to stuffed puppy and dragged him all over the house, saying,  “Hey Witch, I’m walking your dog!!” The boys fell over laughing at that.

Not funny, Wizard! Okay, maybe I laughed. I wanted to get a picture but I was in the middle of something else.

Saturday I had coffee with Biker Witch (my sister), did a little work and read. So nice! Monday, Wizard and I went to the gym, hung out at the Jacuzzi then made a lobster dinner.

I really think we need more of these long weekends!

So how was your weekend?

Sounds like you had an excellent long weekend. I know I did. I can’t believe I have to start this crazy week already.

I think long weekends should be at least once a month. It should be a rule. Who do we talk to?

Daughter had softball practice Saturday, then came home and did yardwork, then just chilled around the house. A cookout on Sunday, just us no company. Yesterday I had to work for a couple hours in the morning, and then we went to see Prince of Persia. Haven’t seen Jake Gyllenhaal in anything since Bubble Boy, and man did he turn into a hottie. We were leaving the theater and I said to daughter, “Wow Bubble Boy sure looks ……. different.” Hubby, with raised eyebrow, “Un Huh, you sure tempered that statement real quick.”, lol.

I’m with you and Erika, should have at least one long weekend a month. After working at least one day each weekend for the past month I sure needed the extra day. Feeling much peppier than I have in awhile.

We are cookout burnt out. LOL We went to three different friends house each night and we are SICK of hamburger and hot dogs. But I can’t complain too much because I didn’t have to cook or clean up the mess after.
Hubby and I did clean out the office, well got started on it at least. I hope to finish my side this weekend.
I didn’t get to read as much as I would have liked but I did read a little.

Your weekend sounds a lot more interesting than mine. I spent the past three days writing, editing, and watching TV. Yesterday was a Band of Brothers marathon. I got a lot of words out, but that’s only exciting to me. I also got a short story edited for a lit journal submission. It went out this morning, so I’m crossing my fingers now.

Oh, and I wanted to say… I’m totally jealous of your pool. It’s so hot here and the water looks sooo good. =o)

Val, very quick thinking there so you didn’t tell your daughter what you were REALLY thinking!

Amanda, we wanted to BBQ hamburgers or tri-tip but the kid insisted on tacos. But I feel for your hamburger/hot dog burnout :-) Although other people doing all the work always makes food taste better!

B.E., I’m excited for you getting a lot of words out! I love when the words flow (and wish I had more of that happening here!)

Thanks on the pool. We put that in after our first kid moved out, and everyone thought we were crazy. But the boys love to come home and hang out at the pool. It turned out to be a good investment. Plus–we don’t take vacations much, we’re really homebodies.

Okay…really weird. I have all my regular blogs on Google RSS feed…and your last two posts didn’t show up. I shall have to have strong words with Google Reader!

Glad you had a great weekend!
